Ooo that’s the worst. All four of mine were severely impacted so I had them surgically removed all at once. Lived off of jello cups, single serve mashed potato cups, protein shakes and puréed fruit. The temperature sensitivity is no joke!!!
I had to get my i think it was my 12 year old moler taken out (i was 14 and it was causing a problem) i was eating suger free gellow because my docter said so
I had to have them all removed at once too! I lived off of instant potatoes with a crap ton of salt (only time I really liked salt) and the squeeze apple sauces
i feel this. i got my wisdom teeth out in 2022, but may 21st i got my tonsils out. it’s been horrible, but i’m on the mend now! i’ve had to eat a lot of the same things as you and it sucks. hope you feel better soon!!
im gonna be so fr rn, when i got my tonsils out I felt like shit for a bit over a month but after you heal it feels so nice not having them. mine were very enlarged so i had trouble swallowing, would get strep once a month, and sometimes tonsillitis, but the breaking point was when I got mono. They had recommended the surgery when I was younger and got scarlet fever but then last summer I got mono AND tonsillitis. When I finally went to the doctor they said that if i don't get them removed I would have serious risks in the future. Got em out and I haven't gotten sick then. Hope your recovery is going well and I wish you the best 🙏
@@sophia_col oh my gosh! yeah it sounds like you definitely needed them out lol. i feel a lot better! today was actually my 2 week mark so i've been cleared to eat regular food and resume regular activity. i had to get mine out because i had tonsillitis and strep ALL the time, and when i didn't my tonsils were still very enlarged. i also had lots of tonsil stones (gross). i'm looking forward to when i'm healed completely and there's no soreness! also excited to not be sick all the time. thank you for the well wishes!
@@xlunarmiax I'm glad everything is going well for you! Hopefully you won't get sick as much, its been a life changer for me so maybe it will be for you too 🙏
Man the fact that you did eat is already better than me. I just ignored my need for food most days when I got all four of mine out. It hurt way too much.
I ate ice cream 3 times a day along with jello. My brother made sure I got my pain meds on time. He even spent time with me. (We used to hate each other)
Im recovering from mine too, i just got my packing out and I'm almost healed. I had a horrible time the first week and never thought I would eat normal again LOL. You got this Bianca! 💜
Ugh, I remember when I got mine out, it's no fun afterwards, but you'll feel better soon. It was soup, those Carnation Instant breakfast things, & ice cream for a bit
My husband had to have all four removed on one go. I had to get creative and puree veggies into mashed potatoes and blend various soups just to make sure his nutritional level is still high up there as he's been struggling with gaining weight for years now. (He's 5'8ish and was 125 pounds when the surgery happened.) Blending the veggies and the soups made a whole lot of difference!
I’m so glad I recovered quickly. I was supposed to take the next couple days up to a week off from classes, but went to class the day of surgery.. I was also eating solid foods from the start (didn’t have much choice though as I only had access to what the dining hall serves). Listen to your body though. Just because I didn’t have much pain doesn’t mean it will be the same.. in all likelihood if I weren’t chronically ill and almost constantly in pain I wouldn’t have been able to eat solid foods immediately.
Got mine out not too long ago, over a month recovered. I was living on puffing, ramen noodles, soup, and other not-so-healthy mushy things. I found a way to chew meat by using your hand and pressing the meat onto your front teeth. For things like potato chunks (like in vegetable soup) just use your tongue. Ice packs are a best friend
You can have mashed potatoes 🍠 Or homemade smoothie bowls 🍓 You can also have yogurt - You can mix the yogurt with: 1.) honey 2.) jam 3.) avocado 4.) apple sauce 5.) mashed banana
As someone who recently had to deal with this, I recommend foods like: -soft scrambled eggs with Boursin or any other soft cheese and herbs -chopped jello cups with cool whip -try your hand at making panna cotta! (It’s a lot easier than you think!) -any kind of custard -egg drop soup -add spices to your apple sauce! -puree other fruits and add fruits to that too! -chia seed pudding -overnight oats Just because you can’t chew and swallow too much doesn’t mean that you can’t eat well!
