This was a sweet little behind the scenes, I love how you've both managed to balance work life and being parents, I hope everyone reading this is safe and has a good day c:
This is my favorite video! I loved seeing the recipes in real-time. This type of recipe is perfect for Senior Citizens. We can still enjoy a dessert without making an entire cake, etc. Potatoe Soup is my all-time favorite! I will be trying your recipe!! Thank you so much.
I love that you continually and faithfully reply to comments. Much smaller creators don't even bother, and it creates such a disconnect. Thanks Gemma! 💕
As you said, rumors. The technic for microwave has developed , been improved over time and the production is always under regulation . Microwave oven manufacturers are required to certify their products and meet safety performance standards created and enforced by the FDA to protect the public health. Microwaves are a safe, effective, and highly convenient cooking method. There is no evidence that they cause harm - and some evidence that they are even better than other cooking methods at preserving nutrients and preventing the formation of harmful compounds. I you do a quick google search, you'll see information from trustful authorities in different countries, such as: www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/microwave-cooking-and-nutrition www.bbc.com/future/article/20200714-is-it-safe-to-microwave-food www.fda.gov/radiation-emitting-products/resources-you-radiation-emitting-products/microwave-oven-radiation But if you prefer too avoid it, you can bake my mug meals in the oven at 350°F /180°C (for conventional oven) or 325F/165C (for convection oven ) for roughly 10-12 minutes. However every mug is different so I advise checking on it after 10 and then make a call.
@@joligarcon5970 HOW do you explode a microwave? 😮I have never even heard about that happening. Also, how do you reheat meals? When I am cooking stuff like stews, goulashs, soups, I always make big batches so I don't have to cook every day. Then I just serve a portion on a plate a put it in a microwave and done. Sure, some meals can be reheated in the owen or in a pot, but for others it's quite hard. Like with stuffed bell peppers in tomato sauce. These take ages to be properly warm in the middle while heating them on a stove...
Wow. Morning routine is an amzing idea for videos. I would like to see more of these kind of videos. Thanks for the recipes. You look beautiful even in the morning without makeup. Take care
Thank you Gemma, Kevin and sweet baby Georgie for letting us into your lives. And I have to say this, time and again, your recipes are just hands down the best Gems. Love it so much. May God bless you and your family always ♥
You inspired me to cook with just a microwave when I didn't have such a stable life, and now that I have a healthier life, I've graduated to better cooking and baking and you've been there all the way! Thanks Gemma!
I tried a lot of these mug meals! They were spot on! I loved them! Now I have mug meals on occasion! I tried the Nutella cake in a mug, I tried the egg muffin in a mug! I tried noodles in a mug! I made the banana bread! They were all so yummy! I hope you make more mug recipes because I love them!
Huge fan Gemma! Thanks for this sweet little video...seriously adorable. Ur son is beautiful MashaAllah! Gemma, like another commenter requested - Microwave bread please! But can you make a healthier version of it without plain flour? Also, can your mug cakes be made healthier by substituting all-purpose flour with another type of flour? Like oats or wheat? Thanks.
What I like about Gemma’s vlogs are, I feel right at home watching them. Gemma talks to us like we are really there. Then Kevin and George pop in to visit!💁♀️🤣
You are absolutely genius! Just when I think you can't out do yourself: you surprised me once again. What a wonderful video! Blessings to your beautiful family.
Hi Sarah. I'm not an expert on your cuisine, but I hope my recipe for Quick & Easy Maamoul will do. Here's my recipe for it www.biggerbolderbaking.com/maamoul-cookies-recipe/ Enjoy!
Hey gemma u r amazing I just follow each and every recipe of yours.....today I made brownies from ur amazing cookbook ..my whole family finished it in just 15 minutes... I am a thirteen year old and I have followed you since I was a 7 year old🥰🥰🍪
Thank you for taking Waffles in the video!🥰🥰I had told myself that I would comment only after watching the whole video. But sorry! I couldn't wait😂 And I also wanted to ask you.. If you would give George his first dessert to eat, what would it be, or what was it?(of you already gave him) I so wish I had a microwave😂
Thanks for being here, Elaine. Waffles is part of our family, so gets his share of being in the videos too. I haven't really thought about what dessert to feed George yet. But we'll get there.
I don't know your circumstances about why you don't have a microwave, but if it's affordability, you can get a smaller/less wattage one at Walmart for less than $100. I learned to cook all mug meals in a 700 watt micro before being gifted with a 1,000 watt (and oh, boy, what a difference that 300 watts makes!!!) They come in many different wattages, with 700 watts being the lowest, and I believe 1,250 being the most for home micros.
