@@vanjajaic6691 So glad to hear you succeeded and thanks for the recent update. Congratulations! A lot of the sites are over a decade old. I was a heavy smoker - 3 packs - and managed to quit for 12 years. All it took was ONE cigarette during a stressful time and I was back to smoking for the next 14 years. I just read Allen Carr's book and found it inspiring. I'm in my second day of cold turkey and it's not too bad. He's right, I think, about it being mostly in the mind. He says it's the fear factor for most people. Best wishes for everyone making the decision to be free.

The first time I did Shrooms I was pretty nervous. A friend had cobbled together a pipe with duct tape. I kept thinking about the duct tape melting or burning. As soon as that smoke hit my lungs they refused it and I coughed. Second try and I was able to draw it in, then again. As soon as it activated I was just like.... Oh I'm here. I know this place. I’ve been a smoker since college days until now. Starting in 2012 so about 10 years give or take. Im currently on day 3 of quitting. I still feel urges to smoke quite a bit and noticing that I have more time on my hands. It’s a weird feeling to not smoke every chance I get. Im in the process of learning what to do with the new time on my hands and pouring it into something productive. I’ve tried quitting before but this time I’m taking it seriously. Just know if you’re struggling trying to quit I’m right there with you, but I’m already proud of myself. If you a real smoker like I was then you know how proud you are to go 1 day without, less known 3. Let’s make it to a month together🤜🏼

When I struggle I constantly repeat to myself “it’s never gonna be any easier to resist than right now” Still have to be very mindful of staying away from triggers but I’m determined to make it to 6 months and see if the cravings completely vanish. You're probably gonna laugh at me but you're probably right. I wanted and really wanted to start smoking bcz all my neighbours around me smoke and they have a great time (including me) after we finish helping them on their field work But yea, they all smoke and they're all like: 'Ugh this feeling of smoking after a good work." So I tried and tried and tried for few years now (basically buying a pack of cigarette every 2nd or 3rd month) and I smoked 'artificially' because I did not like it and everytime I get either numb or I wanna throw up (feeling nausea). I still sometimes ask someone to give a cigarette just to try but I always feel nauseous. That is preventing me from starting smoking. I probably wasted 100 $ just trying to smoke, never enjoying it. I do train and run, so maybe my lungs don't accept tar and nicotine, can't say.
@coolmatrix15
@coolmatrix15 7 лет назад
Gon Freecss It must be hard for you to quit when everyone around is smoking but using vapes also introduce you to usinhlg cigar smoking in the long run. It would be a good idea to tell everyone around you that you've experience difficulty breathing as an alibi. If they really care then they wouldn't tell you to do smoking. I am not a doctor btw, however try to lessen the use of artificial smoking. It'll help you quitting and you'll avoid the withdrawal effects of it.

I started smoking when I was 18 and im 26 now. I was a pack a day guy. It's been a month since i quit. I had been trying to quit for a year because the negative effects had begun to take its toll on me. I resorted to eating a lot of food especially sweets to cope with withdrawal symptoms for the first two weeks. Then it got better but i still get strong urges to smoke occasionally. Smoking's been a big part of my adult life and i guess a cigarette's been there with me through every lows and highs of my life, even more than people. I just think quiting is so difficult not only due to the physical and chemical addiction but also because you build an emotional bond with it over time. Im gonna stay mentally strong and remember to take this one day at a time. Whoever is reading this, My Friend, If you're trying to quit, stay strong and keep your head up because the positives immensely outweigh the negatives.

In this boat. 30 years of multiple packs a day. Sadly I already screwed myself permanently as I have early stage emphysema. Cant do much without being unable to breath. I had childhood asthma which I outgrew, and as a typical teen thought I was invincible and began smoking and the decades just flew by. I didnt realize how bad my lungs were until it was way too late. I was trying to shovel a driveway last winter and I couldnt shovel more than 1 minute without having to sit down, and even sitting it would take 5-10 minutes to catch mybreath. Little by little through the years my stamina would shrink and I just didnt pay attention until it was so bad that it was hard to not notice. Always told myself I'd quit when I needed to or that I would notice the effect on my body and deal with it but I simply didn't notice until the damage was long done and mostly irreversible. I'll be yet another statistic in roughly 10-15 years.

Knowing it's possible to fix your life knowing there's people out there that have done what I thought was impossible gives me hope I will make it through as well. Those who share their experiences don't know how much it helps when you're about to give up, it gives you the strength knowing somone who actully know what it's like to go through this tell you it's possible, it's not the same somone telling you you can do it when they have no idea what it's like, but hearing somone who knows what it's like that helps a lot since you understand it firsthand and made it out gives so much hope. so thanks for sharing.

I did quit smoking and i feel so proud when i think about it.... Do yourself a good favour and quit today...because after you quit you start to say omg!!!! Why did i even smoke at the first place....so Do It.....

I smoked for 25-30 years. I got sick and didn't want to smoke. When I got better I didn't want to smoke. About 5-6 years later I had what i call "my female" trouble. Mother-in-law, e-wife and female step daughter. All at once. I started smoking again. Another 2 years later got sick again and stopped smoking. Now it's been 25 years since I smoked. Haven't been sick and got away from the rest!! :) I'm so glad I quit for good. It's amazing how much of your life is wasted because you're looking for them or having to stop everything to go outside to smoke. Waiting anxiously to get somewhere that you can smoke. So, So glad i don't anymore. Not to mention the cost ! Yikes!!

