That might or might not have been a deliberate choice of words ;) Seriously tho - I genuinely like Revali as a character, but the image of him cussing like a sailor offscreen once he realizes just how little of an impact his "Sting of Revenge" has made, that's something that amuses me far more than it should.

@@WolfLink_justlookingfordragon and let's not talk about the fact that when you go free vah Medoh you're constantly told about how great Revali was, then spend 10/20 minutes hearing him behaving like he's better than you, only to be faced with the easiest boss of the game. I mean, seriously? Beating Medoh immediately after Naboris was a huge mistake. And also beating Naboris after Ruta with little experience was a mistake, I thought the boss would have been just like Waterblight aaaand... It wasn't. Still, I love Revali as well, and I really appreciate what you learn about him after beating Medoh and stuff, and it's ability is so freaking useful.

@@JustAWildSkullKid The real mistake is doing Naboris first, especially after skipping all the starting cutscenes with no clue about what you're getting yourself into. I would know.

I was a fool thinking I could complete every shrine before tackling the divine beasts. I was wondering where the last three were for a while...

@@Joe_334 I managed to do it with only two beasts: Naboris and Medoh. Ceremonial song is still doable without Ruta, but you have to already know where the trident is and what the solution is.

Actually, you can =P There is a brief time window between defeating the Blight and activating the Main Control Unit in which you can simply teleport away. In that case, the Blight stays dead (and won't appear in the Boss Rush) but the respective Champion isn't free yet (and therefore won't appear in the cutscene, nor will the Divine Beast fire its laser). A big downside of this is that you won't get the respective Champion Ability nor will you actually clear the quest or gain any rewards / unlock follow-up features. If you, for example, kill Thunderblight but then warp away without freeing Urbosa, you won't get Urbosa's Fury or the Scimitar of the Seven & Daybreaker, Riju won't give you the Thunder Helm, and you can not start the Sand-Seal Racing minigame for the shrine quest.

for me it’s the reverse. I thought if you didn’t do all divine beats the cutscene simpy wouldn’t play.

It will start at Vah Ruta. Something I noticed was that, regardless of order of being freed and always in this order, it will play Vah Medoh, then Ruta, then Rudania, then Naboris. If you haven't freed, for example, Ruta, the cutscene of the other three firing will still play in the order I just described in the previous sentence ago, but without Vah Ruta.

@@agentredacted8734 Does this mean that the "canon" is free Medoh first, then Ruta, then Rudania and of course Naboris last? Is this the "canon" version, the order in which the divine beasts are freed? So you get Ravioli's Gale first, then Mipha's Grace, then Daruk's Protection and Urbosa's Fury last....kinda makes sense, I've always thought the Gale is most useful in the early segments when you only have one stamina wheel.

I found Ganon too easy, I had 23 hearts and full stamina. I only ate food once. I wore fully upgraded ancient armor.

@@CapitalMort same. I basically did the castle right after the fourth devine beast with the mindset of, "ah, fuck it. Let's just see what happens," and was a bit underwhelmed at the difficulty. Intense? Absolutely. But I was the same as you, only ate one or two items, wore 3-star ancient gear, didn't even stock up on arrows before starting, and still took him down without dying. Lynels were way more challenging and dangerous than ganon felt to me.

Ganon was a challenge for me although I found it was more a battle of endurance than skill - hit enough times and he's dead 😆 I had 14 hearts. I shot him in the face but most shots didn't do anything. Then I realised I could do better damage if I used the divine beast powers. When you use Urbosas fury and any of the other powers it makes Ganon vulnerable and you can get really good damage before he comes back to invincible mode.

@@LauraAnimalgirl you're right about face shots doing little to no damage but that is not their purpose. They knock your enemy flat. Has been so since the beginning of the game. Prone like that he is easy pickings. Other than that it is a simple matter of learning his patterns. The blights were tougher fights.

Face shots do double damage to normal enemies. They do something like 14x damage to scout enemies though

There is videos of it, if you do it you teleport back but the game still thinks you are fighting ganon, you won’t even be able to enter the sanctum again, plus all npc’s are gone and the towers look unfinished, it’s weird

I like to think that the 5th divine beast is only for additional game content and not canon, which is why it doesn't change the story.

In-universe explanation is that no one is there to fire it both because Link never learned how and because he's on the ground with the sword. They may have anticipated that when they built it and probably didn't even install a laser.

Is there an actual explanation in-game? I never found one.

You have to fight every Blight that you did not yet kill, yes. If you want the "full" Boss Rush of all 4 Blights, then you have to skip all 4 Divine Beasts.

@@ortherner It just takes practice. Maybe just try Great Plateau Any%. You just have to get the paraglider. Looking at the leaderboard, you technically would still be on it if you took less than 55 minutes! That wouldn't be insanely hard.

Without ANY Divine Beasts - yes. That's even a somewhat common speedrun. But I couldn't find any footage of a "half done" scenario - all videos I was able to find either had zero Divine Beasts done or all four of them, and the redditor in question was specifically asking for what it would look like if only _some_ of the DBs were cleared.

Chestpiece & trousers of the regular Ancient Set from the Akkala Tech Lab plus the "Vah Naboris Divine Beast Helmet" from the Urbosa amiibo. I like that design a lot more than the regular Ancient Helmet, and it still activates the set bonus.

Agreed. I mean .. I get it why they made Ganon so easy, as they were constantly bragging about how you could go directly to the final boss right after the tutorial - so they needed to make him "easy enough" that he could be beaten with a stick .... but this doesn't change the fact that this bossfight was a bummer for a lot of players who simply prepared themselves like you would for any other "final fight" in the fantasy video game section. I sure as heck totally overprepared back in the day; max upgraded armor, a dozen triple attack boost meals & hearty/enduring food, triple digits of Ancient Arrows (and just as many bomb arrows "in case I run out"), a dozen fairies, multiple attack boosted Savage Lynel Bows, a full arsenal of gold-tier weapons ... the fight was over in like, 2 minutes tops, and it left me utterly confused because I thought I had missed or skipped something important or that there was a hidden super strong extra phase after that joke of a bossfight or something... but then the credits just rolled and it was over.