Hiiiiiii Gemma How are you I am obsessed with your videos And my favourite thing about your videos are the mug meals You are the best baker ever Regards from India
I think doing this was great! It's always nice to see Gemma cooking, but seeing her with Kevin and George and how her day goes makes me feel like I know her better. She has always been tops in my opinion, and this is just the cherry of top of a mug meal! Loved it, God Bless!
Hi Gemma and Kevin, I think doing a video like this makes you just a tad vulnerable personally but also shows people that you’re down to earth more than the normal recipe videos. Nice job with this one!
Thank you for the kind words, Vivien. Many of my followers have been asking to see a day in our life, which is pretty ordinary actually. My kitchen is just like most kitchens in homes. We work from home, and we work just as hard like everyone else. Pretty normal, but I have no complaints.
Your the best ty for all you do for us. I have dropped other channels and just watch you. Your food it good healthy and fast . ♥️🤸💃✨💫🐾🐾 P.s. ever Try vanilla in mashed potatoes 😋
I’m just too young and coffee is suppose to stunt your growth and I’m already too short for my age cause I’m allergic to gluten and that stunts my growth already 🙁
I can’t wait to try these! I’m always looking for fast, easy, healthy microwaveable meal ideas! This will come in especially handy for when I return to the office! Would love to see more lunch and dinner ideas like this! 👍🏻👍🏻

After I buy the ingredients to make your mug meals and mug desserts I will let you know what I think of your mug meals and desserts and make them for my mom as well.I love and enjoy watching your videos,I am a long way from making your recipies
I really enjoyed this video style. The mug meals and snacks looked very appetizing gonna give them a try. George is such a happy baby, no tears, just cute smiles😁
Kevin, put coffee and water in the coffeemaker the night before and set the timer ten minutes before Gemma gets up. The coffee will be brewed before she starts the mug muffins. You win, hands down, I mean, hands full.
hi there, I'm proud of you guys for wearing your mask ( to protect your self from the virus) because we wear them in nh,ma also and get our booster shots too.
Your mug meals have been such an inspiration, Gemma. I don't have a kitchen in my weensy studio apartment, but I do have a 1,000 watt micro, and I've learned how to make nearly everything I used to make on a stove, or in the oven, including meatloaf (just now had some for dinner!). I was getting a bit bored with what I was making, and then found your site very early this year, and "that's all she wrote," as my father used to say about anything that was a major change in life. Now I can make all kinds of wonderful foods, and with some experimentation, am constantly coming up with recipes of my own, based off of yours 😊. Please do continue to make the home-style videos; I just love seeing you and Kevin and George (and Waffles) in your home environment, and I'd really like to see a little more of your house, but without invasion of privacy. I just love homey houses, and it looks like yours is so.
Baby George is getting so big! You tickled me when you were making your loaded potato soup in a mug, and said you were going to add chocolate, I got the best laugh out of that LOL.
Breakfast is really important in this house So is coffee Coffee isn't important *It's what I live on* Also my dogs a Lhasa and she looks so similar to waffles
Really enjoying your videos, but hey you don't need to wear a mask outside while exercising. In fact that can be quite dangerous for many reasons. Take your mask with and lift it up if you meet up with other people. The mandate is 6 feet OR a mask, not both. Love your videos and your food.
Hi Michele. No, it's safer to wear a mask than not wearing one at all. We can't be complacent. Also we don't do heavy running with George and Waffles in tow. Thank you for the concern. It's much appreciated.
Love this sooo much and love watching u guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙 and baby George is absolutely beautiful 😍😍😍... Gemma I was wondering could u please make keto mug makes please and gluten free if possible?? Or low carb and this would be excellent to try.. (maybe hard but could be a challenge for u? 😊😉) xxxxx
Thanks a million for your glowing review! You can make tweaks from my normal recipes : for most recipes which don't use yeast as a raising agent, you can substitute GF all purpose blend flour (which usually contains xanthan gum as a binding agent) for wheat flour. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind while alternating the recipe: note to hold back some liquid by using up to 3/4 in one go and adjust it accordingly to get the same consistency with mine. That clip of George sleeping on Gemma made my heart melt! Lovely recipes as always Gemma. Loved this different video, it was nice to see a little behind the scenes☺
OMG baby George is soooo cute and yr doggie...I wish my brother was still small. And by d way luvd yr video Gemma....yr family is lucky having a professional baker in d house...so I'm trying be a Baker too....I always take my grandmother's phone to see baking videos cause I don't have my own phone(just 12)LOL.
