Gary, I cut a corner off a blue tarp, about 2' by 2', and use it to put my diggings on. It keeps everything from getting mixed up with the surrounding dirt and you can spread the dirt around or put it into piles for further detecting. Also folds up and fits neatly into your back pocket. It saves a lot of time.
You prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Francisco Kaiden I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Excellent Video Gary you had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I was waiting for this one as I knew from talking to you last you had found something good.. Made me smile to think that just when you were finding all that gold it was right around the same time I was finding my nice haul that day.. Your right, you better go with Bennett if hes tryin to take you! Great gold and video Gary!
Hey Gary - I don't think your videos are too long. I always find myself sorry when they're over, because every minute of them is informative and entertaining. Thank you for being you, and for sharing so generously with us all! Oh yeah - and the way you spotted those "out of place" rocks? Dang! You're the master!!
I'm 59 yrs old..this is my first week watching gold prospecting videos. I know nothing about this subject. I'm a city guy, don't care much about hiking, camping.. Yet, I find your videos very instructional, professional, concise, and fun...im fascinated by how you read the landscape around you.,! thx for sharing your adventures. I might do this as a new hobby.. you're a fantastic teacher.. gonna binge watch all your channel..Subscribed👍
I always laugh when people say "ahh, just small gold.". Gold is gold and it adds up...lol. Most of us are out for time in nature and, if lucky, we find some shiny. It adds up and will give us some $$ eventually. Thanks for taking us along and explaining things along the way. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
At the ripe old age of 72, I'm in my 5th year of metal detecting. Honestly, most my hunting has been around old home-sites and parks. Recently I picked up a Whites TDI-Pro with a 7inch Miner John coil. I live in Corning, Ca ... not to far from your neck of the woods. Your videos have been a major inspiration to me. Hoping I can get some experience here, in Northern California, and learn a new skill with my PI machine. It's just a plain fun hobby, yes? Side note: Who says retirement is boring? =)
Reminds me of digging a hole of civil war minnie balls back in Virginia. Every time I got one out still another signal still there. Got nine from that one hole. Great spot Gary . As always thanks for taking us along.
Thank you Gary! I learn something new every time you post a video. That's why the length of the video doesn't even bother me. I've never seen an explaination of how to find big gold at a hydrolic pit as what you did in this video. You've helped me find more and bigger gold both with knowledge and with tool selection. I have a Marion tool and the others you sell and love them! Thank you for presenting your wisdom and sharing on site what you are doing, using and thinking. I just had to write you. I'm really fired up for prospecting now because, now, thanks to you, I have a way of doing things that really work well. The other day at the river I found twice as much in 1 hr as I have before, working it all day! That makes it fun! Don't worry about length. If you're presenting good info, who cares how long it is! Keep them coming Gary! Monday Mining Day!! Love it!
I'm 26 and I don't think I could keep up with you on your hikes. Keepin' busy keeps ya young, proofs in the puddin'. I also appreciate the longer videos!
Brilliant Video - loved every second: hilarious one minute, tremendously exiting the next. That hole that kept on giving was awesome. And so full of generous knowledge sharing too. GReat.
Nice man, knows what he's doing, good communicator..and a chilled guy. Thanks for the smiles Gary - I'm European.. there's no Calif gold where we are :-)
Thanks for more great info Gary You have had a great year !! The gold you got with Bennett were some heavy slugs! Thanks for the great experience at your hydro pit. I Look forward to this spring .. It’s back to Hawaii for me but at least I got all your future videos to watch this winter!!
@@TwoToes Like migrating snowbirds, the Kanakas will be flying North to return to gold country in April. Summers prospecting in gold country and winters surfing in Hawaii is the plan for my retirement. It will be nice to have JC back here to keep me company. See you next spring.
Hey I live in the area at property in the area around the Truax Road area and I think there's some areas are that you should look at let me know if you're interested
Gary, very informative video. Great finds! I appreciate you explaining what type of area you are in, what you are looking for and why, along with your thought process. You also take the time to move the camera to share it all with us. Thanks again... Aaron
That was probably the most exciting few minutes I’ve seen in any video of yours or others. I hope to take your knowledge and find gold like you Gary. If I only found a tenth of what you find I’d be happy. Look forward to the next one 👍
I sure enjoyed this one Gary! I sure hope that you're going back here, and am looking forward to some more of those out of place rocks!! Man that was exciting!! Thank you !!!
