annie please dont feel like having a bowl of cereal is bad, or think of it as a “cheat meal”. That can lead to a very negative relationship with food. Based on everything I’ve seen I can tell you eat very healthy and you’re very mindful of what you’re eating, so one or two or even three bowls of cereal aren’t going to make you lose all your progress. It’s okay to indulge, life is too short not to. and im very proud of you for actually eating something. sure, it might just be a “bowl of cereal” but its better than not eating anything. i know life gets tough and im sure that you know that. it takes time to find happiness from within and even when you do achieve it, there’s still ups and downs. everything happens for a reason and this is a new challenge for you adapting to your new lifestyle now that school has started. i know you can get through this and im very proud of you for making it through this week. i love you!! keep pushing baby

Yes, I feel the same way as well. It’s good to eathealthy but sometimes it isn’t very good, your body needs more calories and carbs because you’re still developing at her age.

It seems like your thought processes are so much about calories and if something is healthy or not. This is very toxic and not healthy at all, and it seems prominent of symptoms of eds. I’m not trying to diagnose you or anything but you’re only 14 and you do not need to count your calories and be so concentrated on healthy food. You’re promoting this lifestyle as healthy to audiences young like yourself but this is not healthy at all. Please go see a doctor, this is not healthy physically or mentally!

I know, and i hate it. I shouldnt have watched it because her other videos are starting to be around diety calorie counting super duper healthy lifestyle which is really triggering. I know its my fault but its just not a thing to post at all.

Annie you shouldn't feel guilty for not eating "healthy" 24/7. I used to obsessed with healthy eating but that lead me to a bad relationship with food. I always saw youtubers eat super healthy and always be aware of what they were eating. It made me start to feel guilty that I wasn't doing that and made me obssesed with counting calories. I know you are trying to do what is best for your body but sometimes what is best for your body is giving it what is craves. Just because you look a certain way doesn't mean you will automatically be happy. Sometimes your mental health has to come first. I wanted to comment this just in case you or anybody else needs it.

While it’s really good that she’s eating lots of healthy foods, I think she is showing signs of orthorexia(an unhealthy obsession for eating healthy foods all the time). I’m 13, and sometimes it can be hard to eat unhealthy after a long streak of healthy eating. I hope you don’t feel too bad when you eat something that may seem unhealthy. Balance is key. Don’t feel bad when you eat that extra treat every now and then! Sometimes it’s what your mind and body needs to feel satisfied!

especially since she doesn't eat with her family.... like its her childhood, she shouldnt be worrying about what she is putting in herself. a couple of months ago, i was just like her, but luckily my parents made me understand that it is ok to have meals with a bit more calories. She is only 14, one year older than me. I hope she understands that having fun, and being happy is much more important than skipping a meal.

yeah a couple months ago i was extremely obsessed with eating healthy. it wasn't fun and i don't think it was healthy, i was only eating a meal once a day... i still kind of obsess over food but i don't want her to be like that :(

I am currently going through an eating disorder, and I must say the starting of my ED started by doing all the things you’re doing rn. I obsessed over cals, exercised way too rigorously, and now I’m facing the consequences. I’m anaemic, I’m underweight with a BMI of 17.3, and I feel dizzy nearly everyday. This is just a reminder that your body is beautiful, and if you have a craving, TREAT YA SELF. ily Annie 🥺❤️

No offence Annie, but the way you talk about food sounds so bad and unhealthy, like cereal being a "cheat meal", Annie it's legit milk it's a liquid that contains calcium that makes your bones strong and most cereals are made up of fibre just like oats. Annie, you're only 13, there's no need for you to talk about food like this at this age, remember you're a kid. Of course being healthy is a good thing, but seriously you're scaring me.

I’m in ED recovery and I just wanna remind everyone that your body is beautiful and you deserve to eat whatever your body is craving! I know it can be hard to have good body image and not compare yourself but life is too short to worry about what your eating! 💕

The cereal part for me personally wasn't triggering. However, the rest of the video was :( I think you should be eating foods that you enjoy the taste of not just for their nutritional value. As someone who is recovering from an eating disorder please take care of yourself, I wouldn't wish this on anyone

Yeah, I used to be like this and got very underweight and fragile. Being skinny isn’t everything in life and trying to be skinny or look a certain way won’t make you happier or happy, trust me I learned it the hard way. Please love yourselves everyone is beautiful!! I know this sounds cliche but it is true, everyone has a different body type and that’s what makes them unique.

annie! when you mentioned that your entire family eats meals together except for you it seriously concerned me. i understand wanting to cook your own meals and wanting to eat what you like, but the time that you spend with your family even the small moments like eating meals together are quintessential to your development and relationship with your family. you will have so many opportunities in the future to cook for yourself and be independent, but at the age you are now I truly think it’s a better idea to just enjoy your life with your family the way it is.

