This helped so much. The first trimester has been the hardest. Its like you're hungry yet sick. Crave things but can keep them down. The hardest part is definitely getting out of bed and having a normal routine. It's blissful being pregnant with your first little one. Our bodies go through a lot.
I ate mostly crackers and cheese in my first trimester, went to bed at 6:30, and felt crappy as the day wore on. But I was able to eat totally healthy (and lots of veg) afterwards, I worked out daily, and I had a super healthy daughter at the age of 42 (who now is 2 and loves veggies!). So don’t worry about it mama - and congrats!
GIRRRRL week 6-9 I thought I wasn’t going to survive I felt so sick and would throw up every morning at work. Im on to week 10 now and feel a little bit better and hope I have the “dream” second trimester. I love your pregnancy videos and I’m excited to go through the journey with you.
This is exactly how I feel. I can't even focus on the fact that forming a beautiful miracle in womb is the reason for the sickness, because the sickness is overpowering and just extremely awful. At times i don't want to be Alive. I even told my husband that I wished I could be in a medical induced coma until the baby arrives. All this bad depressing feeling and then I get on the phone with the doctor and love to hear them say, "When your baby is..." And it reminds me that YES I am having a baby of my own how exciting. Let's hang in there. Thank you for your comment. Sorry if mine sounded too negative. I was just happy someone knows how I'm feeling. Stay strong girly!
With my third bundle of joy after 9 years. My first two were rough but i this one is wooah, am nauseated all day everyday, everything i eat gives me heartburn then am having excessive throat mucus and i have to carry a bottle where i can spit into. I feel horrible being so sickly and lazy. I really hope second trimester is going to be better and i can eat again!
This is exactly how I’m feeling too! I thought I was just being a wuss because people go through this all the time but it’s the most sick and miserable I’ve been in my life omg 😵😭
Meat was disgusting pretty much my entire pregnancy! Even eggs were gross. I had to eat protein really mixed into other foods, never alone. And then after I gave birth, everything just instantly tasted normal again. It was amazing
I’m 7 weeks pregnant. I’m sick all day and night. Everything makes me nauseous and grosses me out. This is my first pregnancy and I just want it to get better!
I could not stand the taste of water when I was pregnant. I’d instantly feel like I was gonna throw up. It was horrible! I craved subway and jimmy johns all the time!
Subway was my first food aversion at 6 weeks lol I didn't like water, either but if I didn't drink I would have went 3 weeks without anything in my body lol
First of all congratulations!!! This is such a special time in your life. I love the moments of life changing milestones. I think we are all excited to follow you and Matt on your journey of parenthood! When you talk about your energy levels in this video-I 100% relate and I am not and have never been pregnant. I actually found this REALLY helpful just watching you honor your body and what you need. I know that might seem bizarre. I wasn’t expecting it either!
I had TERRIBLE morning sickness my first trimester too and I hate seeing you go through it! I’m relieved to hear that some women hate water while pregnant because I did/do and I thought I was crazy!!
'Morning' sickness (aka all day sickness) is the worst, & I love that you are being real about just needing to eat to survive, & not stressing about your nutrition at this time. I used to find regular breaks from the computer screen helped too - apparently something about how the picture is displayed messes with your brain & can make the nausea worse? Also, the vitamin B6/antihistamine tablet combo was a lifesaver for me while working full time with more than an hour of travel each way. I hope it subsides in 2nd Trimester for you! I also couldn't drink coffee... Funny!
Ginger Chews and the Gingermints from Trader Joes are a lifesaver! I would pop a Ginger Chew every time I felt nauseous and just suck on it and it would be a huge help...saved me from actually throwing up!
Becca, I just discovered your channel and I’m SO thankful that I have! I’m about 10 weeks now and I’m not throwing up like I was but I am still VERY sick just like you mentioned that you were in this video. I have searched and searched for a video like THIS! Thank you for creating this video and encouraging other women going through this same exact thing. You’ve got a new sub here!! ❤️
Oh man! I could NOT eat chocolate while pregnant! It tasted SO weird! First trimester I couldn't handle anything with tomatoes and I had to keep eating new foods because everything made me sick. I was one of the women who had issue with water but it happened later in the pregnancy. I still drank it though but it tasted SO metalic
I’m due with my second baby in December and it’s going to be so fun watching your videos while I’m going through the same things! I wasn’t sick at all with my first but this time around has been a different story 🤢 your tips are so helpful!
