Buzz bait, Jackhammer Chatterbait in black and blue, junebug or grape senko style worms. I like Berkeley gulp in purple or watermelon. Just let them sit. Top water black Choppo or frog. These simple three are what I fish in the panhandle about 95% of the time. When it’s windy, 1/2 ounce white spinner bait with trailer hook. I catch a lot of 3 to 6 lb bass and get the occasional big bite.

I live in north Florida and fish every week and kinda not in agreement with certain things. Baits spot on. Except square bill crank if u know how to fish it through the hydrilla But cold fronts is some of my best fishing for major bigs. But that’s Florida and everyone finds there own grooves. Deep deep in summer works wonders (15-25 is deep deep in Florida).

I'm in broward county, south of Palm Beach, I have never seen a golden shiner or a shad in any small lake or pond. They do definitely eat bluegill, but mostly small tilapia and cichlids. Maybe on the larger lake like Lake O, or Headwaters. But south of Palm beach nope! But love your content 👍🎣

According to JT Kenny, a FWC biologist told him that 75% of a Florida bass diet is bluegill. Of the remaining 25, 15% was crawfish. Crawfish are very prolific in waters with vegetation. The remaining 10% is shinners, shad and frogs. At the same time remember we have large he populations of tilapia which bass are getting attuned to eating.
@nathanquincefishing7122
@nathanquincefishing7122 2 года назад
Yep! Not saying they don’t eat crawfish just that they aren’t the majority forage as they only are about 15 percent they spend more time eating other types of fish mostly!

So I have to laugh. You know your stuff yo. I been fishing this pond down from my house in Fl and I know there are bass in there. I saw a dead baby when I first went there. I been fishing it for a long time and never got bass to bite. I used worms crawdads buzzbaits frogs. Texas rigged Carolina rigged. After watching this I tried my silver lure with the chatter weights in it. I found the one that looked closest to a silver shad. 5 casts caught biggest bass I caught yet since I started fishing again. I knew they were in there. You sir are a Florida bass fishing guru.

There is good fishing in cold fronts here in Florida... I fished Florida my whole life. Born and raised here. The trick to catching big bass in Florida in the cold fronts it to slow down and fish deep pockets. Don't tell people they can't catch big fish down here in the winter or during cold fronts because that's just not true. The season best known for charter bass fishing is in the Florida winter time.

The absolute easiest way to catch bass is the Wacky worm. While it's not 'covering water' it is very successful at getting bass. I think VMC makes a Neko Weedless hook. It has a 50lb. fluorocarbon weed guards that work in hydrilla. Oh.. Side Scan does work in Florida. It will help find brush piles that hold good bass.

If you find hydrilla folks, I assure you there are bass there. Now they may not bite, but they are there. On overcast days and low pressure days, work the edges and where it is more sparse. Hydrilla is not as abundant as it once was due to the insane spraying that goes on down here. Spraying has ruined so many fisheries here that it is sad. Also, why he didn't mention this, but never come to Florida without having horny toads or frog baits. If you find grass of any kind, swim a horny toad over it and you will understand why. Horny toads or swimming frog baits are one of my go to's along with Senko style stick baits. Punching heavy hyacinth is also a must here. If you find hyacinth, (again hard to do sometimes due to the spraying) and it is mixed in with reeds and hydrilla, fish it with flipping techniques. Punch the thick stuff. Now, if it is a cloudy low pressure day, don't bother flipping or punching. Go with the lipless or spinnerbaits or other vertical presentations. I prefer spinner baits over chatterbaits as chatterbaits swim higher in the water column. But they work good when they are on that bite. Be prepared to catch mudfish. We have an abundance of them and they love spinnerbaits and lipless baits. Use a fish grabber to handle them. They roll like an Alligator and can tear up your baits. Chug bugs worked slow can produce awesome results but those pencil top water baits are hard to beat. Devils horse etc. In the winter I use lipless baits a lot. I have caught my 2 biggest bass on them here. Florida is the best place in the country for them. (Well compared to TX, GA, AR, TN, CO, NE, and KS, places I have fished). Just wanted to add that little bit to your otherwise good video.

Good video. Lots of tips. We went down there and booked a guide out and the day we went out it was a cold front. Was very slow fishing that day.

Very interesting and informative video. This was my 1st video of yours that I have watched. I watched it completely through 2 times as a check and recheck. Central Florida (Harris Chains and Kissimmee Chains, etc.) have such finicky fish at certain times and even the Pros find those areas to be odd for finding patterns. What you said in this video was Spot-on about where they hang out and what baits and colors they like to bite on. The exception s that were not mentioned was Bubble Gum Pink and Black/Purple or Blue/Purple stick baits, especially Trick Worms. Anyway, glad I found your channel! I could see myself subscribing at some later point, liked it that much. Thank you for a great video.

With the swim jig in FL do you recommend the 3/8oz or a 1/2 oz weight or both
@nathanquincefishing7122
@nathanquincefishing7122 2 года назад
I recommend both! 3/8 for shallower emergent vegetation like lily pads and 1/2 for deeper submerged grass!

Being born and raised in north Florida ( st John's and rodman's home water). You just about nailed it, especially if your not from Florida. There's still a secret or two you need to add to your bait arsenal but you're pretty close. I know 2 baits right off the top of my head that are musts you didn't mention. And never forget a big worm down here. 12-14" worms
@nathanquincefishing7122

I couldn’t mention everything and fit it all into a reasonable length RU-vid video! I tried to make it geared to the person just visiting for the first time as the fishing is so different