Jackie Gastelo i can relate! in the past i had a very unhealthy relationship with food, and annie is doing all of the things that i used to like counting calories, not eating with her family, and apologizing for every meal. I’m honestly really worried for her.

Yes! It’s so clear that she does this to be in control of her calories. And when she called cereal a cheat meal it triggered me. Annie wakes up at 5 am but only eats breakfast at 10, before she does a workout and other things. I feel like she’s pushing herself into being this perfect social media person who does all these productive things and at the same time eats healthy, has no bad habits etc. But it’s okay to wake up at 8, it’s okay to skip a workout or eat a tub of ice cream. She was definitely influenced by all these influencers on social media platforms and since she’s so young she doesn’t realize what she’s going through, and it’s heartbreaking. Her videos became very triggering to me since spring/summer for that reason(( YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT, YOU ARE ENOUGH ABD YOU ARE PERFECT JUST THE WAY YOU ARE! Please always remember that!❤️

阿丽娜 OMG, you have this spot on!!! She has said in one of her videos she does intermittent fasting.... once again super unhealthy. Her videos have become especially triggering to be as well. I know it may not be her intention but it’s upsetting for me to see and I’m glad others notice it too. I really hope she stops worrying about having to reach this “perfect healthy influencer” standard and becomes comfortable with being herself. Even besides social media having an influence on her health it’s probably a teen things as well. so think I need to stop watching her thoguh because she is really triggering to me.

Annie, you have changed so much, It’s giving me ed worries. You have been counting your calories, being VERY strict on your diet ... you even didn’t eat for the first few hours of the day wich is very unhealthy and toxic. No offence or anything but why do you think cereal is so bad? Like yeah having it every day could be a bit too much sugar but it’s pretty low in calories if you’re concerned about your weight. In moderation it should be enjoyed :)

I know you're trying to help, but this is actually negative. Like her, you're worrying about calories and how much sugar is in a cup, serving sizes etc. There's not such thing as good and bad foods,,, she can eat what she wants without feeling guilty.

It’s okay! Everyone eats different! I do both! Sometimes you can have a fruit or vegetable for a snack! On another day you can a chocolate bar or a cup of ice cream! You choose! Don’t feel ashamed or guilty on what you’re eating!🌸🌸🙌🏻🙌🏻

annie i love you, but you are concerning me. all your videos you are focusing way too much on the calories and wether or not a food is "healthy" or not. calling cereal a cheat meal? feeling guilty? not good. i don't want to diagnose you but all your past videos have been showing very much signs of an ed. you may not realize it now, but later you will. this whole was triggering to me, and i'm in recovery. i love you, but please stay safe. :(

This is exactly how I feel. I'm trying to help myself right now, and during this video I was so triggered and recognized so many things that I did. She probably eats without family to track calories and create "healthier" meals. She labels food as good/bad, and she's obsessed with calories. I really hope she gets better.

I don’t want to put u down or anything....but something that I have been wanting to address to you is that fact that your calorie counting rrly bothers me LIKE at that age, it’s very unhealthy. (I didnt mean to be rude when I said that!) I was recently listening to a podcast from Kelly LeVeque she mentioned that calorie counting was invented to make ppl feel lighter, happier, and healthy because there is no other way that they can feel satisfied with themselves so they came up with calorie counting! I just make sure that I have protein, fiber, good fats and a little bit grains on my plate nearly everyday. That’s all. I have ditched diets, calorie counting and the whole food drama all thanks to Kelly LeVeque. She has really helped me with my relationship with food. Go check her out! (Btw I love your sketches. It’s Verny No don’t do that! Calorie counting at your age is not good. You’re still growing and developing, you need different types of food to help your body to grow. Please don’t restrict your diet, your body is beautiful the way it is and you don’t need to lose weight because you’re already stunning

GUYS. please please please do not take this video as inspiration to always only eat healthy. There is no such thing as a cheat meal. Listen to your body’s cravings, because I promise you it knows best. There is more to life than stressing about eating heathy. At that point, it becomes unhealthy. I’m not saying that Annie is unhealthy or orthorexic, but I want everyone who reads this to know that they can eat whatever they want because food is not only fuel but also delicious and something that is meant to be enjoyed 💕

You cook by yourself so you can keep track of the calories. As someone who's dealt with disordered eating, I tried doing the same because I was in control. You don't need to do this to yourself.

