i agree. canvas should be offered in everything. just ordered my new planner and i’m scared because i had to choose either bold blooms or the super colorful. 😭 i hope i love it.
This is my first year using an EC planner. I've been using Happy Planner for YEARS; but for some reason I felt pressured to heavily sticker each page, and I wanted to get away from that. EC seemed the way to go. One would think the transition to a Vertical Life Planner would be a no-brainer, but no! And I can't even explain why; it just doesn't 'feel right.' This video was very instrumental in my decision to change to an A5 Daily Duo. (I actually drew out a sample of the daily pages on several sheets of A5 paper and used them for a few days!) So the order has been placed, and I'm fairly confident this is the planner I never knew always needed! Thank you!
I used the perpetual calendar to make a password book for myself. I put letters at the top, using 2 letters at a time. I gave one away to my daughter who will do the same.
Hi Julie! I have a hot take for you. I always thought the compact vertical name came from the vertical columns being shorter than a regular vertical layout not the actual size of the planner itself. 🧐
I’ve been trying to hold off from buying this daily duo, but since about 87.9% of my planner purchase are enabled by Julie, I guess I’ll get my funds together now! This daily duo is amazing and EC has successfully created her version of an all in one planner. Thanks Julie 😫
You can also try the Sprouted Planner daily version. She has a very similar layout in her 2024 and her planners are already on sale so it might be an easy way to try it out.
Yes, for Canvas for goodness sake! I picked up a 7x9 Daily Duo, but honestly, I'm kind of loving my Laurel Denise right now and just hanging on by my fingernails to the Daily Duo because of the paper. I do love the new stencil bookmark and the new Duo changes. I'm personally a fan of the extra notes pages each week!
Yes, yes, yes to the Canvas love! I wanted the A5 in Canvas also, so I haven't ordered anything from this launch, yet, because of this. I also would love for them to have a Monday start on the monthly calendars.
I agree about the 7x9 compact vertical. I saw someone say that it's actually a dashboard planner and I think that works so much better! (And I agree about Canvas. One of the reasons I haven't ordered a Daily Duo is that I don't know that I really need a 7x9 but, as much as I love the Etta Vee pattern, I don't want to get an A5 if it isn't in Canvas. I don't need to decide until later, though, because I'm a calendar year planner so I have time!)
I only didn't order this time because A5 DailyDuo was not available in Canva. Hopefully, 2025 they will do that. Love that the little calendar is gone! As someone who is a night owl. I love that blank space in there to make more hours
I wanted the Canvas for the A5 too because I heavily sticker, but the Bold Blooms is beautiful so I regret nothing. I decided to try the Agenda this year but I did the yearly horizontal. I added the home and the checklist addons for daily tasks and I can’t wait for July to try it all out.
I swear they put crack in the Erin Condren paper. I forgot how much I love them. I would like to see a planner that is 2 days per page lined vertical. Like the CV but with 2 dates on each page instead of 4. I could split the column at any point with a header if I needed to or just make a long list. That would be my perfect planner. And we NEEEEEED an A5 monthly! I hope one comes out this summer.
It's strange to me that Canvas isn't fully available in all A5 sizes and formats because of the potential professional audience. People who use their planners for work often prefer the smaller, more portable formats, and also the less colorful, more neutral design. Like you said, weird business decision.
Totally agree with you on Canvas. Needs much more love. I would have loved my DD in A5 Canvas but had to settle for 7x9. Love the A5 size but not the colour options. Neutral is my fave so that I can decide what to add to it: colour, stickers, washi...or not!
Compact vertical could be the name still because its a smaller vertical space compared to their vertical. Idk that's just how I interpreted it. Lol. Yeah, the canvas not available in all sizes confuses me. I got a canvas CV last year but had to get rings since they didn't have it in a5 coil. Didn't make sense then and still doesn't now, lol.
I absolutely loved you on stage at GoWild! I do believe that the compact vertical referred to the layout as others have commented. I also agree that canvas should be a standard offering across all planners. I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to meet you in person but continue to look forward to seeing your videos.
I got my life planner in canvas but went with bold bloom for my a5 since it wasn't an option in canvas. I thought that maybe the bold bloom would be easier to cover up with sticker kits.
Totally agree about Canvas. I also found it odd that they put a "undated" weekly overview in a dated planner. But like you said, I guess they can't please everyone.
I'm guessing the weird September 30th thing is to keep the whole week together when it flows from one month to another, especially since they have those weekly pages in between each week. Take a look at the week of July 29th - Aug 4th and see if they did the same thing.
