I wish you the best of luck! I know big shifts can be intimidating and the algorithm can be stifling.

Thank you for everything you’ve done. I’m a big fan of your Lupin content and hope one day you will return to it but no matter what, I hope the new channel goes well and I will be following you there. I look forward to seeing what you do :)

In my opinion, why not just rebrand this channel? Just change the name, branding etc and put all the old content on legacy playlists or with [OLD] tags. In the end, do what you think fits you best and i wish you all the joy and happiness creating content in the new channel.

I'm glad you're going to focus on things you want to do now, even if you don't want to make lupin vids anymore ill still follow your new channel, i could honestly litsen to you talking about the history of paper clips and still enjoy it

Thanks for the shout out dude! I am honestly glad I came across your channel all those years ago, and that we could form a friendship that is still going strong. I for one am really excited for Grey Jinjo content. The best thing you can do on RU-vid is make videos for yourself. It was fun listening to your channel's history from before I was an avid viewer (I watched your Banjo videos from my recommended and then subbed after realizing we are both Tooie Truthers).

I found this channel because of all the Lupin stuff and now it's been a couple years, I'm excited to see what happens on the new channel.

I'm cool with you doing whatever you feel is the best! 😊👍 The new channel has been great so far and starting over from scratch is not easy at first. I can say that trying so hard to be successful is not fun. Posting content for fun should be a priority and it should allow us to express a part of ourselves that's genuine, honest, and fulfilling in a way that makes us unique and stand out from the rest. You have always made content for this channel that I liked. 💙 Anytime you post new videos, I check them out whenever I have the time. There's never a dull moment when you start speaking and are willing to give any subject and topic a fair shake. I also appreciate a person on RU-vid whose willing to be open about their feelings and not act like a jerk sometimes, we got that on here and it makes watching their content seem questionable at times. Overall, wherever life takes you at this point, I'll be glad to join along the ride! 🚙💨 And who knows, there might be some new opportunities for you to grow and share what you think is worth your time expressing to people in more ways than one. 👍🏻 I know that this is where you'll be signing off of CloudConnection but I will be signing on to The Grey Jinjo now that the new channel is live and is just getting started! ✊😄 See you then!

I really appreciated your insight into the creator's side of RU-vid. This will be a stretch comparison, but the closest I can come to that is my very brief time in working on SEO. Completely revamping the project you're working on just to try and appease The Algorithm is soul sucking. I've had a blast with your video game videos on CloudConnection and I'm still having a great time with Grey Jinjo. Keep at it, amigo. Thank you

Thanks mate! I deal with SEO in my normal life too so I know your pain. And it is an apt metaphor for RU-vid!

I won't lie. I discovered your channel after my wife and I fell deep deep deep down the long Lupin III Rabbit Hole. So primarily, I watched you for your amazing retrospectives and reviews on what has become our favorite anime franchise. I understand and respect that you need to do whatever it is that you must do for your own sanity and enjoyment of your projects. I can only hope and pray that Lupin won't be abandoned forever. For a franchise that doesn't NEARLY get as much attention and coverage, your videos were the best around. If the master thief ever darkens your doorway again, looking for you to share his story once more, you know that I'll be there to see it. Best of luck in all your coming projects, my friend! Ja ne!

Being one of those that came for the Lupin III channel and seeing it discontinue now kind of makes me sad, since we didn't have much output for Lupin in the first place. Yet aside from that, if you'd like to, I think the Lupin community would love to help you if you were to think about restarting the retrospective ideas again, of course, all by your choice. Thank you for all the videos you've made, though!

really don't see the logic of abandoning a will running channel, even if not in for the money. just less people will be reached with your well made content. but you do you, best of luck anyway!

I won't pretend I know anything about the algorithm or even second channels, but I can say that abandoning Vegas Studio and moving to DaVinci Resolve has made my life significantly better. There was a learning curve, but I think at this point I'm, at the very least, editing as fast as I was before.

I found your channel in 2022, I feel like RU-vid pushed a lot of Donkey Kong related stuff at me after Dunkey's Donkey Kong December. The first Cloud Connection I watched was your Donkey Kong 64 Retrospective. I can relate on a lot surprisingly but I want to talk about Google or RU-vid, rather. Before I got my current job I always thought that I'd do RU-vid and make it into a career. I read books, talked to insiders, took Derral Evan's course and eventually I was editing for a Twitch streamer's RU-vid channel. One day I just realized I hated it. The videos were all formulaic and joyless. I went back to school and I work in a completely different field than what I went to college for and what I was doing previously. I am ok with doing one or two videos a year on my own channel, my job makes enough money for me. I also (mostly) quit social media. I went from "Gosh I wish I could understand the algorithm, then I could be a success!" to "I hate what these numbers mean, I'm doing my own thing." Good for you, I already subbed to your other channel and I look forward to your future videos.

You can explain it all day, I still don't get why you'd abandon a channel where you amassed over 20k subs which is nothing to scoff at. Plus you can rebrand the channel without starting a new one and keep your current subs. Those who don't like the new content can just unsub if they want. I dunno I haven't watched the video in full yet, just my initial thoughts
@TheRetroDen
@TheRetroDen 3 месяца назад
Well, as a creator myself I agree and disagree at the same time, it's not a point of having X amount of subscribers or not since he's not in it for the money, when it comes to channel metrics or identity you have to approach it in a certain way right from the start or else you're going to divide your audience in a way not even youtube will be able to understand what your channel is about, and therefore, who to recommend it too. It also stems down to feeling pressured to attend to both audiences in the content space. No matter how you try to put it, unless you are used to doing it for yourself you will always get overconsumed by metrics and always want to create the thing you KNOW is going to get views, because yes, any half decent youtuber who knows a bit about what they're doing can trendsurf and get easy views in exchange for soulless content that they don't care about. I might not be explaining my self that well but, as I've guessed from cloud's comment on one of my most recent videos, you should try and check out @BBKDRAGOON 's video on Authenticity and why you need it, I think it puts into prespective what he wants to say with this video here.
