Try making a water solution of KNO3. Mix the sawdust and make a paste, and put it out somewhere to dry in the sun. Then light it. Might make a solid rocket engine fuel.
A lot of people don't know that anything that burns, like sawdust, or sugar, can be used with an oxidizer to a certain degree. Some just burn better than others, and I think aluminum does it better.
