Demi Donnelly .... That’s good to know and you shouldn’t have to explain but being so open with viewers leaves you open to questions and scrutiny. We saw you transform your mum’s kitchen and that was amazing, you did yourself proud. It was a lovely extra! x
It's mental how all the little things becomes £300!! Love the video, I wish more people would do these in the UK to make me feel less guilty about my overspending 😝😝😝
Shes 23, don't get salty.. I remember being 19 and spending money like water, enjoy it! Then you have a house and 2 kids, they literally breath and spend money 🤣
Love this video. I am constantly crunching the numbers in my budget so I can save as much as I can. Good on you for having a savings for a house. You are way ahead most of the 23 year olds in the States!
My absolute favourite RU-vidr ever ! Love you girl. You, your channel and your videos just cheer me up so much ! Demi, you are an inspiration and your down to earthness, your realness and your natural ability to relate to your subbies just blows me away. Never stop being you 💓💓 xxx
I really enjoyed this type of video demi. It also gives you an insight to what you are spending each week. Well done for saving money too and you pay a bargain price for rent.
£308 pw.. £1334 pm.. I’d say that’s pretty good going considering you’d get this wage on most minimum wage jobs in the country. Not living too outside of your means but splurging when you want to and still managing to save! Clever lass, great video xx
@Lucy Turner I wouldn't say this is bragging! Demi puts a lot of work in for her money too by the way. I spend very differently to her (I am extremely budget conscious when it comes to buying food, have a mortgage, bills etc.) but I still really enjoyed this video. The title is what "I" (Demi) spends in a week not what the average 23yo spends. Good on her for putting it out there for us :)
Hi demi love ur videos x will you please make a week in my life just like a week vlog I really liked this video and that sounds something that would be a good video. Love u❤️I also really liked ur 5am morning routine if u could do one of those videos again not necessarily 5am just whenever u wake up 💖
Demi, you must be psychic sally. Ever since these ‘what i spend...’ videos started I’ve wanted a UK version, I open my RU-vid and BOOM there you are with it. Absolute gem you are. xx
I’d love to see you do a comparison video to this, by cooking food your self for the week and spending minimal on drinks/food shopping etc and see how much you save?
Don't fall into the trap of dividing you're monthly spend by 4 to get weekly. There's 28 days in 4 weeks and 11 months of the year have more days than that. It might be only a couple of extra days a month but it adds up to an extra 4 weeks a year that you're not counting!
I can't believe how much money you spend on take away food and drinks! Why dont you prepare food for lunch and get a flask thingy and make your own coffee? Demi what you spend in a week on take away could be a person's entire weeks wages here in the North. Get smart lovely. In four weeks that's over £1000!! Save eating out to say twice a week and it'll be something to look forward too for you and Shaun. I don't mean to preach doll but when you live alone you will not be able to live like this. Great video hun. Thank you x
@@DemiDonnelly yes of course.. I'm married with kids and a mortgage and I was just really shocked at how much you spend. But you're right I shouldn't have preached to you. You have the right to live exactly as you want x
Everyone’s life is different, stop giving her a hard time. It’s her mums decision how much she charges her daughter and I’m pretty sure she would rather have her daughter at home anyways atm till she can be comfortable to find her own place. Demi is so honest and down to earth. One of my favourite RU-vidrs for that reason. Demi is hard working & as we have seen though out her videos she treats her mum when she can. Keep being honest and so down to Earth my love ❤️
The amount of people on here making judgments about what she spends in a week is mad. At the end of the day - its her money and she can do exactly as she pleases with it. I'd very much imagine she knows she could save more if she wanted to but at the end of the day its her money and just because you have different circumstances doesn't mean she's bragging in anyway.
It doesn't if you learn to cook & your job doesnt revolve around being in coffee shops. Not including rent, utility bills, council tax or car insurance, I average around £60-70 per week easily. With those things it's more like £250, which on my salary allows me to save about £150 per week, or £7,800 per year.
This video is interesting. And you always bring interesting content. Everybody spends their hard earned money differently. Sometimes people can be judgemental, but it is your own money.
That's crazyyy Im 21 living out of home and at university, I work the weekends, on minimum wage and I earn like 370-400 some months its crazy how your week would have to last my month
I’m proper gutted. Me and ma boyf had city break in newcastle 2 wks ago and i was so hopin to see you around. We legit sat where you were when visiting the Christmas market😨😨😨
Make the most of it while you can , you should try and save more for your house while you earn such good money and take advantage while your mum is so kind 😊 I will be the same with my kid under my roof and help them as much as I can whilst making them learn to pay their way c
I’m nearly 25, in a very well paid job and only pay £25 a week to stay at home. My mum isn’t in a position to give me money towards buying a house, so she lets me stay at home for a nominal amount. That’s her way of helping me.
