What I eat in a day 2020 realistic for losing weight over 40 for women.
What I eat in a day, a full day of eating to get lean and the best diet to lose weight over 40. Cook with me and I will show you how to lose weight and my weight loss transformation journey on a six-week shred. I show you my check in every week with my weight, measurements and photos.
I show you my typical day on a calorie deficit for weight loss and how to burn fat with some of the ingredients I use for cooking. This is what I eat in a day 2020, quarantine edition with quick and easy meals with healthy snacks, to stay fit and healthy.
This is a realistic diet of 1800 calories a day for an active woman. They are healthy recipes for weight loss meals that will help you feel satisfied throughout the day. With a healthy balance of protein, carbs, and fats.
I hope you like these meal ideas which will help you live a healthy lifestyle. I also run through my workout routine to lose fat and will be touching on this in the next video.

Breakfast: protein pancakes
3 eggs
20 grams (0.7 oz).
1 scoop protein powder
(optional banana)
Blueberries
Skinny sauce
Lunch: Marinated chicken breast, potato wedges, and black bean salsa
Chicken breast
Spoonful of low-fat yogurt
A teaspoon each of cumin, coriander, turmeric, garlic paste
Handful spinach
5 chopped cherry tomatoes
½ avocado
Spring Onion
1/2 fresh chili pepper
Dash of lemon or lime juice
1 medium potato with skin on
Dinner: Tofu, chickpea and veg curry
Half an onion
150g tofu
2/3 cauliflower florets
Handful green beans
Coconut milk from the chill cabinet (not tinned)
Tablespoon of peanut powder
A teaspoon each of chili flakes, coriander, cumin, turmeric, garlic paste, ginger paste
2 tablespoons of chickpeas
Pre and post-workout healthy snacks: Oat and protein flapjacks: to make 4:
120g oats (4.2 oz)
4 scoops of protein powder
3/4 tablespoons coconut milk
2 teaspoons Cacao nibs
2 tablespoons dried fruit of choice

I woke up this morning tired of feeling tired. I'm 53 years old I've gained 40 lbs in the last 3 years . I searched RU-vid for inspiration and tips on a body transformation and I found you! Thank you for the tips, instructions and inspiration! Years ago I was a competitively power lifter and have always enjoyed weight lifting. These last few years have been very stressful. I worked in healthcare until just 8 weeks ago when I realized if I was going to regain my health my stress level needed to come down dramatically.

Hey Melissa, just found you and subscribed to you today. What a relief to hear that I am not losing my mind. I have been into fitness for most of my life doing one thing or another but, these last few years it has been very frustrating. I am 53 now and just couldn't fathom why I could not build the muscle anymore to the point I was losing the will. But I am not a quitter and have always kept going no matter what. It was interesting to hear you talk about running. I have been running for years and in the last 3 years have seen little to no impact on weight or increased fitness levels, the only good thing was it kept my mind well (I do enjoy a good run) but realised after hearing you talk about the no benefits to weight and muscle I realise now that running every day is not the way to do it. Also the food thing, exactly the same as you were, Intermittent fasting and out of balance protein, carbs and fats. I am plant-based and have been for 11 years so have a good knowledge of good proteins and carbs and have already upped my protein. Although eating prior to and after training is something I have never done so this will be the real challenge for me. I have just rejoined the gym and went back to old ways of working out because I did not know any other way. So, now watching and taking on board what worked for you regarding strength training, I am now ready to change and swap over to this kind of training. Thank you, you are an inspiration for women like me over 50 and show that it can be done. I will monitor and log my journey so will let you know how I get on in a few weeks. Take care.

I hear you, Lisa. It's so frustrating putting in the work but not seeing any results. I like so much of what Melissa's saying. Like you though, I also prefer plant-based, but personally, struggle with the protein as I've been told that my allergy tests come up saying dairy and eggs are a problem for me. Add to that not being a fan of meat or soy ... LOL. It's rather a trick to juggle. Personally, I do like some of the IF components. For instance, not constantly eating/snacking is almost a relief. Eating before and after working out, like you say, will be an adjustment. However, eating right before bed, hmm, ya, no, that's not going to be for me. Some people manage to be avid runners (and still lean and trim) for their entire lives. There must be a way to do it, but I like what Melissa is showing us and feel it's worth exploring. :)

Not long ago I started on the keto diet and just by giving up bread lost quite a lot of weight. Since then the going has been considerably slower but still noticeable, its just finding ways to keep myself motivated and not bored with the food I eat. I appreciate videos like these because not only do they give me the motivation to carry on you have some good ideas for meals. Thank you very much I appreciate your making this video for us.