It got to the point where in the past year i suffered severe shortness of breath, thought i would die several times while laying in bed bc i just couldnt catch a breath. Had to feel my heartbeat and thought im done every second. Had another panic attack bc of my breathing 3 days ago. Haven’t smoked in 3 days now. Taking nicotinelle tablets to help stop my desire. I feel so good after only 3 days. My breathing is already better. I will quit completely this time after my last attempt failed. I started smoking when I was 15. I was a chain smoker for 8 years and when I became 23, I decided to quit smoking. It took me around 1.5 years to fully stop it. Now I am 25 and I am proud of myself that I was able to quit it. If you want to quit smoking, your first step should be to start hating smoking and realizing that you have to quit it today or tomorrow. If I can quit it then you can do it too. Good luck NOTE : It's March 2023 and still i dont smoke and I'm really happy that i quit

One of the most important things I learned just before I quit smoking (40 years ago), was that aside from all the paradoxical effects of nicotine withdrawal (morning sleepiness, nighttime insomnia, mood swings, etc.), was this: *your cravings will arise about as often as you smoke, and will remain intense for only about 5 to 7 minutes, which is about as long as it takes to smoke a cigarette.* So here’s the key to getting rid of the habit, once you’ve determined that you are DONE with it and want to stop forever: *As soon as the craving kicks in, get up and do something physical that requires your whole body to do, AND your focus- sweep a garage, shovel a dirt pile from one side of the yard to the other, then back- until the craving stops. As you do this, the cravings will become farther and farther apart, and less and less intense, until you no longer need cigarettes at all.* You MUST NOT go drinking- stay out of pubs, and out of the cars and homes of people who smoke, for a month. *Youll know you’ve quit for real when you smell tobacco smoke, and your first thought is “Echhhh... gross.”*

Did everything they told me to do watch my diet, excised and took my prevention medication I felt great was like a new man then jan 2024 I had a widow maker heart attack I survived but it was a close call. Any March 2024 I have recovered from my heart attack, was back at work felt great again. My wife still smokes and I was feeling super confident and thought what is one smoke going to hurt….. very bad move it triggered an asthma flare up! I have just given up again on may the 4th, this time my wife and daughter have agreed to stop as well we are all going to do it together! I started at 17. My then boyfriend made me try it and get on it. I smoked for 10 years and now I'm smoke free for 8 years! But in those 10 years I tried to quit at least a hundred times. So just don't blame yourself if you couldn't do it. Don't fall in that pit of self-shaming. We are human, it happens it's absolutely normal. 🙄 I quit for a week then I started again. 🙄 I quit for 2 weeks then started again. 🙄 2 days, then back to smoke! 🙄 I quit for 2 months. Then again smoking. 🙄 I quit even for 8 months!! and then I smoked again! Just never give up trying. Even if you are 100 years old... Even if nobody believes in you, that you can do it... Only YOU can do it. You are capable to do that. Don't punish yourself, love yourself, compliment yourself. Even if it's just some hours without cigarettes... YOU did it. Wish you all the best! @@brunoderkameramann3989 I used to envy my friends who never smoked that they didn't have the craving for a cigarette. But then I thought that they don't have a craving for it as I do not have a craving for heroine for example, I'm sure there are addicts out there envying me for that. That thought helped me battling the cravings when they arrived and they eventually disappeared, but sometimes the thought of "let's just have ONE for the party" comes in. Don't do it!

I quit smoking in December 2013 cold turkey after 40 years and 2 packs a day. I'll admit the first week after is the hardest. I kept thinking ( a week ago I was smoking.) BEST ADVICE: You yourself will know when it's time for you to quit. Not because of New Years Eve, not because someone tells you to quit. DO THIS FOR YOURSELF !!!!!!!!!! GET RID OF ALL TEMPTATIONS When you decide to quit, make sure there are NO CIGARTETTES ANYWHERE in the house, in the car, ANYWHERE. Focus on the goal and not on "I need a cigartette". Good Luck and Stay Strong.

Yes, for me the challenge really started when the constantly smoking people were back in my life again. After a month being far from any. Alone, the battle was fine. The urge for a cig doesn't last so with none around, it's way easier to let go of that urge. Then, I got back to the city and the constant smokers. Break : cig. Drink : cig. Between drinks : cigs. A 5mins walk : cig. They want to talk to you : cig. That was so hard. Right now I still don't feel capable of resisting to it because of higher than normal stress, so I cut off a lot of social interactions. That's sadly necessary because you can't expect people to quit, and I've noticed most smokers feel ashamed around a former smoker, and they lash out, like " It's easier for you than it would be for me because you never been that big of a smoker ". Heard that one a lot, especially from girls. The last thing you need during a challenge against yourself is someone putting himself in the center of it. For all these reasons, social environment has to change, at least for a time. But you do get to realize that cigarette really is associated with junkies talks and habits.

I’ve quit smoking for a year and 3 months now. My last cigarette was in front of my house. I was smoking while it was hot as hell because it was during the summertime n I remember looking at my reflection on the window of my car and thinking, how disgusting I looked holding a cigarette and when I threw my pack away I remember going inside to play with my son and remembering thinking he doesn’t deserve to smell like cigarettes after I just got done smoking and how he doesn’t deserve to have me smell like cigarettes around him. That smell lingers for a couple hours and it’s probably one of the worst things u can do around a kid because kids pick up on habits that u do in front of them. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself and my family. Before u even quit, don’t pick up on it and if you’re trying to quit, make sure your “why” is greater than anything u believe in.