Great video to toes and talk about a little nugget patch that was awesome you don’t run across that very often well stay safe and keep the videos rolling we love to watch you thanks a lot and have a good one out for now
What a productive day! I loved every minute of it. Not one moment of boredom! Beautiful gold! Your total weight was s out 11 grams. 11 X $48 = $528 (roughly). Way to go!
Hello from Fort Bragg again. As far as my wife and myself are concerned, you can't make a video that is to long. We can take all you can put out. Thank you for sharing all the good times!!!
This video is one of my favorites! Perfect example of real knowledge. Awesome for the fact that you truly prove that always checking your hole before moving on is so important. I think you could even find gold in a Waimart parking lot. Im amazed at your keen sense of location. Im hoping I can do a some prospecting with you sometime. You have my ph #, lets go!! I also want you to come up to my claim when the snow melts next year.
The time just flew by Gary , i was with you all the way when you were hunting those nuggets out lol, , you had me in suspenders , ha ha ,great vid ,thanks for taking us along , cheers .
Hey Gary bet you have liquid gold for blood you are a true gold hound. Great instruction video. And nice little pocket you found!! Well done sir 👍🇺🇸⚒🍀😊
Ahoy YAH, thanks for Gary's lessons based on personal experience so i'm learning while here in New Jersey while i'm nearing my Day One when i will be free for leaving here for having good fun while finding Au in USA's safe areas of wilderness in California.
I leave about 80 iron, lead, BB's and shotgun shells and aluminum foil where I parked..... That way the next guy that shows up get back in his vehicle hangs a U-turn and finds a new spot to dig.... Ha ha ..... Thanks for the video ...... Keep filming the videos that are very enjoyable and you have a top personality ..... Thanks again !!!!!!
Great video! Glad I found ya. Super informative. I really appreciate how you explain how to find gold in depth. Old guys always have the most knowledge! I’m hooked! Thank you for sharing
great video and some mighty fine nuggets, Yep i would strip around that area of the large rocks and have another detect and where those nuggets came from i would bag some gravel to pan out cheers Glenno.
your videos could never be too long. I love to absorb your knowledge and would be a honor to gold mine with u. im in Wisconsin home of the gold u cant see with a naked eye and cant catch with the newest technology. wife and I are taking a trip this June 11th to south dakota black hills for a week and then from there to Nevada for a week and back home. so we can actually find some gold. I have filled my cart with your tools on your website and will be ordering them asap.
Damn! That does it, I'm getting a metal detector. It's all about the gravel...even in hydraulic pits. It's been a a year with a lot of great finding of buried treasure. Poker is a game with a large element of chance, but its skill that gets the same group of guys to the world series of poker year after year. Apparently the same is true for prospecting. Thanks for sharing the techniques and thanks for another great video.
Gary another top notch video, thank you. Can you do a video on researching areas to detect, ie finding old hydraulic pit locations online, things like that.....
That's awesome Prospecting with a detector is the best hobby in the world , I have a whites GMT and it's excellent, extremely sensitive, awesome video and good luck 👍
Great finds. I got a overload signal on my GPZ-7000 and even thought, "some idiot left their soda can here and it got burried". I started to go on and not dig it up. I decided to go ahead and remove it. About 1 inch down was a 1/4 ounce gold nugget!
Fantastic outing and great tutorial! There's no substitute for the 'eye of experience'. As always, thank you for sharing your brilliant skills, Gary!!! PS -- the video didn't seem long at all, I was riveted the whole way through1
I just wanted to give you an advise about checking material in your hands. I don't know if you knew but you can wave your fists on the back of the coil. I found it kind of odd you always stretch to swipe your hands on the bottom.
Always entertaining as usual. And remember captain Jeff, I like stupid long also because you are very entertaining, and we can always do the editing here for our own liking's. If RU-vid was charging by the minute, I guess it would be different! LOL
