I've just discovered your reactions and i'm loving the way you are breaking the songs down and the way you explain things. I hope you managed to get more traction in the kpop industry that you were talking about in one of your producer interviews. I would love to see your reactions to some of their more recent songs, especially "hall of fame" 😁
Glad you talked about the Vision of the track. The more clear your vision is, the more likely it will be a title track. I get caught trying to make tracks without any vision and no wonder nothing good comes out that particular day!
Hi i want to enroll your kpop production course but i have some doubts Will i get the DAW with the course or Do I have to buy it separately? If I do so ,then Which Daw should I buy? I don't know anything about the musical theory about the chords chords progression so do you recommend this course for me? Now in k-pop every group has its own colour like girl Crush so what will I exactly learn and what genre I will exactly get to know?
hey dr. just a heads up its probably better to message me via email with these sort of in depth questions. 1. no i do not provide Cubase for free. you can get a free trial with most DAWs these days. whichever DAW you vibe with the most is the best one for you. 2. The course, as stated in depth on the product page, is for people with little to no experience, ranging from 0 - 2 years. 3. you need fundamentals down of music production and songwriting as a whole before considering the different genres within K-Pop. If i dropped you in right into writing girl crush, the language and terminologies will be too advanced for a total beginner, they wouldn't make sense for someone who doesnt have the basics down first. I cover girl crush in the cubase tutorials on this channel too if you want to watch it.
I'm 52 and am actually pretty new to Porter Robinson although ive always loved language (since buying Forza Horizon god knows how many years ago), not really into 'dance music' but something about Porters songs have just sparked something in me (maybe its my age haha), can honestly say though that something comforting is probably the most beautiful song ive ever heard, between worlds and nurture, there are absolutely loads of brilliant songs, the amazing thing about them is if youre wearing a decent set of headphones or earbuds, you actually hear something different everytime you play them, the guy is an absolute expert My kids probably think im having a midlife crisis listening to him by the way, but hey ho, you only live once!!
tbh even thou I first listened to kpop in 2002, in general I dont listen to many artists and just follow/listen to a few on a regular basis. Right now what my preferred group is G-IDLE@@AZODi , stylistically I couldnt pinpoint a genre inside kpop cause the palette of music I like is maybe too wide, perhaps retro would be the best to describe what I usually appeals to me
I have a question, what if it has been months and you haven’t heard any updates from the topliner and you tried reaching out but no response?, do you send that beat to another topliner?
yeah i would do that tbh. i would inform them ure gonna take the song back and send elsewhere, then u have a paper trail of you saying that. worst case scenario you send it somewhere else, get it finished and then the original topliner gets back to you with a topline, you can write a new song around their topline. its a win really cause then you have more songs for your catalogue!
You probably already know this, but i've always found it interesting, but the female voice you hear is actually Porter, with his voice ran thru an effect processor, and when he describes it, he says its like he's singing a duet, between his heart, (his lower chest voice) and his mind (the higher head voice) . dude puts some next level thought in to his music and im 122% here for it.
@@AZODi yeah totally! It's a great plugin, I just haven't had a chance to make good use of it yet. Also, do you still do online classes/lessons with people?
im so glad we were able to hear your song! it was made for woojin. and i love this kpop punk sound, its amazing. i also do indeed hear the akb48 influence. immediately thought of heavy rotation, he even starts the song similarly with the countdown. the song is legit perfect. thank you for doing this breakdown and for giving us insight into how the song came to be!
glad to hear it belleux, happy you find it interesting! k-pop punk ftw right! haha the mv is great, looking forward to seeing him perform it on live / TV shows!
I showed this to my friends, they are just casual K-pop music lovers, they love the track! I totally forgot about Shreddage, thanks for the reminder. I did not know it would be so useful for K-pop :D I'm glad that you showed your midi and what your notes look like. For some reason, some RU-vidrs think that is not relevant, it's strange. So I have a question! How many tracks do you have in this project? Did you end up using much of your RAM or was it mostly VST, CPU? I think if I remember, you didn't really do any mixing with the vocals? Thanks and great walkthrough, it was really clear! (Gonna grab that Punkbass too hahaha)
thanks danny much appreciated! yeah its based on an ibanez which is pretty metal lol just down to the guitar tones and writing style you implement really. i dont know off the top of my head but it looks like its less tracks than usual. vocal projects i have a new project usually to save RAM, but the PC now can handle everything up until the master.
thanks lina much appreciated!! glad it was helpful and you enjoyed the song. no plans to but we give feedback on songs in the discord, worth joining if you havent alrdy
The second one was for any additional subtle boosts after the multi-band compression. it happens every now and then, wasnt super important so cut it from the tutorial! Wanted to keep this tutorial punchy as poss
Big congrats once again on the release Az! Learnt quite a bit from this tutorial which i definitely didn't know i needed to learn and will be stealing some of your techniques in my productions as well 😂!
