What if Anakin Had KILLED Palpatine and Ruled the Republic? 

I'd like to reinforce this point. All the Sepratists had was Grevious and Obi-Wan was on a mission to kill him.

That's what was confusing me. By the time Anakin discovered that Palpatine was a Sith, the war was almost over, with Count Dooku and General Grievous both dead and the Separatist Council retreating to Mustafar. Mace Windu and the other masters were on their way to report that to the Chancellor. Thus if Anakin had killed him, it wouldn't have continued the war.

Wasn't grievous dead by then? he was dead before Order 66, and by the time Anakin would have reported to the council that he killed palpatine, Obi-Wan would already have killed him or would be chasing mid-mission.

The death star wasn't really under the control of the republic, as palpitines sympathisers were running the death stars construction it's likely that they would have handed it back to the separatists, Probably Grevious if he lived somehow. Failing that I could for see it ending up with maul somehow. Though, Yeh Dooku was dead, I don't see a way around that.

I understand them not wanting to associate too closely with real-world ideologies, but a noun-chism is pretty standard naming convention for followers of a particular person or ideology, hence Revanchists and I suppose Anakchists? Heh, anarchist. Anyways, yeah there is definitely a Revanchist vibe going on here; Republic gets into a war with an enemy that (in this line of events) is winning and needs serious stopping at all costs. Some Jedi choose to lead, believing it to be the right thing, while the more passive Jedi choose to do nothing, but then punish those who went (Council punish Anakin for his use of the Death Star) and all the Jedi who went to war slowly turn to the darkside without realising it. I'm starting to get the impression maybe Darth Revan was just an alt-history of Anakin (ignoring the release dates of the movies/games).

Actually, the majority of Republic soldiers in the Clone Wars were normal citizens who belonged to the local security forces and Judicial Forces. The GAR (clone troopers) was an elite frontline branch. This only makes sense, considering that there were only about 3 million of them, which means the Republic would only have slightly more than two clone troopers per planet. The GAR was later transformed into the Stormtrooper Corps which also was an elite branch and the local security forces and Judicial Forces infantry were reorganized as the Imperial Army, which, again, was the largest branch of the Imperial military. Most people believe that clone troopers and stormtroopers were standard soldiers but that isn't actually true. They were elite soldiers and relatively few.

Ah ok, so things like regular garrison work and peace keeping on Republic-Planets remained in the hands of the Judicial Forces Entirely. Thanks for the heads up. I actually if the Judicial Forces and Local Defense Forces received some of the newer Vehicles, Starships and Equipment the Clones had. I mean, the Clone Wars series doesn´t show it, and in the Comics, you barely get a glimbs of them, unless you count in the Comic that revolves around the Dreadnaughts of the Rendilii defense Fleet.

Yes, the CGI Clone Wars show mostly focused on the GAR. Also, this show messed up the entire Clone Wars timeline quite a bit because it contradicted much of the previously established EU. Most of the Judicial Forces/planetary defense forces stuff is mentioned in comics, novels and reference books. I think in the new canon, Clone Troopers are supposed to be the standard soldiers of the Republic, but I don't like that because it's unrealistic. Firstly, it would be extremely expensive to breed AND train a galaxy-spanning elite army and secondly, how can a single facility on a single planet deliver so many troops? In Episode II, Lama Su said that 200.000 troopers were ready and a million more well on the way. That makes 1.2 million clone troopers at the beginning of the war. During the Clone Wars, the Republic consisted of slightly below 1.5 million planets. Sure, not every single planet has to be defended, but if you divide all the clone troopers by branches (Army, Navy, Starfighter Corps), you have even fewer of them for their specific job. And if you spread them across the galaxy, then you have EVEN fewer. In comparison, the US Army had over 1.5 million soldiers in France alone during WW2. Ah and BTW, in your first comment, you said "Sadly, in my point of view, the millenias of Peace made the majority of the Republics citizenry reluctant to serve in the Military, since they had the Clones to do the fighting for them." About a decade before Episode I, there was a political faction called the militarists (they were led by Ranulph Tarkin, a cousin of Wilhuff Tarkin) who gained much support from the population during that time. Their goal was to go against the Ruusan Reformation and restore the Republic military by uniting all the local defense forces and Judicial Forces under a single command. Ranulph Tarkin founded the Republic Outland Regions Security Force from the defense force of his home planet Eriadu. It was supported by many other Outer Rim systems because they wanted to be safe from pirates. Ranulph was later killed during the Stark Hyperspace War but the RORSF remained and became the largest and most effective security force in the Outer Rim. Anyway, the militarists remained an important political faction and were the most important supporters of Palpatine, the war against the separatists and later of the Empire. Long story short, there were many citizens who supported the military and joined voluntarily. In the Clone Wars, the RORSF was incorporated into the 18th Sector Army, which means that there were normal citizens even within the GAR. Another fun fact: After the Battle of Naboo, the RORSF received many impounded military vessels and droids from the Trade Federation, including B1 Battle Droids and Vulture Droids. This was never mentioned in a book but that means that it was possible, that during the Clone Wars, there were battles between Republic and separatist battle droids. ;) Edit: Did I mention the Republic Navy and Starfighter Corps? They weren't part of the GAR but they were heavily supported by clone troopers, especially in the lower ranks. However, most officers were citizens. In the Imperial period, the Starfighter Corps was incorporated into the Navy due to changed tactics which centered around capital ships, but that's only as a sidenote. Edit 2: Wow, that's long! Well, I like talking about Star Wars. ;)

Mhhh I did read the Comic about the Stark Hyperspace War, but I actually counted the forces from it out, or at least considered them heavily weakened due to the massive losses these new unofficial Republic Military had during the battle. What I gathered from watching the Clone Wars and reading related Comics gave the impression to me that especially the Senators were very happy with having Clones doing the fighting isntead of martialing Troops from their own Worlds. As for the Pirat Problems you mentioned, that was also one of many reasons why so many outer Rim worlds joint the CIS. And in regards of the Time after the battle of Naboo, I know that the source books mention that Naboo had a massive influx of volunteers for its Military after the Trade Federation left, and that the 'Naboo worked closely together with the Gungans to develop a planetary shield grid to protect the planet from further invasions. I actually liked the idea of the Naboo having a proper Army, but never got to see it.

Well... 1) no, grey jedis are an EU concept, not a main star wars storyline concept, and though I like this reinterpretation of the mythos, it's pretty clear there was not really a middle ground, there were jedis, users of the dark side, and non-users of the dark sides that weren't jedis (potentially), grey jedis weren't "what the force wanted", since what the force wanted was what George Lucas wanted, that is to say plain jedis, 2) in the original hexalogy, "balance" just meant... The force being at peace. And since siths were the one that disturbed it, alongside other dark side users, jedis (once purified of their flaws, and only using the light side of the force wasn't one) were the one that would've survived this whole ordeal once the force was finally brought back to balance, which is what Luke did in epVI when he became the last jedi, 3) in the original hexalogy, it was pretty clear that, though jedis were somewhat corrupted, they were right in their overall vision : the dark side was bad, the light side was good, period, it was never a question of having a good mix of them both. Now of course, the interpretation of grey, dark and light are neat, and I'm pretty sure it would be possible to be a grey jedi in the sense of using the force aggressively (like a sith) but to do good (like a jedi), but that's highly risky, disturbs the force, and is still not what the hexalogy was getting at.
