What I Learned Producing K-Pop

Hey guys! AZODi here, K-Pop Producer and Songwriter! Brief history of K-Pop and what I learned over the years pitching and writing music for the awesome genre.
I have never been this open about failing in music before either, which is really nerve wracking to upload in a video.
It took 35 + hours to research, write, create and grab content, edit, level, render, create the thumbnail and write this copy!
I hope that you keep up with the videos I post on the channel, subscribe, and share your learnings with those that need to hear it. I really appreciate your comments, so please take a second and say ‘Hey’ ;).
It was great fun to work on and enjoy the value!

I would recommend starting by doing your best to reproduce kpop beats. Reproducing songs is a great way to get your brain aligned with a certain genre and allow you to setup a creative framework for you to make original songs. Get a DAW, and maybe a midi keyboard. Splice has studio one, and a bunch of different synthesizers for rent to own if you dont want to spend a bunch of money up front.

The thing is, original and passionate composers often face a time when they feel like quitting, nothing they create sounds good to them, but they just need to recover from it and after that phase of musical decline, they come out with progress. Every artist has their hard times, but what comes after that is often grandiose. And I agree with you, if you're in music, and you're serious, (serious meaning as earning profit from it) you should have patience, because it takes a lot of time. 💝 I'm not a fan of KPOP though, but taking in positive vibes from this video it is quite motivating, Thank you very much!

I appreciate your honesty! It was soooo nervous about uploading this as I haven't talked about my failures so openly before, especially not on a RU-vid video! @AakashRMusic

@@AZODi Yeah I have had similar moments that is why I can relate. But as an artist, I believe these are the phases that build us, we can't be very productive and creative all the time. :)

Hey Marisol! Great comment! I've been asked about Kpop structure before and tbh with you, it's not that different from American at all! Same formula most of the time. intro, verse, pre, A chorus, B Chorus, v2 etc its more about what happens within those sections that give Kpop the sound. Cool video man. I really appreciate the honest look at what your journey has been so far. As a creator struggling to find their own success, it can be really discouraging when you see nothing but the *successes* from other creators. For this reason, I think it's super important for us to share our FULL journey - failures and all - with our fellow creators. There's room at the top for everyone, and we should all be doing what we can to help each other along - which you are doing :) Kpop production tutorials sound cool too!

Man, I stumbled onto your channel after seeing your "More" reaction. I must say, I've always been really interested in getting involved in production, but I've always said that "oh, I don't really know any instruments other than my voice, and that's still touch and go," and I end up just practicing the same four songs on the piano, while buying hardware and software I'll probably never make use of if I don't take the passion more seriously. If there was any advice you could give for someone who's really interested in music production, but always struggles when they open up the DAW, what would it be? If you do read this, I'm sorry because I've never been "that guy" who just goes into someone's comment section to ask questions directly to the creator. Your story just inspired me so much, I had to reach out!

Thanks Gavin! All good! tbh i would say try and enjoy the process and have as much fun as possible at the start. Fun is the most important thing as that will get you through the harder periods of the production journey! I started because i had ideas i wanted to get out of my head, it really was that straight forward in my own experience. i would recommend joining the kpop producer community on discord too!! i hope that is helpful for you and good luck!!
