@@troit1550 I have actually done this. I also once brought a whole toaster oven and an ice chest into the cafeteria and proceeded to cook stuff like enchiladas and baked chicken Alfredo
Zephyx Well college kids definitely know how to use lip kits, yeezys, and a bottle of Jack, but they don't always know how to use a bottle of seasoning
Alexandria Baker she probs scared that like an intruder comes in yk (yes I assumed the gender cuz if it’s a boy that’s illegal) Edit: I MEANT A GIRL AND A BOY BEING IN A SCHOOL OR COLLEGE DORM TOGETHER, NOT FOR A MAN TO CARRY A KNIFE.
Or disabled and still need to eat, because people need to eat. 25% of the population is disabled. Why are some abled people such dicks? No offense, of course. 👹
The person who made this was told, “Ok, so in a dorm you have 3 microwaves, a bed, and an industrial sized fridge and freezer plus 100$, now GIVE ME RECIPES!”
TheBlue Gamer if they eat my shit I will go in the fridge, make there food, and then walk in there room to show them I’m eating there food, but this is why every one hates me
I can just buy instant noodles or some pre-made convenience store food and that would be the cheapest best meal than buying all the ingredients required for just even one of these dorm meals!

Yes, people! The mac and cheese does work! Just add a little more water and make sure to check on it every 30-60 seconds while its boiling to make sure the water doesnt bubble over! Its actually very good and Im surprised it works lol
This is perfect for military too. After PT in the morning, we never have time to eat. Definitely going to get some groceries to make some 5 minute breakfasts in the morning.
Finally a nice comment :-) Thank you for that. After reading the negative drivel from others, it's refreshing that you and I see the value in this video. Some youngsters won't realize the worth what they just saw until they are older and "real life" sets in with children, spouse, full-time career, lack of sleep and just plain age-related health. :-)
I feel like it would’ve made more sense if this was titled “microwave friendly recipes” since most of the ingredients needed aren’t what you would normally store in your college dorm. Still loved the recipes though.
@@taylorbritt499 because it's dirty. You don't know where it has been before it was packed. It's always safe to wash it once or twice before you cook it, not for so long that there's no white water left anymore. We need the starch.
@@JohnSmith-ox3gy True... when I lived in a dorm i had ramen and bread and milk. Maybe eggs if I could get them. A lot of freshmen don’t have reliable ways to get groceries or such yet LOL
I think people are confusing the concept of dorm room recipes for everyday ingredients. Like you cant do much cooking in most dorm rooms so its just healthy foods you can make in the microwave, not necessarily shit you probably keep laying around in the fridge
James Rogers actually, the microwaves use, guess what “micro wave radiation” meaning if you’re dumb means “small wave” which is why they’re called microwaves ovens, the radioactive waves are too small to hurt you, but big enough to heat up the food.
You mean, they secretly cooked it for an hour? Yeah, I get it. They legit always speed up the film. If they sped it up for 11-15 minutes, it would be so damn flast you'd think a fly flew by.
I stacked my drawers in my room and I use that as a meal prep area, its pretty functional. But I can understand people who may have a roommate having issues prepping a whole ass spaghetti squash in their room LOL
honestly, the only "ingredients" I have in my fridge are 2 eggs, old bread, milk and leftover takeout so I don't know what college student this video is talking about 😂
Idk when I was 17-19 I would be that extra. I had a laundry basket filled with food but I would've never gotten a fricken spaghetti squash. That's just a lot.... 😂
Idk...when I lived in a college dorm, the last I had was a refrigerator full of eggs, veggies, meat and cheese. These are some great quick meals though that I may use for the office!
whats in your fridge is completely up to you and your budget, and if you dont have enough money for cheese and frozen veggies than you should've gotten a part time job
K W.S: My roommate and I each had a tiny refrigerator in our tiny room which held mostly beverages...really couldn’t keep it stocked with food. LOL! Relied on the cafeteria for full meals each day. Had nothing to do with budget!
Perfect!!! I've been waiting to use that spaghetti squash, my roommate almost thought I was crazy. Oh and my balsamic reduction, it had almost gone bad
My microwave is dead *silent.* I enjoy cooking food in the microwave at 3:00AM knowing when it's done it won't make the infernal beeping noise. Person commenting: Is there a way to learn this power?
That's a shame. I am not in college and some of these really work in a pinch at home. You just have to learn how to use the microwave. In other words, each microwave has its own quirks. You have to adjust the cooking time and setting. Do you want to eat microwave meals all the time? No but could you eat some of these all year long - yep. Suppliment these with a great salad and there you go. And let's remember many college students were quarantined last year. I am sure this was a great help to them.
I just tried the "veggie and cheese". It was so good! I'm not in a dorm but I'm living alone for the first time and new to cooking so was lookin for simple things. I did pre cook the spinach slightly on the stove, and added some seasonings to the egg-cheese-milk mix. These recipes look great, thank you!
Does anyone add green onion just to be fancy? Like “oh I made a mug brownie, it’s looks a bit plain but, I ran out of frosting and sprinkles. Ah, Green onion shall do the trick!” *sprinkles some green onion on a mug brownie*
Ricky Villalobos because they haven’t learnt their spelling yet so they are a long way away from college then after they learn it they can go in a few years. Don’t make fun of them because we were all like that once
@@braveheartmoonwolfaj1969 NOT ALL KIDS ARE dumb and I am 11 so stop assuming all kids are dumb I hate when people are like children are not to be heard or seen even though everyone was a kid UGH
ClairvoyantCloud um I was actually sticking up for the person, not all kids are dumb but clearly YOU’RE DUMB because if you had EYES then you’d know I said how they probably are a long way away from college so while they are getting there they will learn how to spell and They can’t be made fun of anymore, seriously I hate sensitive people like you, why don’t you read the comment you stupid idiot? And yes I called you stupid because it’s true, whatcha gonna do about it? You practically are!