remember that you eat to nourish and fuel your body, and only eating healthy things and restricting yourself from less healthy food is not nourishing yourself! not everything you eat has to have a nutritional purpose, eat bc you like the taste of something :)

annie i know exactly what you're talking about and yeah, it's so hard to stay positive (i think the foods we eat/ what we think we shouldn't eat play such a key role). everyday u get up, and food is the only thing u can think about. intense cravings, and guiltiness after you eat something, then think about restricting the next meal. I just hope that everything is okay for you over there :( i'm not qualified to give advice because i think my relationship with food is somewhat messed up :( i just hope it can get easier

when annie starts talking about food, something she was saying spoke to me. i genuinely think that i haven’t been half as happy as i was when it was summer. but honestly annie, i also think you shouldn’t let yourself turn into the “school girl” who doesn’t have a life outside of school. not saying you don’t have one but you should still get loose and don’t let school get you all stressed. and most of all, don’t let it get to your head! 💞💞

I’m not trying to be rude or hurt her feelings but maybe go to the doctor about this, you eat basically the same thing every single day which is a huge sign of anorexia because you know how many calories there are, and also she doesn’t eat dinner with her family. Isn’t that concerning? She can’t count her calories if she eats dinner with her family, I’m going to assume and she exercise way to much. Half her videos are of doing a Chloe ting workout. I really like your content but I’m worried that you are going down the wrong path. Idk if maybe you don’t like your body but cereal is literally a perfectly fine meal for breakfast,dinner, lunch, or even just a snack. Enjoy food and enjoy your life.

trigger warning for any lovelies who are reading my comment ❤️ this is EXACTLY how i developed an ed. the bowl of cereal wasn’t triggering, but you acting like it was morally wrong was. before the peak of my eating disorder, i would look at foods to see if they were “healthy” and if they weren’t i wouldn’t eat them. months later after this “habit” i started losing my hair, losing my period, fainting in public, my nails and hair stopped growing, my immune system was weak, i was constantly cold, and i was living in hell. let me make something very clear; food is GOOD FOR YOU. a bowl of cereal, hell 10 bowls of cereal is not going to ruin your life. what makes you think it is normal to eat oatmeal and salad all day? as long as you are healthy, a “cheat” meal is a meal. as “okay” as you think this mindset is, if you start labeling foods as good or bad, you’re going to end up with some very serious issues that are not easily resolved. i love you and i hope you know that it is OKAY to eat cereal. it’s okay to eat sweets or candy or cake or chips. it’s okay to indulge in good food. you’re not a bad eater for being human.

girl go ahead and satisfy your cravings! it’ll only be worse if you suppress them, it’ll lead to binging or overeating. as someone who has been through recovery, i truly am concerned about you and have been for a couple weeks now. you are beautiful and your body is perfect. even if we all had the same diet and same amount of exercise, we’d still all have different bodies! love you!!

i dont wanna bring down the mood or anything but I’ve struggled with eating disorders before and these kinds of videos from youtubers I love and trust helps make me see the normalcy in eating/eating frequently. it really helps a lot and makes me focus on the health and benefits food can give you rather than the negatives it’s always been associated to in my head. 💞💞

Annie I am absolutely amazed at how you are so freaking good at cooking. But I think you are taking it a bit too far. You see, I am 13 years old, and during quarantine, I had a goal set in mind. I wanted to lose weight. I was never overweight, but I was so insecure because other girls at school were like 70 pounds while i was 125. I started working out like 5 hours a day, and I would weigh myself 10 times a day. I would be constantly disappointed because my numbers weren't going down at all. I started eating less and less, and having less and less energy. I would watch thousands of what I eat in a day videos. Luckily, my family stopped me from going down a path that led to an eating disorder. I am recovering now, and I still tend to worry about what I eat. But I now realize that i am only a child. i should be spending those 5 hours hanging out with friends instead of working out. I did manage to lose 9 pounds, but to be honest, I think I'll take a break from losing anymore. You may think that I am a immature girl, who is a whole year younger than you, but please...don't count your calories. Yes, being healthy is extremely important, but you shouldn't have to feel guilty about eating cereal. Girl, I had a whole cake roll as a snack today. I did feel guilty about that but it's ok :3. Go and eat a dinner with your family. I know you may feel like you fans' words do not matter, and that was how I felt when my parents kept telling me how concerned they were. Your eating habits aren't as bad as mine were, but it can led you to eating like a slice of bread for breakfast, like I did. You are 14 years old, and going on a calorie deficit isn't necessary. You aren't obese, you don't have diabetes. I think the reason why your struggling to find happiness is because you are constantly worrying about how much you are eating. I am no expert, but i want you to be happy. Please take care of yourself, you're beautiful :)

I’m so happy I’ve found an experience similar to mine!! I felt the same and losing weight was terrible. I was cold constantly and I lost my period. At the beginning, I started working out and I convinced myself to feel happy, but it got to the point where I over excercised and I felt exhausted; so when school came around and I couldn’t exercise I began to starve to feel somewhat ‘control’. My lowest was 102 pounds, and for a 5’1 14 year old girl, that isn’t healthy. I hope me and you can recover and one day I’m not scared of calories like this. Annie is amazing, but she’s reminding me so much of myself at that stage and it’s so scary.

