I do hope you continue to share with us the different things you do in your journal as I’m so intrigued by them… Just had to tell you that adding the gum and luscious powder was the perfect way to compliment the stand! I was hoping you would choose the “penny” and just love the look. I’d love to see it after you applied it to all the areas. You do realize that several of us who don’t have opportunities to attend workshops just live vicariously through yours😂. I, for one, truly could listen to you carry on about it for hours. Again, thank you so much for sharing everything with us ❤. You are so generous and kind to do so. I promise I won’t bother you again 😂 Blessings to all, Nancy Rolfe

@@Chrissieannie as always, you are so gracious! Your videos are so inspiring, humorous and informative…I believe many people would enjoy them too if we could get “the RU-vids” to post them in their feed…. I know how grateful I was when I first saw yours. It was exactly the style I preferred and you taught so clearly how to recreate the techniques. This is why I will go back and rewatch videos. I have more cards I’d like to make than time….lol If my husband would decide he enjoyed shopping and cooking it would help 😂😂. He might as well take over the cleaning and laundry too😂😂😂. Hi Chris, I was wondering whether you could slot that large tag you were given, into the top opening pocket you showed us. My latest journal has loads of things jutting out everywhere using bits and bobs left over from card making... but I also have a few journals which I kept to certain colours/shades. Examples: One I worked on with my grandchildren is rainbow themed, basically anything went into it. 😁 Another was monochrome black/white with dashes of metallic and also there is my favourite one which is an antique style one, with frills and feathers. The best thing is they can be as full as you like or pleasantly understated! You have some wonderful items from your trip, I know you will make great use of them on you mixed media cards and in your journal. Thanks for sharing with us, Marie.😄🌼🌻

Oh, how lovely. I like how the stand turned out and I think it's improved with the Luscious gilding. Looks like you had busy weekend crafting. I've only ever done travel journals. I did do a virtual retreat on junk journals but I don't think they're really my thing. During it, I did make a mini journal for my daughter to hold her Mixology recipes in from a Mixer company. The recipes always arrived with four recipes on a sheet of paper printed on both sides. I couldn't figure out how to properly make it into a book and gathered all sorts of supplies but never found what would work. Luckily, I got a fake leather empty mini travel journal as part of a bundle and it was perfect. I made signatures for each season (that's how the mixers arrive-seasonally) and cut the pages in half. It was the perfect solution. She loves it and can easily add new recipes as they arrive. I do keep a travel journal when I travel abroad, in addition to taking a ton of pictures. I only write on one side of the page so if I have any little paper mementos, I can add them. For example, the first time I had Fentimen's Rose Lemonade I fell in love. I had never heard of it so I peeled off the label and added it to the journal. How else would you save stuff like that? Or the Gingerbread wrapper from Grasmere, you know. Special memories that really have no place to go. Anyway, your journal and shelf are fab. Sorry, I just went on and on. Glad you're back. Made my Monday morning.

I’m so grateful you didn’t have stressful traffic coming home! I used to enjoy driving but in the area I live (West Texas) it’s just horrible now. I have to drive 45-60 miles to shopping and I simply dread it…new oilfield companies opened around us seeing tremendous increases in 18 wheeler trucks who drive horribly. My husband said some are coming in to the area with fake licenses!? The lady said that same thing to me when I renewed my license. She said they are coming from Florida… I definitely “feel “ your pain of driving in bad traffic 😂😂. (just sharing a little bit about myself….hopefully doesn’t bore you completely) I just love the stand and book. I have seen videos of people making these junk journals but still unsure exactly what you do with them. I love the fact that you are learning about them. I’m so impressed that you are willing to attend the workshop when it’s about an area you aren’t familiar with and it’s the focus of majority of people attending!! The older I become the less it bothers me and I’ve always been one to “jump in “ to something that interests me and learning about it as I’m doing it…. It’s much easier than when I was younger because we had to read books or ask questions about it in a store. (I’m recalling when I decided to completely redo my grandmothers bathroom and I ran back and forth to the hardware store 😂😂😂 I’ve always found creative people (regardless of what they create) are very helpful , kind and generous in sharing their experience and knowledge. You have been the person who I found most helpful in teaching me how to create cards, different techniques, etc. I love the fact that you present it with the idea that I will have something similar to try using what you’ve shared. I laugh when I first began watching because it appeared that several people wanted to use the “exact “ dies, stamps and felt it couldn’t be done unless they had everything you used in yours 😂😂 Some people (who have many subscribers) are constantly changing their products for each video with something new from a “release “. I realized very quickly that they were getting the product free but I’d be spending more money than on groceries if I attempted to keep up. I’d found a huge sale before I knew what I was doing and my husband encouraged me to buy the items. I have plenty of things to create with!! We were looking at moving and I had put the items in packages/boxes waiting for the new house. I believe I have 5 die cutting machines!?! They were so inexpensive when I purchased them but still…. I’d forgotten what I had purchased 😂😂😂 I’m thinking about doing some classes at the library so they get used… I’m not sure why I am so chatty today…please forgive me!! I purchased a glass pen too! I just love it! I found an ink that is waterproof because I was painting prior to paper crafts and wanted something to use with watercolors. If you are ever interested I have more than I can ever use and would love to share with you. I have artists quality and some very good student brands. I use both on cards. Please let me know, Chris. I’ve shared with others but I’m not sure if you would have pay anything to receive a package from Texas. Please let me know! I also have a extra set of travel brushes. I’ll send those too. I’m not sure if they are what you were talking about. I’m DEFINITELY closing my long letter now. Sending much appreciation and blessings for you and your family Nancy Rolfe

The stopper in your ink bottle looks like it has a cross shape in it - is it an opening through which you can dip the pen and save yourself from getting inky fingers? It's hard to see on video. It sounds like you've had a wonderful retreat. BTW I think I've seen printable rice paper on the big A store when searching for the edible kind. If it's printable presumably it can take ink. Yes, Chris, you now have the foundation of an art journal. With your sense of design and color, it would be a wonderful place for some of your creating and any words or thoughts you may want to add Not everthing needs to become a card. I started with journaling and moved to cards; now I do both. What fun to have Cleo create a page with you and write on the page somewhere about her experience with her granny. And maybe you do the same about your time with her. Just another way to document your experiences. Enjoyed today's video immensely. Thanks! From Cheryl in AZ.

I started off as a card maker & rubber stamp enthusiast (for 30 years), but when the pandemic hit, I started watching RU-vid videos from all kinds of journal makers! I’m firmly in that camp now & loving it! The thing is you can bring any skill or interest you have to this arena: sewing, mixed media, collage, paper making, stamping, die cutting, ribbon & lace… well you get the picture, I’m sure!! I’m using all that I’m learning from you to create better journals, not necessarily just card-making!! All your goodies from the retreat are gorgeous! Your journal is really beautiful, Christine!
