Chevy and ford have hybrids to compensate for the fuel economy tax. Dodge has not invested in this and now has to find a vehicle to fill that slot or face a heavy fine.

Well I seen it to 😔 but when I heard the 6 Pack and I remember when they put a incline in a Challenger and was testing it out at one of those classic meets I think in Detroit looking like a drag pack .... Pittyfull 🤦🏾 but they will sell more 6 Pack than the E.V.

The specs on paper so far aren’t great, but my god is that interior and exterior a MASSIVE improvement. I love the new retro look, and the interior no longer looks like it’s from 12 years ago. Dodge should really figure out a way to make this car lighter, 3 tons is too heavy for a muscle sedan.

Hear me out now… Maybe they’re doing this on purpose because they want to sell more hellcat crate engines as a business model. I mean they beat all the admissions regulations with this new gen, yet still get to sell a car where you can easily swap in a crate motor, and now they’ve created a new market.

SPOT ON! Nobody who wants a MuscleCar is going to want to seek one of these when theres still V8 options elsewhere! Only way id buy one of these would simply be one of the first to do a 392 or Hellcat conversion & make content. If i really want a i-6 I would just stick to the options that are already out. Mopars need to be V8s thats what saved the brand in 2003 with the Ram & the cars 2 years later

Kinda sad to hear the hemis goin away but I've been kinda hoping for a new inline 6 with or without a turbo to come back. For a daily driver you can get good mileage and power out of them and then just throw some turbos or turbo on and boom even more power. Plus the old slant sixs were good motors. Ran forever, obviously low power helps that but they never really had any major known issues. Yes I know the imports have them but they are more sports like cars and/or have their own known issues. Not saying this one will be like the good ole slant sixes after all they are going to be boosted but we'll just have to wait an see

Hear me out. Just like the 70s gas crisis the big engines were underpowered with low compression but had potential for BIG power. Yes the new one will be heavier but the upgrading potential could be better with AWD and hellcat swap or even a turbo Hemi build

Speaking all FACTS I literally just said this in my recent video 😂 if i wanted an Inline 6 id get a BMW over a dodge especially for the price because we know dealer markups are going to be crazy🤦🏽‍♂️

For anyone wondering why Stellantis (Dodge is not calling the shots these days) is ditching the V8 with the quickness and not looking back, it's $$$$. The emissions aren't stopping them from making a new V8 accurate. Still, it would cost way more to make a new V8 using either a modernized Hemi or one from scratch (basically a V8 Pentastar) than taking the existing 2.0L I4 Hurricane engine and adding two cylinders. It and the new I6 are made on the same production line, and they can be used in every application that needs a more significant engine while only needing an SO and HO variant in 3.0L of displacement. The Hemi, in comparison, had multiple displacements with multiple arrangements between the vehicle segments. I'd rather them keep the Hemi and modernize them like everyone else, but besides the EPA fines, Stellantis also wants to reduce the overall cost of production across the board. Ram was initially supposed to get the V8 Cummins in addition to the 5.7 Hemi. It never happened because Fiat decided to ditch it in favor of the EcoDiesel. Since Fiat made the V6 under VM Motori, it was cheaper to use it than to source another engine from Cummins. It also got better emissions since it was a V6, so they killed two birds with one stone. The Cummins V8 had a bad rep because of the emissions system failures and the crankshafts breaking (botched wiring to the infectors would short and dump fuel into the cylinders, making the engine hydrolock), but the EcoDiesel arguably was worse overall. VM Motori originally made the engine for a crossover or commuter SUV, not a truck, so the underbuilt crank would flex under load and blow out the bottom end. They also had EGR failures that would basically drown the engine with coolant. Had they used it, Ram probably would have fixed the wiring issues with the V8. Outside of the emissions and injector wiring issues, the scarcity of the turbos was the only other issue the V8 had when they would fail. Since Ram probably would have sold tons of trucks with it compared to Nisan with the Titan XD, there would have been a much better supply of parts. Cummins and Ram go together like cheese on a cheeseburger, so besides the fact that the 1500 would have had two V8 options, which is really what drives people to that truck in the first place, it would have just been a better fit overall. If they needed a 6-cylinder in the mix, they could have made one out of the V8 by changing the block angle to 60 degrees and chopping off two cylinders.

I hated the way the new mustangs looked until i saw one in person so maybe this is a car that will have to grow on you.. MAYBE. But none of the electic cars are a good move for dodge. It's got two motors in direct drive so it's getting much more of that power to the ground than a 670 hp engine using a transmission and two diffs but it's still way too heavy and big. I think part of that was the need to include room for an ICE drive train.

Every DODGE DEMON , Charger And CHALLENGER owners should make a tons of RU-vid, TikTok, IG Video with a Hundred Plus current owners and say “I Won’t buy the New Dodge 2024 Anything” .. and let’s see how dodge responds

I'm predicting it now: the six pack will be the best bang for your buck. If dodge did their homework right with that engine, it should be too easy to make 630+ hp with just a tune

An inline 6 is a gloriously simple design. Yeah forced induction makes it a bit more complex but not terribly so. It's just the fear of something different. I say all this as a GM V8 guy.

3.6L straight 6 sounds nice tbh, for a base Charger. 3.6L stroked to 3.9L TT for a "sporty coupe" and the fully electric for a luxury variant. Get the base Charger and swap a Hellcat or Demon crate V8.

3:41 exactly!!!!!!!!! why couldnt they slam two hurricane inline 4s (the inline 4 in the hornet and 4xe cars is also a hurricane) together to make a TT 4L v8? plus they already got the 4xe system working on the i4, slap it on the v8 and modify it a bit. 400v/w starter generator, twin electric turbos, electric motor in the transmission, and an electric motor in the rear, itd be a monster!