Mara Hey!! So idk if you meant me or the other person, but the way I stopped was distracting myself with other things. So I would draw instead or ask some friends if they were available to call. It’s very slow, so please don’t stress if it’s hard for you, you can do this eventually :)) I started viewing my body as something not to impress others with and instead thought about everything it has done for me. Allowing me to breathe and still going through with me if I restrict. It deserves much more love and nutrition than what calories say. It’s so hard to stop exercising and I felt so guilty, but learning to take a break and being thankful for your body to function is key

I've been getting so many negative thoughts like 'I have to sleep late to exercise before I sleep', and 'I have to walk to school all the time' and I just really want to stop. You've inspired me. I'm starting school tomorrow and I just want to enjoy my time there and not worry so much and that's what i'm going to try to do.

annie, im not gonna lie, im worried about you!! there’s no such thing as a cheat meal, only food. food is fuel, culture, enjoyment, and nourishment. eating healthy means eating what makes you feel good and what makes you happy. your body is still developing whether you think it is or not because you’re only 14.

i just want to remind you it's okay to indulge once in a while, and you shouldn't label foods as "bad" or "good" food is just fuel. i was very obsessed with eating healthy and i wasn't happy at all,, even now i still have a hard time eating and obsessing over food. i just want to remind you this before you fall too far down this kind of mindset, because trust me it is not healthy at all

hey! i'm currently a teacher. advisory and things like that aren't pointless - it's for social emotional support so that we (your teachers) can make sure that students are feeling safe, seen, and supported during remote learning! also the "busy work" might not seem challenging, but there are students that are having a really tough time rn so we're trying our best to be accommodating for people and their circumstances!!

Thank you!! I used to feel that way too but the class could be used for studying, announcements and for emotional support. With busy work it’s not useless either, it will enhance your learning for other more advanced work. Thank you for mentioning this! Most people tend to overlook it because we don’t do anything but don’t underestimate the so called “useless classes”. It may sound rude in a way but some people need to let some time pass and opinions change (some people who seem very mature about things lack the experience and open mindedness, people still need to grow and mature.)

Annie, I know it might be hard to not rely on how many calories you eat each meal, but it’s better to think about how your eating healthy or nourishing your body. It’s dangerous if you keep thinking this way because it could possibly lead to EDs. Believe me, I have thoughts like yours but I try to think about how I’m helping my body by eating healthy or eating so I have energy for the day. It’d also be good if you wrote in a journal about how you feel about food and eating, it helps you vent when you can’t really explain it to a friend for family member. Just know that your not the only one who has these thoughts, and you can learn was to cope with it and even help others with this mindset 😊💜

BEFORE YOU READ: this is 100% NOT HATE. Just something I wanted to comment on. sorry, these comments really annoyed me. YOU AREN'T A DOCTOR SO PLEASE DON'T TRY TO TELL SOMEONE THEY HAVE AN EATING DISORDER WHEN THEY'RE JUST TRYING TO HAVE A BALANCED DIET! I'm 13, and I'm trying to eat the same way. My whole family is. And that's completely fine! We don't count calories, and Annie never mentions that in this video. Please stop making her think about this stuff and making her feel insecure about wanting to eat healthy. I understand that you are probably a fan of Annie, like I am, and that you're just trying to look out for her, and im sorry I reacted in this way , but I feel like everyone should respect her own desicions. Heya!! I understand all your viewpoints,, and I’m pretty sure we all love Annie here, that’s why we are so concerned. We aren’t trying to diagnose her by any means, but a lot of us have been through this sort of phase that has lead us to our ED. We know she’s eating healthy, but what’s not healthy is feeling guilty after eating (e.g she explained she felt bad for eating her cereal ). She’s also mentioned of being on a calorie deficit so yes, she has been taking fewer calories, (1,400 something short of calories I believe because she said in her Instagram). This is extremely toxic and I understand she might be wanting to lose weight, but she’s only 14. You might say that calorie deficits and healthy eating might make her feel in control and happy, but I’m seeing her constantly post about working out and eating healthy and slowly that mindset of a ‘calorie deficit’ becomes toxic. Sorry for my small rant,, but I just thought you might wanna know what goes through a lot of our heads when we see someone slowly taking the mindset of restriction in food. We all love Annie, that’s why we want to help her before something goes bad.
