Today I am sharing with you how we handle Christmas as a large family and what we got our kids for Christmas. We give each of our 11 children gifts in these categories.... 2 something you want gifts, something to wear and something to read. This has made Christmas gift giving much simpler for our large family Christmas is a special time for our family, and we enjoy slowing down and taking in what Christmas is all about!

I just love how this shows that you *really really know* your kids *really really well* and that is so rare and nice to see / watch! Thank you for this. This video shows how much of a great mom you truly are. You remind me so much of my grandma in that sense, she had 10 kids in Belgian's war era and a decade beyond. This video is so precious! :) I think when they're older and can watch this, they will *so much* appreciate the time and effort that went into each and every gift that they received. So much love in this video. 🥰🥰

I am sure your children loved their Christmas gifts. I loved watching this. I am the oldest of 6 and my Mom & Dad always did a great job of providing us with gifts on a budget. I have 3 children and I tried to not go overboard with their gifts either. I think they appreciated what they received. You are blessed to have a large family.

Really thoughtful gifts . I love the idea of want need wear read. My mom only had 2 kids to buy for so we were overindulged with gifts growing up , even now I'm 51 and spoiled. But she always bought our Christmas clothes and pjs . That was and is my favorite part of my gifts.

The number of gifts in no way correlates or shows how much a child is loved. Millions of littles ones across the world live in squalor and are as deeply loved, if not more so, by their parents as a child who gets a pile of gifts.

Taylor is going to love her gifts. Addison too. I love all the T-shirts’, but Payton’s were my favorite. As a teenager, I would have loved any of those gifts you got the teen girls. You know your kids so well. I’m impressed.

11 kids??!! You are a saint. I love children. I had difficult pregnancies unfortunately I have no hips and just wasn't built physically to have natural births. I had 3 csections and blessed with 3 kids. But I lost babies too. God bless you and yours!! Loved this new subscriber

I have 8 kids only 3 at home still, but I do things similar, divided into piles then wrap away. 😄 I look for lots of good sales, coupons and deals through the year. When you love your kids you know things they would love to get.

Im new here, I really loved the gifts and your thought process and how your encouraging skills as well as supporting their creativeness. I've always been very crafty and have done most of what's out here to do, but can only imagine what I could've done or where i could be had my interest and creativeness had been encouraged. I also love to read and always have and love to see when books and activity books are encouraged because there are to much being left to the internet world with our younger generations and that's scary to me. I love that you have a large family. I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters. We are a very close family and we are all in our 50s, 60s, and 70s now and still just as close☺️ Your gift choices were very balanced and I’m sure your kids will be thrilled with them. Some books your oldest daughter might like are Victoria Holt books. (Historical fiction) and one Excellant book is called A "Lantern In Her Hand." (The audio book of this one is on RU-vid) Just a few suggestions.

I feel you I have a 32 year old son and a 19 year old daughter. obviously my son is at that age he provides for himself. But I still have to make it fair. I always make sure they roughly have same amount. I continue to do stockings probably will never stop.

Oh I love the Amish books you got your daughter! If they like those there is set by Janice Dembosky ( who was my teacher in school).I don't know the series name but the first book is called The Bond Woman and then there are one or two other books that go along with it.They are really good books!

We only had 6 children (in 9 years) and I wish we had come up with a system like yours. What great ideas. Our sweet children are all grown and I miss having little ones around. but we have 14 grandchildren and I am going to pass your system along to them. I have to say though, you are very generous. I love the “something you want, something you need, something to read, and something to wear” system and thought it would limit the gifts from you to 4 gifts to each child. That sounded like it would help with the budget, and also let the children all know that you would be giving them 4 gifts. it sounded like they would be so excited to get four gifts! But you go a little crazy in each category. I thought the 4 gift limit would help control their expectations and they would be excited to be getting 4 gifts. I guess I did not understand. I still like what you are doing with this. And, I am going to try to introduce some of this into our lives. I just want to help the moms who can not buy so many gifts for their children. If you are a child, please stop reading now. One year my husband had been layed off from his job along with many others. I have always been a stay at home Mom, and loved it. This particular Christmas was difficult. We decided that we could afford only one gift for each young child. We were very grateful for the dollar store and for the gifts the grandparents sent. One child got a ball and one daughter had asked Santa for a truck (she had four brothers). She got a plastic truck from the dollar store. The hard part was that we had to decide if the gifts came from us or from Santa.

I started this to limit the gifts! Lol! It does help from what we use to do. Most things that I got each child were not that expensive at all. (Besides their big gift of course) it works for us! We’ve had many years of not being able to do much at Christmas as well. That’s when I would buy used through thrift stores or eBay.

Lovely gifts!! I hope the zip up binder wasn't too pricey on Amazon, Ollie's has them for under $10 my son collects Pokemon cards so I have bought several usually at Dirt Cheap for $5 or less lol I am a bargain shopper for sure Dollar Tree and Dirt Cheap/Treasure Hunt are my go to stores ;) God bless and Merry CHRISTmas Fields Family!!

Thanks! I did look at Ollie’s and Walmart first. I didn’t see one there.