These are good for people who travel to motels aswell, I'll be using a lot of these recipes soon because my motel room doesn't have a stove. Just a microwave and mini bar fridge😄
i tried the mac n cheese and it came out really good!! i just have a few tips 1. make sure to cook it for extra time!! i cooked it for like 3 minutes and 30 seconds. depending on what pasta you’re using it could be different, but make sure to try it so it’s how you like your pasta texture to be. it also overflows so u might want to put a paper towel in there or sumn. 2. add more cheese and milk!! there definitely wasn’t enough and once i added enough it became super creamy and cheesy 3. add more salt and pepper at the end for like actual flavor hope this helped!
@@alynsr really good! The one this is that if you have a newer microwave be careful, because if you aren't watching it once it gets to around the 2 minute mark it suddenly bubbles over in 3 seconds flat. I think the best way is to do 1 and a 1/2 minutes, take it out and cover it with a towel, cut your cheese into super tiny pieces (I hate taking out the cheese grater lol) and then put it back in for another minute and a half. Its more tedious, and sometimes you need to put it in for longer, but in the end it's really good, and the time in between cutting cheese is much better than cleaning the water from you microwave, trust me😂 But overall, it depends on your microwave, so the best way is to test it out and be careful, and once you know what you're doing, you're set! edit: and use the biggest mug you have! This gives you more time to run to the microwave if you see it start to bubble over. Added to that, make sure the water is just covering the noodles, or its a recipe for disaster...
I just tried it too and I did have to cook the noodles longer than 3 minutes and yes I had to watch for the bubbling over of the water! But I just opened it up about every 30-60 seconds to make sure it was doing okay. I also had to add a little more water but didnt have to strain thank goodness. Overall, its really good! Im surprised it worked to be honest lol
@@sage7516 agreed on that lol. I have a continuous problem of putting too much water, and then when I have to strain it I lose a few noodles which usually devastates my 1am brain 😂😂
There needs to be a blog style of all their recipe videos just because everything's so fast I can never stop in time to write down the recipe or follow along.
Sarcasm and rude comments aside, this video is great and thank you. Its been a huge help. I live by myself and making food especially those rice bowls is a blessing.
Ahh yes this takes me back to those good old days sitting on my dorm room floor just wondering what to do with my red capsicum, edamame and spaghetti squash.. ok no, but like seriously who tF is gonna clean that microwave? 😂😂
0:13 Guys the macaroni recipe tastes fabulous but for those who wanna try that, the water boils up from the cup and ur microwave is gonna be floated...so better boil the mac in wok/pan and add cheese & milk then keep it in the microwave for the cheese to melt...tastes so good
00:06 Mac and cheese 00:40 mug omelette 1:01 chicken quesadillas 1:40 baker potato 3:13 egg fried rice 4:02 nachos 4:32 bread bacon and cheese 5:00 veggie and cheese 5:46 banana chocolate 6:11 bagel sandwich 7:28 scrambled eggs 7:55 broccoli bacon loaded potato (don’t use sweet potato) 8:51 pita pizza 9:21 healthy instant noodles 10:34 healthy fried rice 11:25 breakfast sandwich Leaving this here bc I like these and will make em later lol
For the Mac and cheese add milk and a bit of butter (a lot) and heat it for about 2-3 min a time (do this around 4-5x) and then keep adding more milk if you need to. then add your cheese and more milk and finally heat it up. That’s how i do it and it’s really good :) hope this helps
*PLEASE CHECK THE PASTA YOU'RE USING FOR MAC AND CHEESE. I ACCIDENTALLY USED PASTA THAT TOOK 12 MINUTES TO COOK AND IT WAS HARD. I'M WARNING YOU, MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RIGHT PASTA. the problem here is that tasty seems to be under the assumption that most college kids just have all these ingredients lying around or that they have the kind of money to go get this stuff. “broke college kid” isn’t a joke! i’m a sophomore and i personally can’t afford to buy stuff like fresh mozzarella or quinoa, etc. some stuff, maybe, but i personally find myself having to eat what the school provides to save money. that’s just me tho!
no nope Well if you have your school’s meal plan, this video was not directed at you. This video is directed at students who have to cook for themselves. Every meal on here is cheaper per serving than anything you can buy premade.
@winterhawk. yeah but it's basically gonna fucking kill you since an instant noodles has alot of sodium which is almost equivalent to your daily sodium intake so unless you want to die then yeah he'll yeah let's buy some insta noodle
NTR3380 that’s really only if you put in the flavor packet depending on what kind of instant noodles you get??? if you get the ones where you stir in the flavor powder stuff afterwards, you can decide how much to put in (ultimately changing the sodium levels). you can also add in frozen veggies or an egg to get more out of your meal than just sodium while also keeping the price low (so long as you know where to find cheap vegetables, freezer veggies work fine).
you can just eat the noodles dry :) i first tried it because it said something about it in undertale (i know i shouldn't just randomly listen to video games, shh) and they tasted pretty alright
