I just watched this movie this weekend, and it's so good! I started to watch the remake after I watched the original, and I just couldn't do it. The 1975 version was so much better!
Just watched it now. Sir your movie made me feel so anxious and unsettled in a way most horror movies do not lol effective is probably the best way to describe this film. Also the main actor was so damn good I felt genuine anger towards him lol
If Robin Williams is comforting to you, I highly recommend The Birdcage. Thank you for all of the movie recommendations!✨Also, The House part one was amazing (definitely the best part of the movie). I enjoy all of your content and hope 2022 treats you well!
I loved The Fallout, it was definitely an instant favorite especially as someone in high school rn. It felt rly relatable like these characters were people I knew.
The Stepford Wives with Nicole Kidman is a remake. The orginal camevout in 1975. It is a thriller and is very good. You need to watch this one. Fallout is good. Yes i cried too.
I went to Blue Ridge Rockfest 2021 in Danville, VA because the tickets were affordable for us at the time and it was a KILLER lineup. I’d never been to a festival before, and a lot of people compared it to Woodstock ‘99 but none of that craziness happened. No riots, no SA, people really looked out for each other. We had to walk a mile or two from our cars to the fest grounds and I (26, female, larger figure, fibromyalgia) was hoofing it. My face was the color of a tomato when someone stopped, went into their bag, and found a bottle of water for me. It was definitely a little out of our small town’s expectation of what it would be, but I had a blast. The vibe was great and I feel like most people were looking out for one another.
Identity is actually one of my all time favourite horror movies! It's the era, the vibes, the plot, however I do think *the issue* needs to be taken into consideration when thinking about it critically
Thank you for recommending Come True! You're the only horror fan I follow who's talked about it&I watched it in January b/c of you. I really enjoyed everything about it! The tone, the imagery, the fall vibes, the cool-toned lighting throughout, I even didn't mind the ending. I can't wait to rewatch it when I'm in the right mood.
Thank you for the documentary suggestion. I did not grow up in that time, but did go to quite a few music festivals when I was younger and that doc was unbelievable. I had to rewatch the scene when Korn starts to play about 20 times because the shot of the crowd is terrifying.
Devil hits a nostalgia bone for me. It's a movie I saw as a blossoming horror fan and I remember it fondly. I watch it nowadays every now and again (like 6 month intervals) and still enjoy it.
So I've had Paramount Plus for more than a year but barely watched anything, so I decided to catch up on a couple of shows. Evil is one about a psychologist working with the catholic church to determine if someone is actually possessed or mentally ill (horror/suspense) and ghosts is about a house a woman inherits that has ghosts that she can see (humor). If you want to check out some new shows I recommend those. Only movie I've watched in the last month is Encanto 😆
The House is probably gonna be one of the best movies I'll see this year. It was absolutely gorgeous. Comedic timing was well done, it was shot beautifully, and the voice acting was incredible. The last segment broke my heart.
I did a project over 10 years ago in highschool where we had to take a movie and change its genre and present a visual as well as an essay and I did stepford wives as a horror 😊 I thought it would be really cool and potentially have Tim burton as the director would be cool cuz if it was done in like a snowy setting it could have been really awesome
I also watched Woodstock 99 this month and was so fascinated! I was only 10 at that time but totally can remember all the different societal things they talked about that were going in the 90s. Such an interesting documentary. Also loved The House!!
I’m so excited to watch the house!!! I’m always down for any stop motion / claymation movies, any genre ! Coraline will forever be a favourite and I’m just chasing movies that feel like it (haven’t had much success)
I love that you're talking about non-horror movies as well! Plus both those you did and didn't like. Stepford Wives is one of my favorite movies of all time. I recommend the original if you haven't watched it, it's even more disturbing, but I also love the Nicole Kidman one. Thanks for your reviews
I would also consider myself an atypical Korn/Numetal fan and I absolutely LOVED the Woodstock 99 doc! I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears. Also was so surprised if never really heard about it before!
first time commenter, moderately long time viewer. the first act of the house reminded me of a stop-motion short i saw a long time ago called "the separation" here on youtube. highly recommend a watch. it influenced me heavily into liking horror but also liking horror stories that had a truly beautiful and heartbreaking story at its heart.