With my pregnancy I was working 8 hr shifts on a postpartum floor ; I’m a nurse. I didn’t have any nausea but in the grocery store there were certain things I’d see that made me woozy. Other than that , I’d come home from work & could basically fall asleep sitting on the couch. I worked until 36 weeks then went on maternity leave. After week 13 though , I had an energy surge. Hope your energy comes back Becca! Congratulations to you & Matt & Rosie.
I had the worst morning sickness when I was pregnant with my twins ... the worst part was having to go to work and sitting st a desk while at the same time keeping it from my co workers... sour things were the only things I could tolerate .. grapefruit was my go to
pork was one thing i couldn’t eat, cook, or see. eating frequent meals helped with my morning sickness also. I ended up having gestational diabetes last pregnancy which was awful when all i wanted was carbs and watermelon. Glad you are doing better this trimester and figured out what worked best for you.
WOO! So stinkin' excited to follow this journey with you! I'm 38 weeks today and SO READY TO BE DONE! ;) My first trimester was thankfully, not nearly as rough as yours, poor thing! I will say, the smell/taste of coffee was the one thing that instantly made me vomit! I know everyone is probably saying this, but it gets so much better - keep positive! Once week 18-19 comes around, you're a whole different human, so you're almost there!! You're looking fab!
I hated all meat. The smell or thought of it made me sick. Nothing too salty. I loved fruit, bagels, toast and tea. Also peanut butter. I hated anything acidic with tomatoes or lemons in it. Mexican food and Chinese good especially made me sick. The basics really helped me. My bagels, fruit, tea and peanut butter was all I could stomach for some reason....oh and occasionally cereal.
Shame Becca you having a rough time, 2nd trimester... you will be living your best life again. The many small meals a day is definitely the way to go. I did that throughout both my pregnancies. All the best! Matt you are the sweetest to take such amazing care of your wifey
Then Water has to be fridge cold for me to drink it and that’s not good. I’m developing a flu even. No one understands, I feel people think that you can’t be sick 24/7 but I am 😔
Everything looks so good. I have had to eat small meals consistently and snack throughout the day during this pregnancy, too. Hope you start feeling better soon! Hugs!🤗
I wish my husband was as sweet as yours!! My husband says “you asked for this” and expects me to make him breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Today is Wednesday and I have been feeling bad since Saturday. I’ve just felt nauseous and haven’t thrown up yet but I feel the same. I’m almost 7 weeks with our rainbow baby
Im 11 weeks and feel like ive had the exact same experience as you! Nausea starting to go away now and eating slowly coming back to normal but for the last 4 weeks I’ve eaten anything and everything that sounds good because I’ve been so hungry all the time and it’s the only think that calms the nausea... pizza and burgers especially sound so good to me 😂😂😂
Me too. I can't stand the smell of brewing coffee, just thinking about it, looking at it. And I'm a barista.... still having to work for a while longer. It's been fun.
how are you doing now MB Wilson? there is an herbal formula "no to morning sickness tea" to deal with pregnancy nausea for girls struggling with it. you can learn about the tea on maternitytea.com
No to morning sickness tea does certainly help limit the nausea though. I have had the issue with both of the pregnancies I've gone through and we have tried everything. This is the one that gave me some relief.
I’m 9 weeks along (and also a fellow RD!), and let me say that pregnancy dysgeusia is so real-coffee tastes salty to me now! My sickness also comes on with a vengeance at night. Blah. Hope your sickness continues to dissipate as your pregnancy progresses!
So happy for you congratulations! And soooo excited to see pregnancy videos like this they’re my fave! Would be cool if you could do a monthly pregnancy update or weekly on your symptoms mood weight lifestyle changes etc.
Not sure if you're doing this already or if it will even work, but I've heard from multiple people with bad morning sickness that taking prenatal vitamins at night as opposed to the morning can really help. Just a thought! Feel better and thanks for sharing this journey with us! We love you
I’m currently in my 2nd tri and the first one for me was awful aswell! I was nauseous all the time i would throw up occasionally and i had no energy! I also couldn’t drink or even smell coffee or even smell meat being cooked it would send me in a down spiral.. I took unísom and b6 the days it was really bad and I would wake up feeling like a new person! The 2nd tri will be so much better! Hang in there!