I only had to be careful for like two days. After that my mouth felt pretty much normal. But the nausea I experienced for a full seven days. what a nightmare that was.
All 4 impacted. I was in the army and the dentist numbed me and went to work. The nurse had her knee on my chest while the dr told me to keep my jaw still while he broke my teeth to get them out. I’ll never forget that sound. Then I drove myself to the PX and home.
I ate a lot of mashed potatoes and lentils when i had my wisdom teeth out. Lentils were cooked soft enough to be able to just swallow it. I was sooooo swollen when mine came out. So happy i never have to do it again.
In Canada when we get our wisdom teeth out they give us something called robax. It's ibuprofen and muscle relaxer and it helps with the jaw thing so much.
When I got mine out I would wake up in the middle of the night crying in pain. The meds they gave me that were supposed to be super strong made the pain worse. Acetaminophen saved me it worked like magic I genuinely felt no pain on it.
When I got mine out, I exclusively used those super tiny appiterizer plastic spoons you get at the dollar store. I ate a Lot of the chicken and stars soup cans as well. The star noodles were small enough to just swallow.
hope you feel better soon! I totally get it the feeling lol, I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out at once + an impacted eye tooth far up in my gums so I had five in one surgery, I was eating chicken noodle soup non stop for days, and sometimes I was too dizzy to eat at the table so I sat myself on the floor 😅
I’ve had a bunch of oral surgeries due to Sjögrens Syndrome. If you’re struggling with enough calories, I highly recommend ultra soft cookies like those Lofthpuse ones. Cake is also a good calorie boost. Drinkable yogurts are great for protein. (Trader Joe’s Greek yogurt has huge amounts of protein- stir in 2 tbsp of milk and bam! It’s now drinkable. Yes, you could just eat yogurt but I dislike the texture and drinking it is even easier.) Puréed soups like squash soups are good for the vitamins/minerals you get from fruits, as are those smoothies.
I just got mine out 4 days ago and I’ve finally graduated to scrambled eggs, “cream of” soups, whipped mashed potatoes. Also, if you blend silken tofu with a frozen banana, milk/coconut water, and chocolate powder, you can get a really easy protein smoothie.
I can kinda relate😃 had jaw pain so bad I couldn't eat, speak or even open my mouth for like 2 weeks had to be out of school for the time being, also hope you get better 👍
Apples sauce and that mango smoothie drink is a very common combo for me anytime I’m on my ADHD meds and my appetite is feeling particularly suppressed
I couldn’t rlly eat well for a whole week and even after that it was still painful! For the ppl who couldn’t swallow the pills, just smash them well and add some water and honey to it and then mix it together.
Recommendation :: if they still cause you pain, grits are delicious, if you like Mac and cheese you can even add on a few thin slices of cheese to give them more flavor.
I hope you have healed well! I am looking forward to getting two wisdom teeth out this autumn. One will get pulled, the other cut out. It will be nice when it is done, but not looking forward to it.
I had all of mine removed the same day and that same day i was eating everything i would normally eat (went to el paso and had the burrito locos 10/10 i order it almost everytime i go) ((I flushed out my stitches pretty well after and brushed my teeth after every meal, i never experienced any swelling but it DID hurt (none of my plugs for my wisdom teeth came out and if they did they never became drysocket)), sending all the love to you because i know how painful this can be
I just had (not crunchy) fries everyday. They fit better than a spoon, you can "chew" with your front teeth and tongue and they taste WAY better 😂 Get well soon!
I lived on mashed potatoes when I had my wisdom teeth out. I think the worst thing about it other than recovery was how severely bruised my face was. I hope you recover quickly and can eat your favorite foods again soon!
I feel you, I had my wisdoms and my 4 front molars removed all at once because my mouth was seriously over crowded for braces. Any day that came where I was able to go up in the category of food I was allowed to eat, I took it. Thankfully, my pain was basically non-existence and my healing was going fast. I am a picky eater, even more so when I don't feel good as most of the time if I'm under the weather I go on a fast basicslly cuz I don't ever feel hunger during that time. All I ate was cinnoman apple sauce, that's all lol. When I tell you the way I was in ✨️bliss✨️ when I was finally able to eat my mom's chili. I was so happy lol.