hi Sarah, great video as always, hope your surgery went great! I know you made a video about the Haunting of hill house/Bly Manor and the whole franchise so even tho ur content is not centred around series i’d recommend you watching The Sinner on netflix, the fourth season just came out and I feel like you’d enjoy it !! kbye 💓
Omggggg I love your videos!!! You have such a similar taste to me! And I loved "The House" on Netflix. My favorite was also the first short!!! Be my cat was.... Not good to me at all. It's one of those shaky camera movies to me. Btw thank you so much for posting!!! Your videos make me so happy
OMG on Hulu you MUST watch Gaia!! Not only is the cinematography absolutely stunning, it’s an Eco-horror film that is done just so well. It’s trippy as hell, the special effects are beautiful, and it’s just such an interesting story that I needed to go to Google to help me understand 😂Not enough people are talking about this movie, but I highly recommend ♥️
Two recent films I loved were "Come True" and "The Last Thing Mary Saw". Both very unusual and moody. "Come True" has an ending that knocked my socks off.
OMG I LOVE "BE MY CAT!" totally uncomfortable. I've watched it three times. It's on Kings Of Horror channel if you want to see it for free. TOO much fun.
Not sure if this would fall under the category of movies that you’re not into, but I would recommend Hard candy. I love the psychological aspects of it and think you would enjoy it also
hey Sarah! i did a whole video of what i watched in January on my other channel as well, but I must say I disagree on The House lol. I love weird and bizarre movies and the first story was so good, but the second one grossed me out and the third was very bland, in my opinion! but I'm glad you liked it, I'm just sharing my personal thoughts. thanks for all this great content and I'm so happy your feeling better after the surgery too. are you going to see Death On The Nile this February as well?
Not quite sure if you'd be into this type of movie since Robin Williams is a comfort actor for you but, if you haven't already seen it there is one called The Night Listener and it's actually pretty decent. Glad you're feeling better and always appreciate your recommendations since we have the same taste in horror/thriller movies! 🙃
You didn't mention so I'm not sure if you knew but... The Stepford Wives is a remake and both films are based on a thriller/horror novel by Ira Levin (Rosemary's Baby). The 1975 film is MUCH different in tone, intention, and has a completely different ending so if you haven't seen it--it's pretty dark compared to the 2004 "satiric" version. I like both, but prefer the original, and I suspect you would too based on your review of the newer one!
I watched The House! it was so fun to discuss everything about it, I’d love to hear a full review if you ever made one! I have to watch Woodstock 99 I also love nu metal, people are … -_-
Oh man I was so looking forward to The House, and also absolutely loved the first short film, but COULD NOT make it through the second one, it made me so nauseous 🤢
Ryan Hollinger did a great analysis of Identity! (It has spoilers so I suggest only watching it if you’ve seen the movie first) Also, The Stepford Wives was filmed in my hometown :)
Fun story about Identity! My father's birthday is May 10th, and for his birthday on the year Identity came out, my mother and him went to the theatre to watch it. Nothing about the film creeped out my dad as much as the characters finding out that they all shared the same birthday. May 10th.
and how Be My Cat made you feel weird, that's what Hereditary did to me...like for 3 days, i felt the ICKS!! Mother just left me shocked and confused for like a week. LOL
i just watched 4 of my guilty pleasure horror type movies, WW2 horror XD: Overlord-(ww2 nazi zombies), WarHunt-(ww2 nazi witches), Ghosts of War-(ww2 ghosts), Blood Vessel-(ww2 nazi vampires) ps: im a sucker for zombies and war type horror specially ww2. watched recently also some korean hits like: All of us are dead, Kingdom, and the movie that is a prequel to the kingdom tv show- Kingdom: Ashin of the North. recomend all of them
I liked Identity but even without the bad idea behind it I just wasn't into the twist. Sure I never would've guessed it but it felt like we were screwed out of a good ending.
So crazy I also re-watched Jumanji! I saw it on Walmart and bought it cause I didn't own the DVD and it had been a good few years since I last watched it lol definitely a classic!!
I watched Woodstock 99 when you posted about it on Insta and OMG! I was like wow! It’s insane honestly. Gonna watch some of your recommendations in this too.
Thanks for Be My Cat, I would surely avoid it. Identity I watched it in January too but first time and I thought it was okay and If you haven't seen Yellowjackets yet then I would recommend you to watch it asap.