Your cravings reminded me of mine!! And I HATED coffee pretty much right when I got pregnant. That made me cry numerous times haha. Then I found out it was because it was hot . Iced coffee saved my life but it had to be really cold. The moment it got slightly warm it made me sick 🙃 there will be a moment in your second trimester where you get so much energy and the sickness will be gone. Hang in there! You’re doing sooo much better than I did
I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I can relate 100% to everything. I really liked your meal ideas, I will try some of them. My cravings are pasta (all the time), subways (steak and cheese), oranges, clementines and yogurt. Super weird for me because I haven't had dairy in over a year. Can't wait to gety energy back and be able to exercise normally again.
I hope you start feeeling better soon! I'm 39 weeks and your first trimester sounds exactly like mine was. I could hardly function at first but it got so much better the second and third trimester!
A method that had helped me through morning sickness is putting something cold on my forehead. Every time I feel nauseated, I place my cold water bottle on my forehead and it instantly relieves any urges to throw up and stops me feeling dizzy or light headed. How ever you do have to hold it in place for a while. This might not work for some women but it really works for me :)
9 weeks and no morning sickness so far but I still feeling better eating smaller meals lately. I definitely feel a bit nauseous in the morning if anything. That wrap looked so good! Definitely agree that spicy foods are iiiit right now
Morning sickness was so bad for me and I was almost hospitalized for dehydration because I couldn't even keep water down. I ended up on a medication to help as there was no other option. I still had a full time job I had to get up and get myself to work...ohhh man in my opinion that was the hardiest part of my pregnancy even harder to endure then actually giving birth BUT so worth it in the end!
Thank you for sharing your story. When I couldn't keep plain water down I was able to keep Perrier down. What a miracle. If not I would have died of thirst.
Congrats to you and Matt. I love your videos, you make us feel like a part of your family. I hope you're feeling better soon. Also, I wanted to ask if you will be doing a new video on what makeup you're currently using and how you apply. Looking for a cleaner healthier lifestyle for me and my daughter.
" No to morning sickness tea" works a ton, elevates nausea-like magic. I had very bad morning sickness, couldn't eat anything. drinking this tea twice a day helps me a lot
Those first 12 weeks I barely ate a thing. My poor husband couldn’t even eat a single thing that smelled. The only thing I wanted was a jimmy dean breakfast sandwich 😂😂😂 thankfully the rest of my pregnancy was fairly healthy.
*Oh, this brings back memories... I was sick for the first 18 weeks with my first and about 16 weeks with my 2nd. I lived on watermelon through both pregnancies. Also loved Frank's hot sauce on everything once I got over the morning sickness hump further along! I'd love to see more of these videos as you progress through the pregnancy! :D*
I relate with you more than any other morning sickness video I’ve seen. When I finally came out of hibernating in my bed, oatmeal was the only tolerable thing for me in the morning. Unfortunately my husband leaves the home at 5am, so making my food to eat was a struggle. I know if I had him here to make me breakfast my mornings would’ve been easier. Lol
My morning sickness has been the worst from 6 weeks still now and i am 11 weeks. I can maybe get 6-800 calories a day, 2-4 ounces of water. I have lost weight vomiting everything, bad abdominal pain. I have to do an at home iv drip every day just to stay hydrated. I am praying to get better real soon because working, 2 kids , a home and everything else definitely makes it very overwhelming
its almost 15 weeks now, how're you doing with morning sickness? if still exists, you can try "no to morning sickness tea" by maternitytea.com to stay fine. this formula really keeps throughout the day if taken with breakfast.
I couldn't fully see the letters on your shirt, but I'm pretty sure I see my Pi Phi letters! I'm a Pi Phi at The University of Southern Mississippi. Crazy to find new Pi Phi's all over. I love your channel. You've got this girl!
Can you address how you’ve changed how you use essential oils now that you’re pregnant? I feel like there is a lot of conflicting information out there about what’s food and not good!
I am with you! Approaching the end of my first tri also. It wipes you out!!! Hope you feel better soon. I am also finding it is extremely helpful to have second breakfast and other small meals throughout the day. If I don’t do this I become ravenous and eat crap lol. Best of luck to you!!
hi! I actually would not advice to drink wolfberry during pregnancy too much because in asian culture, it is said to help induce labor or create a stronger ''qi'' in your blood flow which can cause early miscarriage.
