Here is Part 2/2 of what I wish I knew before starting my coding bootcamp journey. FAQ ABOUT ME || Current Location: Atlanta, Georgia Education: B.S. and M.S. in Biology Instagram and Twitter: @onooks Contact: controlaltdenise@gmail.com
Thanks so much for updating throughout your cohort and continuing to do so! I'm starting GA on the 21st and your videos and comments have been a tremendous help.
Thanks so much! I have been watching your videos and they have been so helpful! I am starting my bootcamp in September and it’s super scary as I will have to leave my full time job for the bootcamp. Not sure what job market will be in December when I finish my bootcamp with holidays and also pandemic….but I decided to do it! What was the expectation vs reality after you started working in the industry as I saw your video that you got a job
Overall, do you feel like the program was worth the money? What suggestions can you make to someone with no prior tech experience going into the full-time remote immersive SE course?
To be honest if you have to sign an ISA to do it then I wouldn’t recommend it. As someone with no tech experience I would say take some time to do some courses on your own before starting a bootcamp and look for scholarships
@@ctrlaltdenise8 I would take out a personal loan from the bank and pay upfront. Way better deal interest wise than the ISA. So not sure if that changes your answer but I’m looking at a total cost of like 12k as opposed to 16k. What is needed knowledge wise to feel like your not completely lost when you start? HTML, CSS, and Java basic understanding? And maybe a small amount of data structures and algorithms? I’m really excited and committed to this but I don’t want to regret jumping into the program prematurely. I have absolutely no commitments the next three months and I’m thinking of starting end of Oct. let me know if you have any more thoughts. Thank you!
@@TheSteezeNugget I would say HTML, CSS, Javascript emphasis on Javascript and learn a front end library like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS so you can make your projects look good before you start but if you only have time for 1 then focus on Javascript. 100% Data Structures and Algorithims DAILY check out my dream job in tech video
