what i ate in a week in hawaii 

So I’m from Hawai’i. Because the majority of the race here is Asians and majority consist of Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean (there’s of course Vietnamese, some Indian, Taiwanese, etc) that a lot of the grocery stores are catered to us Asians compared to mainland typically grocery stores. So glad you came here! Unfortunately during winter it tends to rain a lot here, but it feels nice when it’s sunny here 24/7

As a local born and raised I love that you tried food of our culture and shared that with the world. I’m glad you had a great experience and great pronunciation at the end 😉

Actually the pastry you've had (kouign-amann) is a french pastry (emblematic of French Brittany cuisine). It is traditionally made from puff pastry, semi-salted butter and caramelized sugar. And yeah its delicious, especially when eaten fresh from the oven 😍😋

Logan, there is a really great bakery in Kanata that makes awesome kouign-amann! It’s called La Maison du Kouign-Amann.

the abc store 😭. i stayed at a resort that had a abc store and i literally went there everyday. the shrimp truck was also a highlight, i wish i could go back to Hawaii

The little spots could be sand...its a windy, sandy place. My dad is from a port town in Sicily, Mazara del'Vallo, and would, at times, have to sweep sand out of the house especially when the winds blew from Africa....you can see it in the air. If it doesn't move, my guess is sand.

I don't know for sure what that stuff is in the bathroom, but from the looks of it, it's waste from termites. They make small holes and you don't always notice them right away.

The kouing Amann is a French patisserie it is mostly made of butter and the best way to eat it is when it hot it is really tender and the taste of the butter and sugar comes out super good 👍 love ur videos

My first time in Honolulu a few years back we were in the water and a sea turtle came up like 3 feet away while swimming it was beautifulll

Hawaii is home for me, so this makes me miss Hawaii local food. Pokè in Hawaii is more authentic than how they accommodate the pokè on the mainland.

The stuff on the counter could be wood-flour; if there's a type of bug living in the wood furniture, they eat it and they push the remaining stuff outside. Maybe that's what you were wiping away.

Try the pineapple coconut water! I think it's way better than original. A bit of pineapple juice added to it makes it sweeter and more refreshing. Also way better if you stick the coconut water in the freezer for a bit. It never tastes as good at room temperature.

Next time you come baxk to Hawaii try eating away drom Waikiki/town area.

I lived in Hawaii for two years working and I’m sorry but locals automatically treated me different because I’m Caucasian working in tourist industry. Food was wonderful but I never felt the sense of community I wished for otherwise I would have made permanent residency.
