Got one of these for review as well and agree fully about the fan noise. If they could use a quieter fan I think they’d have a pretty nice light.

I just commented on your ML60 video on why I should get it over a Ninja 400, not yet awake enough to realize if there is a 400, there's probably a smaller version that more closely matches the ML60 and.... here I am! And there are your answers! LOL, thank you.

They sent me this light to test it out as well, and I found another problem: the bowens adapter. At least in the one they sent me, it comes loose too easily. I mount it on the light, I hear the "click" meaning it should be in place but with a light touch it just falls off. I found it out the hard way when an 80cm octabox fell on me while I was moving the light around. Did you have a similar issue?
@FellowFilmmaker
@FellowFilmmaker 2 года назад
Interesting to hear. I did not get or receive the adapter, so I can't say the same. But thanks for sharing

I would like to know about what filters you use for video. I have 1/4 black mist and a variable ND that I use mostly for video. Do you shoot with LOG and if so how do you process it afterwards?
@FellowFilmmaker
@FellowFilmmaker 3 года назад
I use a moment cinebloom filter 10%. No LOG, and just some very basic adjusting in post. :D Might do a video on it soon

Was wondering if the reflector mounts on these are the same, i.e. would the godox reflector fit the NInja 200 or would the weeylite bowens adapter fit the ml60?
@FellowFilmmaker
@FellowFilmmaker 2 года назад
They are not the same size, one is much smaller than the other

Would LOVE to hear your opinion on the Sokani x60 RGB in comparison to this M60bi. I was about to pull the trigger with this ML60bi but the Sokani has me in doubt: It's 80w (not sure if that means greater, equal, or less brightness considering it's RGB), it has a Bowens mount, it's 200 bucks, and of course... it's RGB vs just bicolor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! 🙏🏻
@FellowFilmmaker
@FellowFilmmaker 2 года назад
If you think you'll use an RGB of that size and price and everything else looks good, go for it. I don't know anything about the Sokani so I can't say if it's better or good or anything like that. But if you feel you'll get more for the price, then maybe it is a good fit for you. :D I love the MLbi just cuz it's a color temp situation I find myself utilizing often. I tend to use RGB sparingly.
@electrichimp

@@FellowFilmmaker yeah i was just looking for a portable first key light, and rgb looked tempting though i might not needed as much to be honest. I’m checking the specs and the sokani has an output of 6200lux or so at 1m with the reflector compared to the 10100lux of the ml60bi, so maybe it might be best to focus on getting the highest output considering that the purpose is to serve as a keylight while staying portable 🤔 thank you for all the inputs!!!

Not sure if you could answer this or not, but I’m getting into shooting local commercials, product commercials, and things like that. Do you think the ML60 would be powerful enough to use as the main key light for those type of scenarios?
@FellowFilmmaker
@FellowFilmmaker 3 года назад
Product commercials yes, local commercials it depends on the needs. But If you're indoors often and have a good camera, then it's pretty decent. However, I typically advise a more powerful keylight because there are times, especially in product video, you need something more powerful for higher frame rate shooting or darker product situations. Godox UL150 is great.

I like the way you present your video ie. Quality of video & audio. But I don't know why you are not getting more subscribers and views What is the ** strategy of this RU-vid . You're good with your content anyway

Glad you love the channel! Its hard to talk to those topics without treading into hot water, legally. I'll see what I can do, but can't promise anything as I'm not a professional advisor in those areas.

Why do you call it a knock-off of the ML60 though?? Not because 2 products are similar that one has to be a knock-off of the other.
@FellowFilmmaker
@FellowFilmmaker 3 года назад
Hmm good point. I suppose in my mind it acts like one (less thought and quality put into it) therefore is probably why I called it one.
