Being a prisoner locked behind bars, you miss out on the rest of the world, but what about when natural disaster strikes? Are prisoners left for dead, or does the government have a plan to transport the criminals to a safe place? Well this has happened a number of times in history, with hurricanes and floods, and in today's amazing video we're going to show you what happens to prisoners during a natural disaster.

"What happens to prisoners during a disaster." Prison Break: *allow me to introduce myself.*

I'm fairly conservative politically. But with my sense of morality I believe there should be some serious reforms to our prison system in the U.S. people are people. No matter the horrendous crimes they may or may not have committed. I think privatization of prisons is a disaster. And at that, even private prisons should be federally required to have a/c in the very least. And definitely better contingency plans should shtf. We all (in the U.S.) have 3 inalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I think that putting someone's life at risk due to lack of a/c violates that.

Soooooo I guess a woman looking for attention and making false allegations will get you the death penalty in certain situations, she's not screaming, "tell my kids I love them". I wish we had real equality to where if you make a false allegation and it's proven, you should be required to finish the time. We won't do that, no we just wait for equality for women. After seeing the college guy have his life ruined by that girl who confessed she lied for attention after video proved it, she got zero time and the guy got 20 years.

As embarrassing as it is to say I was in a county jail on the coast North Carolina during a hurricane evacuation once. The packed us up and took us to a jail about an hour inland. I was there for 15 days sleeping on a mat on the floor. It wasn't pleasant. That jail was much worse than the one I came from. I've since turned my life around since then.

No matter what crimes have been committed its the officers and wardens job to ensure safety and evacuation a delayed response or an attitude of let's just wait and see just how bad it gets knowing an evacuation needs to be done is absolutely not acceptable in any way shape or form excusable and before that argument of well there is no where to put them because of over crowding oh well if u can't do ur job then find a job that doesn't require that kind of decision making

I was just wondering about this, after my state had an earthquake, as well as w/ the virus. I've never been in trouble, so I'm ignorant. I do know No matter their crimes, they are friends, children, parents, & people. They need to serve their time safely, especially since so many have been proven innocent. Others turn their lives around, or are in jail for something like 1 kid, accused of stealing a backpack, he served 3 yrs before he died. No matter who they are, It's not safe for anyone to be in those conditions. I know putting them in even tighter wouldn't help things fights, but temp during the flood, why couldnt they add 1 more per cell upstairs till flooding is done. Fear for days wasnt needed. Guards could've let them know that they weren't left & forgotten. I would think being treated like an animal would reinforce how they feel , & give them less chances.

I think the treatment of prisoners is inhumane with the air conditioning thing especially. But imagine going to jail for a petty crime, and then ending up drowning because the state refused to move you because you're "expendable" to them. That's awful. Everyone makes mistakes. Doesn't mean they deserve to die like that

@blake7587
@blake7587 2 года назад
Um no. You can’t let them out of their cells or they’ll simply overpower the guards and escape into society. Then you have hundreds of murderers, pedophiles, child rapists, and all kinds of psychopaths running loose through society. However they could have let the non-violent offenders out and the prisoners with not much time left to serve.

slightly grey walls will still conduct heat, so, even without AC, a prison could still be painted high-gloss enamel white deflecting heat from sunlight: also, underground air is colder than the air trapped under a roof; if channeled, escaping warm-air would draw cool-air up; any underground corridors in the prison would cool the airflow from basement to ceiling if given a series of grills to pass through.

Maybe it's because I've grown cold and callous but exactly why do we keep prisoners? Like it's suppose to be a deterrent to others as not to commit crimes but all the time crimes are still commit. I mean sure we all probably do things that could send us to jail/prison but most of us haven't taken another person's life.

Our state prison systems are completely corrupt. The way things are now or not the way things were intended according to the Constitution and the early framers of our Republic. What states are to return the inmate back to society as a free man cleared with the house. They are not supposed to be punished beyond what the judge sentence them so what states have gotten away with for many years is inducing cruel and unusual punishment upon their inmates.

I wonder why? Lol "Here let me steal 10-20 years of your life when your crime has no victims." That's also another reason felons aren't allowed to have guns. Most of them got way more time then they deserved and have a bone to pick with the government so they'd be on the front lines during a revolution. They give people years in prison when they should just be giving them weeks or maybe even months when their crimes have no victims.

I say protect the rest of us, evacuate only well behaved undangerous ones hang all dangerous ones to give them a merciful dispatch, in any case i think our system is messed up. we should rely on house arrest for all nonviolent crimes with days in the stocks and floggings for infractions and hangings for all murders and third time crimes. you may say thats cruel but i say that not doing so is cruel to those put in danger by these criminals. plus these penalties will serve as a deterrent to crime so everyone will obey the law for the most part.

Soldiers get benefits and pay to endure the weather conditions they do and more than likely they signed up, inmates are held against their will while losing jobs, housing, etc in their lives so the soldier argument has nothing to do with people in jail and prison who would even say such a ridiculous thing?

They do that to toilets in solitary all the time. Just watch Larry Lawton on here. The guards control the toilets & can turn em off so the inmates can’t flush em. & the inmates will have to beg the guards to turn em back on for weeks it’ll stay off tho.

Call me crazy but I can think of many, many worse situations than a bunch of murderers, rapists and molesters drowning in a jail cell.