I have RA and feel your pain. I started with doing pilates for beginners and lots of stretching. Swimming is great for my joints. Start gently and work up.

@@rosiebottom3870 ... great advice from all you ladies. I just turned 70 and I have never been so unfit. I look like a sack of potatoes. I agree that walking is a great way to start. I want to do more but my body is extremely inflamed and I get sharp, shooting pains up and down my body. I take ibuprofen for the pain as it paralyses me. I am encouraged by this channel and all the comments. I am a lot more motivated now and keen to see some results in a months time.

@@2352anne maybe it's time to look at your meds? I went from methotrexate to biologics 9 months ago. I can walk twice as long now which means I've been able to lose some weight. You shouldn't have to live like this. Ibruprofen doesnt touch my pain. I take Naproxen for pain relief and prednisolone for bad flare ups. I take hot baths with Epsom salts to get me going in the mornings. I rub Vicks menthol rub into my joints which is surprisingly effective.

You are legit! No fillers or Liposuction. You are what you eat. You can’t expect to eat all the fat food and expect to 120lbs. That only works for celebrities or people who can afford to throw away their money. With expensive transformations.

I prefer full fat. Yes, each fat gram has more calories but it is key how things are processed. So anything low fat, usually has sugar added - and sugar is the devil.

Thank you for being an inspiration. I am the same age as you & hit a brick wall back in 2009. I was working as a cna, overnights & not getting enough sleep. Raising 3 sons, working & going to nursing school... how I did it?? I have no idea. But the brick wall was I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia & chronic fatigue syndrome. 😩 My body felt like I had the flu ALL the time. I was out on meds that made me into a zombie. Over the yrs I took myself off a lot of the meds. I was taking over 17 pills a day. Craziness! Now I'm only taking 4. I gained over 20lbs. I use to do Cardio kickboxing & very active. I CAN do it again. It's just having the mindset. Thank you for being you! I WILL get my energy & body back. Much love! ❤💐

Hi Melissa, I'm new to your channel and have watched several videos. You look awesome. I am 66 w/hypothyroidism - very hard to lose weight. I did manage to lose 36lbs w/Keto, but after keeping it off for 18 months, now gained back. I have been doing Keto or low carb for so long, that when I see carbs immediately think I'll gain weight. I need to lose 45lbs. Thanks for all the great tips!

For the first 43 years of my life I NEVER had any issues with eating. Now that I'm 47 I struggle to keep my slim figure that I have always had. I'm truly at a lost when it comes to what I should and shouldn't be eating. I so needed to see this video. I think I'm just going to eat only things I see in this video.

The belly will never go after 45 .. if you are still in ur early 40s u still can tone it down. But no matter what you do the belly is there to stay. All you have to do thereon is to lift weight 5/6 days a week, eat no less than 1400 calories a day ( lean meat, ) is the key, sleep really well and HRT ... she is fit but she still has the pouch and that's how our body will be forever after 50 ... don't follow any diet because each to her own and blood type so a dietitian and a well experienced trainer with women over 40 will be your best friends in your aging journey..Good luck

@@naomideegan9527 I have a set of 3kg for upper body. And a set of 10kg for lower body sets. I started with the 3kg and built up strength before buying the heavier ones. Best decision. I love strength training. Has improved my mental health, I am getting slimmer and more toned. Its become a part of my life.

Okay this is really good. I'm a West African and we won't generally eat this type is meals your eat. It won't be sustainable for me as one the taste for me might be interesting and I'll end up more liking it in the long run. I am really enjoying watching your journey. As a woman over 40 who is working on getting into shape, this is helping me a lot. I do not want to compete, but I do want to be more fit so I have significantly reduced my cardio and have implemented more weight training :) Can you do a video on what you eat before your morning workout if you are lifting or doing cardio? Please keep the videos coming!
