Please can we have the 20 best teams in the Premier League, the next best 24 teams in the Championship, the next 24 teams in League One, the next 24 teams in League Two. And also the teams that have been removed from English football to make room for this are swapped into the empty spaces in the other leagues. This will also mess up those leagues, because La Liga will feature mainly its normal teams but could also have Macclesfield Town and Charlton Athletic in it as well as a couple of other English teams.

An Idea: randomise the teams so they all end up in random leagues and random countries. So completely random Spanish second division teams end up in the EPL and some EPL team ends up in the Italian league or something

some explanations from a semi-experienced FIFA editor for what's going on here, in case you ever read this niran (or anyone else who's watching this 5 years later): -There's actually far more logic in the game's systems that require tinkering to make a 40 team league than simply adding another 20 teams. "leagues" and "competitions" are separate in the game's data structures (this _does_ include league competitions, such as the premier league, bundesliga, etc). The critical failing I see here is that, in a competition's setup stage, there's logic that determines what teams are involved. This is more complicated for continental competitions and multi-league domestic cups and what not, but for league competitions this tends to be simply "get teams from league x". However, the logic asks for specifically HOW MANY teams it needs. The modder likely either forgot that step or, unfortunately, reached some sort of limit that was causing crashes (as editing FIFA tends to do), so the game is pulling 20 teams from this 40 team league for the premier league (likely at random, I'd ASSUME it's being done by id but I know that Arsenal has the first id at 1 and it isn't in the prem in this video) and the other 20 simply Just Exist, Somewhere. This is updated when the season is initialised every june/july, which is why teams seemingly blipped in and out of existence in the second season. Oh, and of course since the FA Cup is an entirely separate competition, if the modder left that alone then it'd operate as normal like in the video, "missing" teams included. -Also, the reason the schedule isn't congested is a combination of the above and also that the schedule isn't randomly generated, schedules must be manually made for each competition. For anyone who's used creation master, there's a SHOCKING amount of freedom with how you can set up a tournament and how it progresses; want to make an 8-team knockout cup competition where it's a double elimination bracket for the top 4 teams and a single elim for the bottom 4, like in australia? yeah go ahead, as long as you know how to program that logic yourself. -Lastly, the reason the european competitions looked mostly normal is each league has its previous real life season's results hardcoded (modifiable with modding tools, but an inherent property of the competition otherwise) in its data specifically SO the game knows which teams to pull for the first year european competitions. This actually typically only contains the relevant teams- I know the bundesliga has the top 9 teams in its data, while leagues that don't have continental competitions (for example, the MLS) probably only store last year's winner.

I think this had to do with the Career Mode files? As in the Premier League is assigned to run with twenty teams, so the game sorts out twenty teams and goes along with it. Now how the hell the Bundesliga didn't crash the game via not having any teams, I dunno.