Loved watching your day, I know you did it years ago as George is now 3 (I think). Love watching your videos as you make cooking look fun and easy...THANKS
How cool! I'd thought you were in Ireland...but you're in the town of my birth! Excellent meal ideas! I may try that nutella brownie idea with Trader Joes Cookie Butter spread (Speculoos)! Nice family portrait!
I make a mug omelet. Super easy. One or two eggs well beaten. Chop up green onions, mushrooms, zucchini, cheese and crumbled microwaved bacon. The egg puffs up well in an uncovered mug but it puffs up even more with my Japanese mug with the vented lid. Microwave 2-3 minutes. ( I microwave bacon in a paper egg carton lined with a paper towel. Two slices cook up perfectly in two minutes and make no mess. The paper towel and egg carton are great fodder to start my wood or charcoal bbq grill as a fire starter. Put individual charcoals in the egg cups and on top and light)
You are welcome! If you want to try them out, you can just search these recipes Egg MugMuffin, Nutella Brownie in a Mug, Potato Soup, Fastest Banana Bread and Fettuccini Alfredo in www.biggerbolderbaking.com
I am an Highschool History teacher on the go, and your Microwave Meals gets me through the week!! Thank you for sharing your awesome recipes!!! Sending you happy thoughts form South Africa!!
U have been an inspiration to me since your channel started...seeing the insight of a single day was a whole new episode seeing all your hardwork. Wont forget to try the mug cakes for sure.
Gemma, I just adore watching you and Kevin together. And I don't know how it's possible, but baby George gets cuter every day. He seems to have such a sweet easygoing personality which is good for your filming. I haven't made any of your mug meals yet, but I may start with breakfast tomorrow. I have a lot of bananas and blueberries in the freezer.
Thanks for your lovely note, Lisa. We really appreciate your support. Definitely give the banana bread a go. The oats, banana and blueberries are really great together. I hope you enjoy!
Hello from Hong Kong! I live with and take care of my parents who are in their 80s and I cook (and not just reheat) meals for us in the microwave all the time, but I've stopped mentioning this to my friends because they always give me these looks, like they think it's strange, or even worse, they tell me it's dangerous to use the microwave that way. *sigh So I cannot tell you how reassuring it is to see a professional chef like you cooking things without apology in your microwave. Thanks so much for the recipes, I'll definitely be trying them, but thanks also for making me feel like microwave cooking isn't some horrible culinary and nutritional travesty =P
Thanks for your lovely note, Kelvin. My thoughts are good ingredients in, great results out. That’s why I call these real food fast. I hope you enjoy! :)
Hey Gemma! I really liked your mug baked potato soup! As I am a vegetarian, can I substitute the chicken stalk for vegetable stalk? And can I skip the bacon? Thanks!
Go for it, Sophia. Just search these recipes Egg MugMuffin, Nutella Brownie in a Mug, Potato Soup, Fastest Banana Bread and Fettuccini Alfredo in www.biggerbolderbaking.com
Hey Gemma and Kevin, George is getting so big, he's growing up way too quickly. He's getting more and more like Kevin, I enjoyed all the mug meals, I live on my own now since my boys left home, so I would love to see some more please Gemma. Thank you enjoyed the video ❤❤❤❤
would love a video dedicated to gluten free mug desserts! or maybe even a video where they're vegan? just thought it would be something different to film that would be good for people with dietary needs
I enjoyed your day of eating with mug meals and you beautiful family. It would be nice if you did a fall mug day with family. Have you done a Apple cider mug desert or snack 👩🏽🍳?
I actually prepared an extra cup each for Kevin and Zach after each demo. I can't let them go hungry! We had fun with this because we were doing what we do on a typical day, but this time with a camera following us. We had a difficult time cutting out which part of the video :) Thanks for being here.
It's such a beautiful thing that you reply to all the comments 😊 Even tho you get thousands of them, you still take out time for replying to every single person 😊 Keep bringing in amazing content! 😄
I try to respond to everyone, Tanusha. It’s a commitment made when we started Bigger Bolder Baking. But there are weeks when I can’t respond right away.
Hi Gemma, besides seeing, what you are baking, I love seeing baby George. He is so cute. He looks like, he very much wants to also have a bite of your food. Is he eating solids yet? Do you make your own food for him?