Meanwhile, I still have the three of mine, just sitting in my mouth, doing nothing. They don't hurt or anything, but I def have one poking out through the gums. I'll most likely have to get them removed at some point down the line, and I dread the day because I've had teeth removed before and it's so not cool. Hope you're feeling loads better now! :)
My Vó made me Sagu. We are not Brazilian at all. My grandparents and most of my mom's side were missionaries that frequently traveled to Brazil. I was raised with a few Brazilian traditions, language (not fluent like they are tho), and styles. Sagu is a Brazilian dessert of tapioca. Usually made with Wine but we were kids so she substituted with grape juice. It's my favorite and I'm always looking around her fridges for it lol.
I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed and I didn’t have any pain at all. I didn’t even have to take painkillers. It was weird because I’ve heard it’s painful. I feel like that was a blessing that I didn’t have any trouble. I feel so bad for all those who’ve had to deal with the pain of them.
I like how I had my wisdom teeth out all four at the same time. I drank a half gallon of pineapple juice before and my doctors did really amazing, I felt comfortable and could eat just a few hours after
My dentist doesn't like taking them all out at the same time, she usually does one side at a time unless it's absolutely necessary to do them all at the same time. I only needed my top ones out, so after getting my first one yanked, I went home, waitied for the bleeding to stop and then had some spicy curry haha She flat out told me that she wants things to be easier on her patients, despite it being more work.
I've had to do this three times: once when I got my canines and two molars in the back removed, once when I got my wisdom teeth removed, and once when I had to get my canine drilled out(had baby canines still in when I got my braces. I had to have them removed, and then have chains get put on my adult canines to drag them into place. One of my adult canines had to be drilled out because it destroyed one of my other tooth's root.) I feel ya with the experience. It's always a fun experience of not being able to eat solid foods, hot foods, and not being able to open your jaw all the way for x amount of time.
I remember having that super sore jaw for a few days after my surgery. I had all of mine taken out at once, as they were all impacted. They weren't causing pain (yet), but they were starting to poke through the gums. However, I ended up with permament nerve damage, which thankfully, hasn't really affected me at all.
oh dam i had kfc mashed potatos and gravy as soon as i woke up from getting mine done which was at like. 8 am lmaooo... i have a picture somewhere of me eating sliced up hot dog pieces that night 😂😂
Hi! I was wondering if you had any mushy baby food recommendations for after wisdom tooth surgery? I’m getting mine removed tomorrow so I figured I’d ask lol. That avocado honestly looks great bc the only thing I’d really considered eating was apple sauce and bananas. Also was there anything you did to about thinking about being miserable? Thank you ❤️ love your vids btw
no because i am so glad i got my dad's genes and was born without wisdom teeth. the relief when my dentist confusedly asked if i already had them removed (when i hadn't).
You can heat it up it just cant be super super hot. I always had mine slighty warm after i got mine taken out mind you i got all 4 taken out at once it was horrible. I hope you feel better soon❤
I just got mine out last Monday. I here ya girl. Love me some mashed potatoes. Interestingly enough my friend told me I know have 4 new inventory slots for mints in my mouth. 🤷♀️
Im surprised they took youur tonsil out at your age. I had to go through the every time I'm off an antibiotic,to get tonsillitis. My dad had to fight. I had a major hemorrhage 2 weeks later. I feel for you. Gett well soon! Never sick after yhey wete gone🎉
it’s crazy how different people react to getting their wisdom out. i got them out and ate hot pho when i got home from it and was eating solids a few hours after that😂
When I had my wisdom teeth removed I ate a ton of silken tofu with a bit of sauce, egg drop soup, applesauce, jello, kefir and instant mashed potatos made into a soup. And smoothies of course. Feel better! And definitely use that nasty medicated mouthwash to keep the wound clean. ❤.