Omg loved this video, inspired me to try this challenge myself. I love watching Ur challenges Ur such a lovely person. I don't always s comment but always like and watch Ur videos Ur RU-vid journey is so inspiring and amazing as watched from when you only had a couple of thousand :D xxx
To the people commenting saying stop spending on takeaways and coffee - it's Demi's money so who are you to tell her how it's spent.. I'm going to be doing a no buy January. Only food for the house and toiletries. No buying clothes etc, which is going to be tough 😂
I really want to do a months spend for a full time 21 year old worker on minimum wage also renting a house 😂 just to compare! As much as I’d love to do that, I’d love to be able to eat out more and have takeaways, it’s a dream. X
Great vid Demi. I live in Berkshire (near London) and prices didn't seem much different. I thought parking would be cheaper up there. It's £4 for an hour here generally. Hope you are feeling better hun xx
wowsers, i try not to spend more than £50 in a week. I stay at home as much as possible to avoid spending money. Fab video idea though hun. I think i may have to do it. Its crazy how all the small things like coffees add up isnt it. xxx
I think it’s good that you clarified where you lived in the UK, as you said your spend would be much less than if you were living in London, possibly Manchester or Birmingham because drinks / social stuff is much more expensive the more South you go in the UK. And as a 23 year old in London many years ago - you would spend money like water - so people would need to take this into account. A round of drinks in London would not be £18 😂 Great video though xx
Rolled my eyes and had a cheeky smirk when Demi said “if anyone has asmthaaa please make suraa that ya carryy ya inhaler with yi” because I’m 110% guilty of not having my inhaler on me when I need it 😂🥺 Honesty love you gal! Such an inspiration 💫
Hey Demi! I know you're doing really well with your diet but I was just wondering if you'd try out a juice cleanse? I've just ordered a 3 day juice cleanse from fuel station and wanted you to try it and film it
Gosh I regret reading the comments before watching the video. After reading the criticism I expected it to be a really high weekly amount. When I was a student at 19 I could spend £25 on all food for a week. But being older and not having to only spend £25 anymore means I don't. It seems a bit daft to criticise someone else's spending because it doesn't suit your own ideals. I could easily spend less and easily spend more than I do. It also depends where else the money needs to go. If I was poor again, I'd be back on £25 and could do it for less. I just wouldn't like to. I do always think though that any £5 I can avoid spending on things I won't enjoy any more than not having it (e.g. skipping a starter on a meal out, but still having the meal out, or not buying an extra drink when out, but still going out for a drink) is £5 more I don't have to make. I guess my only question is, with a job solely on RU-vid, pension/savings provision is probably going to have to start earlier and cost more. And I'd be interested to know what Demi does for that (because the Help to Buy ISA is presumably just for a house, and isn't at the level that an exclusive pension pay in would need to be to make a longer term difference).
Forget tech insurance!! I read the t&cs for my phone insurance and unless you get burgled you wont get a pay out, like if lose it on the bus or the club sometine takes it from your bag etc your not covered!! Read the t&cs to see and save money gal!!
i spend £249 a week just on bills 😕without any luxuries, or things i need. This covers rent, my half of household bills, personal bills inc phone, car ect, food & petrol. It’s crazy how much things add up to!!! i try live off £50 a week for anything i need, shampoo ect, house bits, window cleaners. but try and save some of that, it’s hard especially up to christmas. and things going wrong like cars. There’s not much money left at the end of the month at all a couple of pounds. x
@Lucy Turner yeah I know but I think youtubers earn a ridiculous amount so Demi will have more disposable income for coffees etc compared to the average 23 year old
I was thinking through the video “Wow, Everything seems so cheap...” That’s until I realised that in Australia the conversion rate pretty much doubles from dollars to pound haha! I really love the idea of this video though!!
So much money 😭 I'd never understand why people would waste money this quickly 😂 (no hate just personal opinion). Can easily save half by taking food from home, making hot drinks yourself, park on roads where you don't need to pay and just walk the extra bit etc
And then there's me that spends £200 a month 😂😂 saving like hell atm! But dont let people make you feel bad it's your money you spend it how you want! Nobody else's business. Also i dont give my money any money for living at home, she refuses any money i just treat her now and then, everyone is different!
Sooooo much judgement here in the comments. At the end of the day, what you spend is only excessive if it’s more than your income. I think this expenditure is very reasonable. Compared to my own expenses it’s tiny.
wow thats a nice video ill need to try film it as well, I think it would be cool to see how much and where I spend, I always don't know wheres my money goes XD
Spend spend spend whilst you can!! When you have a home and all the bills that come with that and add kids you won’t have it 😂😂 god the amount of bills and that I have to pay for and having a 8 yr old girl and I’m 29 weeks preg with my boy 😂 bye bye money 💰 I love looking at my monthly wage for a few minutes before I end up paying the rent and council tax and everything else that comes with being an adult 😂😭 Loved the video was great 👍🏼❤️ xx
Literally love your videos. Sounds crazy but this video was so good for me i'm a student at uni and struggle to work out where my money actually goes haha. This video made me think of a few things i can save money on.
