Am I too old to be doing one of these? Lol. I filmed and recorded everything I spent money on during a recent week in London, so you can see how much things cost and you can be super nosy into what I spend because lord knows I personally LOVE this kinda stuff 🤣
Watch to see what this Londoner spends in an average week in London. And this video is part of my Back to London series, where I tell you about my big move back to London and also what it's like to live in this amazing city... both the good and the bad!

Looking at this (as usual, excellent) video from L&L, what strikes me is the amount of money spent on fast-food / coffees, rather than making sandwiches at home, flasks of coffee, etc. It's the liitle, incremental, day-after-day expenses that REALLY add up - and it's scary when you total it for the year. Yikes! That said, it's up to everyone how they spend teir day-to-day money - I do respect that.

Im pleased you seem settled in your new place and producing new content. Just out of interest have you seen any of the reaction videos Americans do to British Comedies? Hi Jess . Thanks for sharing . I found the breakdown of your weekly spending very interesting . As an ex pat living in Vancouver , Canada I would love to have internet and cell phone ( mobile phone ) bills that low ! BTW , 31 is not old ! Some of us would love to be able to turn back the clock to that age LOL ! More cost comparison videos please . I know you've done some before like the ones about the high end apartments . Last time in London my daughter and I took a stroll through Harrods ( touristy I know ) and saw a man's jacket that cost more than our entire 4 week vacation and I was spending money like a drunken sailor ( my choice ) , no disrespect to sailors who like a drink intended !

My cellphone was cheap in the UK, but remember making calls *to* a cellphone from a landline can be expensive - that's where they made a lot of money early on (sometimes the wrong side of £1 per minute!) Broadband can be cheap there, or it can be good; I've stayed in some rentals with really dire broadband. Excited about Google Fiber coming here in September though: 1 Gbps for $70/month. @@jas88cam The first time I was in London was the first year Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister!! I think it was 1984!! Inflation was WAY out of control over there & one way that was tried to SLOW it down was by messing with Import Tariffs. This backfired on them in a major way. If you're in London just ask your parents if they remember that huge 'digital' sign that was in a very prominent place there that showed their National Debt in real time!!

@@marthaross6301 My first trip was in 84 and we would spend most of the summers and other holidays until the late 90s. My dad worked about half in the UK and half in Texas. I remember back when Thatcher was first elected they had this huge electronic sign up that showed their National Debt in real time. They had a huge problem there in the 70s & 80s with uncontrolled debt and inflation. It was similar to what America was going through & Thatcher pulled them out of it just as Reagan did for us. Part of their problem is they kept the Pound artificially high & that really hurt trade.
