I dont think therapist realise the damage they can inflict on their patients. You trust them with your emotions, your mind. Dont destroy it please. People wouldnt go to a heart surgeon who just quit mid operation or «accidentaly» cut over a vein. So please, if any therapist are reading this, dont let your clients hanging. They trust you with their feelings, but also their heart.

I am listening to this because me and my therapist broke up two days ago. I told her so many things about my childhood and my life and I felt like I was finally talking with someone that I could trust, etc., etc. the thing that superseded all of that was that I came to an appointment 12 minutes late. I think it was my third time being late since February, so six months. And I was paying her $100 an hour out of my own pocket. It’s not like I didn’t pay her. The break up took about 5 to 10 minutes and I opted to leave and she still got paid for that appointment two days ago, which wasn’t really an appointment except for get me off of her calendar. It’s all good though, she said she thinks I’ll be fine because I’m good at figuring things out.

I've done my fair share of "therapy dating" and finding a therapist fit is difficult. It's been 14 years and I'm in a therapy break right now.

How did they do it? Were they honest, or did they play games and give sudden ultimatums or suddenly have no appointments. Constantly changing appointments is another ruse.

When your therapist repeatedly "forgets" about your appointment it's not a good sign either. Don't buy their excuses. All of this seems funny, in retrospect.

Mine did yesterday, but she didn't come right out with it. She instead maneuvered Me into firing Her so she could be let off the hook. I was sideswiped by her manipulation.

Told to leave 20 minutes into the session because my therapist said my distress was ‘making her feel uncomfortable ‘….

most therapists just want $$$

Most should want money for their services and time. It’s hard work for the therapist and the client if it’s done right.

@@Christ_Is_Life10-10 you can't exploit vulnerable people and not give them good advice.

@@Trump4prisonxxx therapists are obligated to provide competent services. Many are “good enough “ therapists who aren’t necessarily unethical but don’t have specialist training to deal with certain problems. And it’s not their job to give advice. It’s a collaboration to help the client find solutions to their presenting concerns and accept things that cannot be changed. The outcome can be subjective but it involves active participation from the client. Many don’t like to practice skills between sessions or have personalities disorders that cause them to become stuck in their thinking and behavior. In that case it can take a long time for the client to gain insight to make an effective change.

@@Christ_Is_Life10-10 telling me not to "Think that way" or saying my trauma "could be worse" or "is not that bad" is a waste of money.
@Christ_Is_Life10-10
@Christ_Is_Life10-10 7 месяцев назад
@@Trump4prisonxxx absolutely. I agree. xIf the therapist actually said those words it’s unethical. If it was your interpretation that would be an opportunity to process that with the therapist. I hope you find the right therapist who specializes in trauma. You deserve to feel valued and heard.
