Nice, I've been looking forward to this. I did not watch every snap, but I did watch at least 5 highlight compilations so am primed. One thing I hardly saw at all in his time on the Raiders was full speed motion at the snap. In particular something like a WR coming across on a Jet Sweep fake one way with Jacobs getting the handoff the other way. 6 man boxes with defenders off balance because of a fake could make this easy mode for Jacobs. One other thing I noticed with the Raiders is their WRs do not excel at run blocking. Most didn't really try, and even more rarely were they successful. With the blocking our WRs do, he is gonna be in heaven.
@@acinoralas9107 And the really wild thing is Davante is one of their better blocking WRs. They must not spend much time on that in practice or something.
I think jacobs and loyd have a huge year. Coach Matt wants to run the ball this is the best o-line and blacking scheme Jacobs has ever had. I wish we could have kept jones too but im excited for this season.
It is possible that Jacobs peaked and last year's performance is more on brand of what we will get. However, I would definitely take the gamble of his arrow pointing up rather than sideways or down based off of the situation change. RB performance is the most effected position in the NFL by their offensive situation. There will be on average 1 less man up in the box per play in GB than what he saw last year on the Raiders. There are a number of other possible factors but I don't want to create a wall of text.
I don’t think he peaked at all. I think he’s gonna have the best seasons in packers modern day running back history. He’s gonna get atleast 4 receiving tds to get his career total to 4. That raiders team was a complete joke. Van roten was their best lineman….
Josh jacobs with a legitimate QB in jordan will be GREAT to watch, Just like many other players who LEAVE the raiders Josh will revitalize his career with the Packers. Go Pack Goooo
It would sure be awesome if Josh Jacobs came in healthy, stayed healthy, and ended up being a really good, diverse all-purpose back. Strong/quick/decisive enough to run well between tackles. Decisive enough and quick enough to do well with some outside runs, too. Strong/powerful/decisive for converting short-yardage 1st downs and TD’s. A really good pass receiver. A really good pass blocker. A good running back for 4th quarter drives when Matt Lafluer is trying to run clock. Hopefully being on a new and a winning team with a healthy and happy culture will be super energizing for him, that can often happen to players. Hopefully the OLine will extend some of the improved run-blocking they showed late last season. I think if our run blocking is automatically upgraded even if it’s Sean Rhyan this year. Pass blocking was always gonna take a hit losing Runyan, but I think the offense is really becoming the Matt Lafluer offense for the 1st time, and I’m really excited to see it. Josh Jacobs is going to have a big year for us. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
Thanks Andy for this great video. Are you planning on doing a video like this on LVN? That would be cool to see his progression from the first game till the last one.
Other than the last five games of the season, our running game was not good. If our offense opens running lanes like those last five games, Jacobs and Lloyd and even Dillon will go off.
Part of it is carries! Matt will get away from the running game a little to much, during certain games. Which will affect Jacobs overall stats over the season. Yards per carry, and receptions will be important stats, over the season for all Packer RB's.
Josh was pissed since day one last year, he didn't get his big extension after leading the NFL in rushing. He missed some camp and was not a happy camper. Then the offense was dysfunctional at best. He's a dynamic RB with exceptional skills. He will have a new lease on life and his career. He's already gleaming with confidence and optimism. With Love and our WRs and TEs it will definitely open up the box. If he gets the majority of carries he will easily get 1200 yards and 40 receptions. I'm thinking he'll end up with 1500 to 1800 total yards and 10 TDs. That's just what the doctor ordered. Now if they start to feature Lloyd more as the season goes, this could effect his final numbers. If that does occur, this will be the best duo in the NFL. I kinda hope that happens so they will both be fresh for the playoffs. He will help this offense regardless of his usage as a whole. He'll fit right in immediately.
You're forgetting that the O-Line has to be consistent throughout the season. The Packers might have two new starting O-Line players at the beginning of the season. I've been an advocate of the run game for the Packers because of the contributions of Aaron Jones the past few seasons and the games the team have put games on Aaron Jones's back. For a running back to contribute to any team like Jones has done is asking a lot; I hope Jacobs does the same.
Cutback lanes are improvising, your on your own and playing roulette with your health. Its like throwing across your chest as a QB, BUT YOU SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES.
as a guy who watched like half of raiders season cause their games worked well with my schedule and of cource because of Davante Adams i agree with Andy,Jacobs wasn't terrible, but wasn't great either, he looked like 20-30% upgraded AJ Dillon i.e not really explosive guy who needs volume of carries to be good. And with this style i highly doubt that he'll return to 2022 form in GB knowing that MLF will never give him those needed carries, like he pretty much never gave it to Jones or Dillon
I think with Aaron Jones the worry has always been his injury history. Let's save him for the play-offs. Besides one or two games early, Dillion has not earned a lot of carries. Then you have MLF not staying with the hot hand and feeding a guy once he gets going or in a grove. MLF seems to like a RB by series for some reason. I think Jacobs will be fine, but he will not be a 20 carry a game guy in GB.
@@MrHeeebz i'm not saying he'll be bad either, i just don't see him be anything more than above average-good RB without the volume. For example, since 2019 Jacobs played 73 games, and had less than 20 carries in 38 of those, but only in 13 of 38 he got to 4 YPC (which is kinda the starting point of good RB). For Jones it's the opposite as he had just 12 games of 20+ carries in that time span and MLF was the HC all that time
What's concerning is that even though he is younger than Jones he already has 100+ more carries for his career and averages almost a full yard per carry less than Jones for their careers.
A winning environment can really help a guys outlook. Jacob's will be no different. I actually think he will get more carries compared to how many Jones got in Green Bay. I'm pretty sure he won't see that many 7 or 8 man boxes. I don't view him as a bell cow for this offense. I really want him to be effective and efficient on 3rd downs.
My only argument to the raiders run game being just bad last year is zaire whites play those last 3 weeks. Tbh I thought he looked better then jacobs.. that said I'm still hopeful jacobs gets back to form.
As a diehard Packers fan, I still don’t like this move. I can’t shake the gut feeling he’s washed and see so many SB winning teams de-prioritizing RB- makes me think we would’ve been better off just doing something like rookie + bargain bin vet RB
Aaron had some biggest questionable play in the playoffs. The 2021 big play at the end of the first half. The last play of the game against the niners, he slip and ran after bosa instead of getting down the field wide open.
lol.. I can't taste training camp and I'm good with that.. I'm curious what a Packers training camp would taste like.. some variety of cheese and beer?.. GPG 🧀
Packers will miss Aaron Jones . He is much better than Josh Jacobs at making big yards when there is no hole there . Jacobs will be ok this year, but Jones is the best at making a lot out of nothing .
