I played the game for almost 900 hours now and never would I have thought that SCS implemented such a system into the game, even though it seems kinda reasonable to do so. Interesting video!

I was very young when I first started playing ETS2, and I couldn't drive at all. Yet somehow managed to scramble enough money together to buy the smallest MAN there was without a loan. I drove it around for some time, and eventually as I upgraded the truck I began to have difficulty making ends meet. So I ended up with 41k in debt, and they confiscated my truck. I remember being so sad about it I think I genuinely cried lmao

Lesson learned: Pay your credit-debts from the bank, and then it's allright.

I once employed a driver and didnt give him a truck to drive with. After a few days he e-mailed me saying if he wont get a truck soon, he‘l leave.

In german truck simulator your account will be deleted at the end, there comes a message "You dont have enough money to play" and then youre in the main menu

with over 4700 hours on the game I have never been in debt that much so I never knew the game would actually sell off your truck good video keep them coming!

I am an ETS2 veteran and I've always been impressed with the level of detail SCS managed to put into this game. This genuinely amazed me. Props for testing it out!

Never knew about this in all these years... I started January 2013 playing ETS2, after my dad gave it to me as a gift and since then I play every so often the game and see how it's expanding like crazy. Nowadays with every Map-DLC, ProMods, RusMap, SibirMap, Great Steppe & Southern Region-Map (and many, many more for sure), there is just no comparison to the old, standard map. And I love to see that. I have no real idea, how much time I wasted in playing it, but I definitely know, that I have more than 5000h in it (or not really yet) And I still haven't managed to get more hrs on Steam than on the Physical copy. Still after all that time, I never knew, that they built in such a mechanic, on the other side It just makes sense. EDIT: Found some playtimes... My truck got impounded two or three times once. I was really young when I started playing, and didn't really understand money and loans, so I took out many loans, got the most expensive Mercedes Actros with the most expensive modifications, and after a while all the loans started being paid back, so my blue Actros got impounded, and then I did the same thing with a green Volvo FH16

Once that happened to my account, I was too scared because I thought I was going to lose everything, the good thing is that the game takes you back 2 days to avoid that.

It goes negative I experienced a lot of this in my first ETS2 days

Tested this so the truck wont cover the debt. Had 100k in debt for a truck that sold for 50k. Expected profile to be deleted, but simple enough it was just my truck being taken away and well, the remaining debt just remained. Disappointed? Yes. Hope yall are happy.

What if you have a personal truck when running out of money but the sale price isn't enough to cover it?

The bank literally went "dear customer, your debt is settled, feel free to borrow a loan from us again anytime. Also, we sold your truck, we're sorry about that. You should start taking jobs to fix your financial crisis, good luck! Sincerely, the bank"

Played both games for 1600+ hours (1050+ in ETS2 and 550+ in ATS) and I never knew they actually confiscate your truck. I usually play on infinite money profiles because I don't care about the company building in this game I just like to drive so I never got that far except for just the overdrawn emails when I first started playing on a legit profile.

When COVID 19 began I started a new profile and right now I have 225 drivers and 227 trucks and 47 garages 😎😎😎😎😎 More than €120 000 000 in money made and €1.l million in daily profit

The scs developers really gave everything to this game. Thats why it became so popular

That's the difference btwn Quick Jobs and doing it yourself. Quick jobs, you only hurt your pay for wrecking the truck. All fines, gas, and repair bills go to the company and they don't do crap about it. Unlike doing it yourself where mistakes will cost you. This should be mandatory for "Idiots on The Road".

This is a good video as some of us get in such a hurry that we want to make the delivery and we get carried away. We keep getting deeper in debt and if we aren't careful, we end up losing the truck and trailer.

A follow-up question: what if the player owns a truck, which the bank then confiscate, but the debt is still unsettled (i.e.: the confiscation of the truck didn't cover the debt). What happens next? How the bank's letter(s) will read?

The more I look at it, the more I think it is impossible to get in debt in this game if you know how to drive and follow the traffic laws. With all dlcs for ETS2 if you have your own truck and half mil in pocket, no hired drivers, you can explore about half of the map if not more without taking a single job.

I remember about 5 years ago something like this happened to me too. Nostalgia.

I wish they would bring back the feature to select your break hours; you used to be able to stop for as long as you liked. It would be nice to do that again without having to use the console. To be fair I think if you go under it should really be game over. That would put pressure on you to make sure you don't.

And if you run out of fuel, you just have to exit and restart the game, and you will have a little bit of fuel in your tank again. (Not sure if it still works, though)

Honestly going in debt in this game feels like a challenge.

I mean they had the bank sell any asset in their older games if you had no assets it was game over.

I started ATS, got a Volvo truck using a loan, and i have 18k in my wallet, i am doign jobs and now am scared, my truck is pretty well upgraded so i might have to drive MUCH more carefully now

yeah so i made a my way from Kirkiness all the way to argeciras in order to try get out of debt my mistake was i did that in Truckersmp where some people are just "braindead" when it comes to driving well i myself am not perfect but lets just say i got there with 50% dmg on cargo and my truck got sold even after i dragged it 300km with 80% engine dmg was most emotional after loosing my Nice truck :(
