This month jagex has been pumping out updates and poll blogs at a very quick rate. This has had huge effects on the runescape economy, and there is a lot to look at.
One huge section of the PvM market is has been crashing significantly this month. On top of that we are going to be covering the new forestry update that came out just this month. Foresty has added a ton of new items, as well as its effected exisiting items.

I wasn’t worried about toa bots at first, I chalked the shadow dipping 200m up to a bunch of people panic selling when they heard about toa bots existing, fang hitting 20m is starting to seem like market over saturation though, fang might settle at 12-15m if this problem persists

The state of botting is really unbelievable in this game, it's all in plain sight. We HAVE to come together as a community on this one and put the anti-cheating team to the fire. They are plainly NOT doing their job, even when the bots have been running for months and are mass reported. GAME INTEGRITY MATTERS MORE THAN UPDATES

Jagex won't ban the majority of their playerbase though. Investors won't like that so the compromise it to ban bots but very slowly.

The thing with the onyx is the now more widely known ring of stone and its ability to get you unstuck from sarachnis webs increasing kills per hour quite a bit which means more clues per hour. Even ring of coins and ring of nature went up like 1-2m because of this as well.

The fang also had a massive spike in price when DT2 released and was BIS for several of the bosses. Bots are an issue but it was also an temporary jump up to 50m.

Yeah I would say its probably because more shadows are coming into the game and TOA is so popular with players and bots who use the shadow, I know I get through ALOT of chaos runes..

wrong. 70% of the playerbase is NOT using the warped sceptre. How completely deluded do you have to be to think 7 out of 10 people you see in-game are holding the staff. Like 1 in 500 people I walk by are using the staff. Crazy how people just make up compete bullshit and run with it @@burntfish123

^ I walked by the Barbarian Outpost yesterday & saw a Level 3 Fishing bot farm. All level 1 stats besides fishing. It’s pathetic how Jagex really doesn’t give a shit anymore. Fix the fucking game.

Both the Tummeken Shadow and Warped Scepter use chaos runes pretty quickly so that's probably why they are increasing in price.

It was always going to happen. TOA is just *much* more GP/hr than raids 1 and raids 2, so it's just the law of scarcity in action. Shadows enter the game at a larger rate than Tbows, not only because it has a higher droprate, but because more people do Raids 3 than Raids 1.

toa bots went public early october bringing in a ton of toa drops and the bots were doing 500-600 invocation raids so most likely using a lot of chaos runes for casts

Chaos runes are increasing along with death runes for the trident bots in TOA. Also, more shadows = more chaos runes needed.

SirPugger mentioned a new bot farm for 500 ToAs. This was released 10/8. All these prices are dipping about that time. Pretty clear what's causing these price crashes.

Twisted sceptre might *somewhat* account for the Chaos rune price, but it almost certainly would not account for the Death Rune price rise that coincided. When chaos runes went from 44 to 110, death runes went from 90 to 165. Blood runes were basically unaffected, going from 190 to 207 in that same period. I'm assuming Bear magic defense change has something to do with it, as more and more people are farming Callisto with magic and thus dumping chaos and death runes on freezes, though since Callisto is in the wilderness you would think it would primarily be rev ether for accursed sceptre increasing in price. Another possibility is that with the increasing botting of raids this results in increased cost of supplies, but potions have started all coming down during the time when runes are going up. It's all just so interesting and I would love a deeper dive into this.

Chaos runes/onyx has a lot to do with ring of stone at sarachnis imo. Became popular on RU-vid recently after being showcased by gnomonkey and saebae. Price on the ring doubled from like 1.4m to 3m

Flipping on the first day of forestry part 2 was wild. Sold a rune felling axe for 10m. Probably make 20m that day. By day 2 things already dropped off a lot.

I don't play OSRS but wouldn't the warped sceptre be the reason chaos runes spiked in price? As a result of the increased demand the price of chaos runes increased meaning that onyx's became more expensive to obtain which is why the onyx jewellery went up in price.

idk if there are cox bots or not, point being cox items haven't had a downtrend, but toa items offer bis stats in their respective uses, so i consider this a dip to be bought up :) i suspect shadow is going down due to simply higher supply than demand, hence rest of toa items are taking a hit. could also be speculation that shadow will not have a usecase in the colosseum so people are selling that for t-bow and whatnot.

So I bought a fang at 35 mil on 9/5 after grinding for 2 1/2 weeks straight of 7+ herb runs a day and crazy drops at Barrows to make the coin. Not even mad, just shocked that TOA can be botted.

Funny you mention bots, seems they all went to ToA because Zulrah Scales over the past month have gone up. Still much lower than a year ago but pretty steady increase.

That’s why WoW raids are cool, that insanely OP weapon that’s mega rare is soul bound… A big flaw with RS gear in my opinion. At least you can’t trade things like the mage capes, void armor etc

I think a big part of runescape is trading (apart from IM modes) so idk if insanely OP weapons should be made untradable. I believe there needs to be a skill/option like RS3's invention that serves as a huge gold sink and makes combat items permanently untradable. However, the gear bonuses etc. it provides should be an extra 1-2% edge over normal maxed gear so the average player wont have to rely on it.

ive had a 100m bank for ages (i buy bonds with gp) my suggestion: go for bowfa/full crystal, you can literally do 90% of the bosses with bowfa, after that do raids or something to get big drops /./

I paid 150m, before the nerf, and i still think its worth much more than that, you dont need to train attack as with other weapons and slayer can be done with a dragonfire shield with increased dps over a dragon defender.

Idk if this would affect the market or not, but there are hackers taking over unused accounts to sell bonds. They use fake cards and get your account into a lot of debt and buy bonds. They sold a lot of my items so I was wondering if maybe the same hackers are just selling peoples stuff on GE for minimum price as they do their bond scam?

I'm trying to save up money to buy Masori while it's really cheap, wait for the bots to get nuked, and then fortify it when Armadyl pieces go back down in price.
