Wow, first time I run into this channel. (Posted 5 years ago.) Very impressive, for someone in zone 4. Have some of the plants, but this year I am up grading, because its no longer very productive. Issue, I have 100 year old trees with shade. But the ones in front were victims of straight winds, which in this case is a good thing. Bad thing, plants with thorns and ivy which decided to show up.
@@BrokenGround I'm in Central Minnesota cold. My property is located in the middle of town, I was able to take advantage of the "Grandfather Clause". I have 1/3 acre, lined with 100 year old trees, plus I added some more fruit trees. The front yard has quite a bit of sun, lost three trees to straight winds.
@@carmenortiz5294 So we definitely have very similar climates, except of course you get a lot more rain. I'd love to see your 100 year old trees! Though, you're right, they will cast a ton of shade.
In January I go thru my trash and retrieve garden catalogs I have thrown away as I have a guilty conscience that I may have thrown away something I need. I just retrieved my Vermont Bean Company catalog since I all of a sudden want to try the Tiger's Eye shell bean as it has a thin skin and is better for refried beans. (The Vermont Bean Company is now from Wisconsin, and is probably owned by Jung's). I just started instagram and have photos of my grapes, sweet potatoes, wild plum cross with peach, greenhouse peach, peach x sand cherry, strawberry patch, etc. 1opal6mt (Broadus, MT)
