@@zema9401 Honestly, that doesn't sound that bad since they already proved what they were able to do. If anything, playing the final game with an alternative set of rules makes it more exciting. But that s just my opinion.

They may have been disqualified but they created 1 of the funniest pro games ever played. Riot and the tournament organisers may not have liked it but the fans hade never been happier. This game will go down in the history books thats for sure.

@@BlackCoal305my friend that’s today’s local and that time the plays are completely different from today and marco plays wasn’t as important as now I can bet a quarter of the teams know what marco plays were at that time That time it was only meta, like have you played that old school league and who watches that old map league tournaments and think this can apply to today’s league Also when watching that generations tournaments what can you apply from that old map to the current game like non at all
Eh, tournaments are supposed to be somewhat professional, and running it down mid 5v5 is the polar opposite of that. People want to watch pros genuinely outsmart and outplay others.
@@mikeyk8667 Debatable. It's a tournament, both teams agreed, made fair play and decided to do something not repetitive in the finals, off meta, all mid. Most likely they had lots of fun. After tons of games doing the same tryhard strategies why not chill a bit and try to have a stress free game for the giggles. I'm not saying you're wrong, but this could be viewed as something good too.
First of all, this is call match fixing. Second, the prize pool comes from the audience, sponsor etc… u cannot just decide to entertain urself on other people money.

The fight was scripted for a tournament and you defend it when it's not authentic. This is an e-sport scene were talking out of competitiveness not an acting scene from your home.

Them having fun, is actually great. The macro and micro should be left on the semi finals and before it. If the two teams, decided to play for fun, then it is their game. They participated to have money, have the trophy, and have the experience of playing e-sports. That's their fun and the organizers are the ones wanted to control that fun. It is unfair to do your best then all of a sudden it will be wasted. Both teams probably did their best before the finals, that's why they are the two winners competing for the final champion.

Bro Im there to watch tournament players show their skill and have fun. Thats what they did. Why would I care who gets the money if they both agree on splitting it? Thats sportsmanship in my opinion

I didn't watch the match but I would probably agree that it was probably fun to watch. They should've just let them but warn that next time, they won't be tolerated and not only them but to other players too.
tbh...gotta respect both team for actually do it...ive been on a small gaming tournament and the other team which is literally older than us told us that they both of the team to play "for fun" and our team actually fell for it, they were literally sweats...we agreed to their offer because both of our team have nothing to lose cuz we were only playing in a losing bracket...still cant believe that whole team would be that desperate to win a meaningless battle...
Nah, the decision on neither team getting any money is one thing, but when you shove it to a team that wasn't even a question in the matter is another.
You left out the most important thing in this deal. This agreement was not about the money, this agreement was a protest against the organizers of the tournament. I do not remember all the details, Gbay99 covered this topic extensively in his video about Dignitas. This tournament organizers had random rules and treated players badly, among other things. As a result, they agreed to turn the finals into a clown fiesta as retaliation. A similar thing happened with Smash bros finals when two players picked Bayonetta and stood there doing nothing.
I agree with riot on this because it can take away from the competitiveness of the game. Imagine players buying tickets or whatever and go to a game that none of the players care if they win or lose.
That was a sweet gesture by the teams to just want to have fun and give something different to the show, and share. It’s a shame they were penalized for it. But they should have talked to their coaches about it first and probably would’ve been advised to at least play as normal because that’s what people came to see, an attempt at a serious competition that will help put the game on the map for eSports. This was still early in the history of the game and they aren’t going to want their athletes messing around like that. If the teams decide to share the prize that should be a good thing, but they still have to try to be serious in their game.
You know guys that tournament have rules and according to those rules this is fixing the game. Honestly they were lucky it was just them loosing their rewards because in most tournaments they would have to pay a huge fine and may loose their ability to play in tournaments permanently
The match wasn't fixed, the winner wasn't decided ahead of time. They both played to win they were just going to share the earnings. A win for the players and a win for the fans. Only a loss for the people in charge that needed to feel powerful.

Rather than disqualified,i think a rematch is a better solution because just look at the comments,they keep trash talk riot,idk how chaos it is when the disqualification news was out and started to viral in media

Funny thing is that it can be match fixing but it’s also still a match where there is nothing dirty Yes maybe unfair for the 3rd team or other teams and can be a show of bad sportsmanship too.But if you think about it they were still playing a game of skill.Non meta champs and at a year where bets are probably not very popular since now there are a lot of methods of betting but I don’t understand why people are using today’s logic for something almost 10 years ago.The outlets available for betting are totally different and less then today. Also it probably was fun to watch because there is action everytime. Also don’t compare in actions sports to e-sports they both are difficult but it doesn’t mean the sportsmanship concept can be the same

I mean imagine this happening in the superbowl both teams get to the superbowl and then decide to punt or try for a field goal every play. It would be funny but i would be pissed if i paid for tickets. I can see them not getting the money only because they made the agreement to split the winnings. I fully support their protest because the playing conditions were kinda shitty.

That's ridiculous... They played and entertained. Pro gaming doesn't pay all that well and helping each other is both respectful and shows humanity. Doesn't make any sense to be disqualified for agreeing to split the pot. Edit: 20k divided by 10 is only like 2k each, I really hope the third party was in on it, that's around 1300 for all 15 players... Gamers gotta stick together, yeah it's a competition but doesn't mean you can't look out for each other.