I'm going to carefully open my mouth on this one..Im not a doctor nor have I ever been pregnant but I remember a good friend of mine was told to say clear of Chamomile tea during her pregnancy because it can lead to miscarriage. Might be something to look into! Congrats again!
Rachel J This is from the American Pregnancy website : Most commercial brands of herbal teas are thought to be safe for anyone to consume in reasonable amounts. Herbal tea companies, such as Celestial Seasonings, report that they do not use any herbs that are considered dangerous and choose to use herbs from guidelines that the FDA has published. The herbal teas that are considered to be unsafe are those that are not made commercially, those made with excessive amounts of herbs (amounts larger than those found in common foods or drinks), and those made with herbs that are known to be toxic.
i’m about 9 weeks pregnant, & my goodness i was not prepared for this first trimester. for some reason i thought the trimester was going to be easy. i work two jobs & i am literally beyond exhausted. the fatigue & nausea are soo bad.
That’s so crazy! I’m 21 weeks pregnant and I had zero morning sickness! I felt more tired than usual, but that was it! So crazy to see someone with a completely different experience than I had! At one point I wished I had a little sickness to make sure I was still pregnant just cause I felt so good I wondered if I really was! 🤷🏼♀️
Lei Lei same here. I’m now 33 weeks and I think I had 2 days where I felt a little sick because I skipped breakfast but as soon as I ate something I felt fine.
Trust me, you don’t want morning sickness. I literally cry myself to sleep. It’s horrible. I’m constantly dry heaving. I feel generally sick, I don’t even get out of bed! I have assignments to do but for the life of me, cannot. I’m miserable and have no one to help me 😭😭😭😭
OMG~!! That's the salsa I picked up from walmart!! IT"S SO GOOD!!!! I love the mild, and it still seems hot to me hahaha. Yaaassss. Hope you get to feeling better
"It was full-on survivor mode." Amen, mama🙌😂 When you feel like sh*t, you do what you gotta do! I would keep a trash can in the passenger seat of my car so that I could puke on my way to work every day -- every.single.day. -- during the first trimester, but it did get better, & eventually faded entirely in the second trimester. Hang in there & congratulations!
I can relate to the morning sickness. I used to eat saltines and plain seltzer first thing. I could not look at raw meat. That was a very long time ago. 😊
Something that really helped me was sipping some ginger tea, and all I could eat that was amazing was salads the first trimester all o wanted were salads ha ha then olives lol
Becca!!!! Ginger tea!!!!! I actually used a couple drops of ginger essential oils in a glass of hot water and it would take the nausea away!!! I got it approved by my obgyn and it’s totally safe. Hope you start feeling better soon 💕💕
I had a horrible and half horrible of my second trimester. Since week six I started vomiting everything from fruits, water, and basically any kind of food. Got so bad I would get dehydrated and have to go to the hospital for the headaches from dehydration. Bread with peanut butter was all I could eat 😩 And cereal.
Omg I’m the same way with anything that’s spicy. I’m 6 weeks today and I crave hot sauce and potato chips during lunch time. I also put hot sauce on my eggs along with a bit of ketchup lol! Ive been doing research on cheese and kind of hesitant to eat any but I definitely need to grab this brand I’ve been craving cheese for awhile now!
In my first trimester I could only eat watermelon haha. And I had to have a powernap everyday after work. I was si tired it felt like I had been awake in 24 hours or something :P I think I got better around week 16.
Hello Becca. Thanks for your vlogs. They are very informative. Can you please make a video on preggy friendly hair styling products and tools. I used to do a lot hair straigtening using hot tools but now that I am in first trimister and M not sure whether or hot hair tools can be used in this stage. Can you please provide your insights... Thanksss😍😍
I was sick all day, every day throughout my pregnancy. The only thing that would help was to graze all day long. I felt like a “food dealer” - what you need, I got it! Almonds? Saltines? Dried apricots? Fruit juice? I got what you need! 😂
Oh okay, it just came off that way, like being pregnant with a 2nd child is worse but like I said maybe Becca only wants one child. I'm excited to know what name ideas she has!
When I had morning sickness with my second kid I strapped my daughter in a high with breakfast and parked her in front of the tv while I went back to sleep for a little bit (she was 2 not a baby) I felt guilty about that but I felt so horrible.
This is mad, but I feel exactly how you do. But I actually feel crap all day 😂 some days are definitely worse than others. Absolutely love love this video very relatable and informative. Thank you 😊
