I'm looking forward to The Fifth Season livestream, and, of course, I'll be keen to hear more of your thoughts on Deadhouse Gates! Very appropriate that you should meet that rat since you're reading Deadhouse Gates, by the way. Happy reading!
I wasn't a big fan of Vin compared to the other female leads I've read from Sanderson but I LOVE that he reflected on his work that way! also YES I loved Kelsier and I loved the ending (separately, lol) THE FACT THAT YOU ADDED A TIME STAMP FOR THE RAT!!! also oh my gosh that would be terrifying
The Broken Earth trilogy is incredible. I'm glad you enjoyed The Fifth Season. I just read The Final Empire in December and today I started The Well of Ascension. I have high expectations for this series.
The rat stole the show lol. I need to give Jemisin another go soon. I only read The Killing Moon by her ages ago, and tbh did not care for it at all really. I’ve heard so many good things about her other stuff tho. And one of these days I’ll try Malazan.... one day lol. Great video as always! Happy reading 😊😊
So many good reads. The Broken Earth series is so brutal but touches on so many themes that are relevant in our modern day. Which for me made it even darker and better. I loved Every Heary A Doorway. McGuire's prose evokes such melancholy and a desire for something unknown.
Jemisin was my discovery for 2020, love her originality and writing style. Looking forward to hear your opinion on the rest of the Broken Earth trilogy and of course the next Malazan books.
Lol, I hadn't heard Brandon Sanderson's comments about Vin being the only female character in Mistborn, but it was definitely something that I noticed when I read it! I read one of his later books, Skyward, a year later, and noticed the difference for sure.
yeah its pretty interesting. he talks about how he was so focused on vin he kind of forgot about the rest of the characters lol. I have skyward, I'm keen to read it one of these days
I finished deadhouse gates on feb 1 too counted it as Jan wrap up too and I just started fifth season like 3 chapters in and can’t wait to read more after watching your review also yes for Malazan I prefer the mass market paperback too easy to go between dramatis and the glossary there are so many different animals in seven cities my god 😂🙈and for map too
The fifth season is one of my favourite books! i only have the stone sky left to read in the series. Cant wait to hear your full thoughts in the livestream
i preferred the second book in the wayward children's series to the first, i did enjoy every heart a doorway but i think there was just a lot going on if that makes sense? like we are being introduced to the world for the first time, plus all the characters that this series of novellas follows plus the little murder mystery going on. I think it did do these things well but i preferred the second because we have that focus on jack and jill's story.
that's actually really good to hear because jack and jill were probably my favs out of the whole cast. i figured this first book would be a little messy since it is the first book so i'm looking forward to book two, especially after your endorsement
