Even if they remember Anakin's tactics, most clones aren't in their right state of mind at the time, focusing solely on their order as mind controlled puppets with no regard to their own lives. They are less tactical and more just throwing themselves into the fight.
Kinda unrealistic considering Mace’s personality… he hated Skywalker from day one for what he was… not just who he was. Anakin could have been the most model Jedi to ever live…. But as the chosen one he embodies the failure of the order to eradicate the Sith… he’s a living reminder of their failure and as the master of the order…. Mace’s personal failure. He was never going to accept him
@@kamirostorino9416 it’s still out of character, I’m not sure that actually killing Palpatine decapitating him, and presenting his severed head to the council, would have convinced Mace that Anakin wasn’t untrustworthy
@@Matt-yg8ubThis is the same Mace that would of stabbed Palpatine no problem in canon to do "what needs to be done" at the office until his hand got sliced. Mace would be a hypocrite if he criticized Anakin and did the same thing he did to do what needs to be done to save the Jedi Temple, capturing Sideous alive was far out of the option at that point in time in their minds.
Darth Sidious made a tactical mistake joining the battle. He put himself at risk when he had no reason to and that’s why he lost. if he had stayed in his office and directed the battle, he would have eventually won because of the battle tested clones and their equipment he had the advantage, but his arrogance threw it all away,… tactically, he erred.
What if the Senate *refused* to accept Palpatine's proposal to create the Empire? How would Palpatine deal with a situation where the Republic government essentially refused to play ball?
Good question! Palpatine already sith mind tricked too many of the most influential senior senators Sidious’ super majority was all he needed, legally In this story, if the emperor had stayed away from the battle, the endless reinforcements could have won the war immediately
@@eidoneverchoosen1171 If he attempted that so early on the then a full civil war would have instantly kicked off. Also all those droid armies could rapidly be reactivated too.
I love that the way these what-if stories deviate from the normal timeline can vary in subtleness. It can be anywhere between Anakin making a perception check against Palpatine to the force suddenly deciding that someone is going to travel in time
An official 'What If' like series of Star Wars would be so amazing. All of these possibilities! The idea of live action Jedi Temple being held while the clones are trying desperately to assemble and break in to carry out their mission is indescribably awesome.
I'm pretty sure that in this scenario a good portion of clone deaths during the siege of the Jedi Temple would come from friendly fire, since the only chance jedis have of fighting them is to get as close as possible and destroy their battle formation, clones would be shooting anything that moves, with many other clones hit in the crossfire.

That was epic! You built up the premise well, focusing on the things that would keep Anakin in the light and then it grew from there. The call for reinforcements, the 1 for 10 attrition rates, to the arrival of the reinforcements, great use of tension to present it first as a seeming loss, then the revelation of a great gain to the Jedi gathering in the hall for the last stand. Thank you for writing, then telling this story. Which you do well. I still think back to the Order 66 story of the clones refusing, and after Anakin kills Appo and the way you read his dying words of big mistake, it really just stuck in my head. Anyway, great story here, good build up and just all in all entertaining and definitely going on my list of stories I'll want to listen to again. Thank you!!
Oh I just thought of a scenario that I don't think you have done and could be interesting. What if just a few steps away from marching into the Jedi Temple, Anakin won the mental conflict between himself and Darth Vader. Now he's gotta first try to fool the 501st, then try to defend the Temple without murdering a bunch of clones because he's like Ahsoka and he doesn't wanna kill any of them, and finally convince any remaining Jedi (or just Jedi if he could've stopped the clones from laying siege to the Temple) that he's trust worthy after betraying Mace Windu! And he's gotta accomplish all that before ol' Sheev notices something is wrong (no temple destruction and all) and ordering a orbital bombardment. Assuming he can get it all done (he's the Chose One), how would things wrap up. Because Order 66 would've still been executed, so the off world Jedi causality remains the same. How would Yoda, Obi Wan, and Padem react to all of this?
What if Jango Fett Survived the Battle of Geonosis and lived on well into the Imperial Era? Would be interesting to see what impact he would have on the Clone Wars, how the rivalry would play out between Him and Cad Bane, How would he continue to mentor his son Boba Fett, how'd he feel about the Clones being cast aside after the war, and would he cause problems for the Rebels/Empire in the Imperial Era?
The eight video of the campaign: I wonder what you could cook up with this idea - "What if Anakin died in the Battle of Coruscant ?". I was personally interested in seeing what would happen if Anakin crashed into a munitions crate or something, dying in the cockpit of his crashed fighter. How would that affect Obi-Wan and Sidious's plans ? Maybe Dooku could finally convince Obi-Wan to join him, or something else. Perhaps with Dooku arrested, the Jedi order would believe him and stop Palpatine, either killing him or arresting him. For the Jedi, the prophecy of the Chosen One would turn out to have been wrong, but in reality, Anakin not living to join Sidious would've probably been a better fate for the galaxy. Alternatively, Sidious could perhaps still salvage the situation, making his empire stronger. I think it could be another 2 part episode
Two major issues with this... The biggest... Shaak-to was killed during the invasion of Coruscant by General Grevious. Second... the Temple, if defended by the five Jedi Masters (if counting Anakin as such) would have had very little difficulty repelling the 501st. I can't imagine they'd really even be able to reach the gates. And then the vessels... were not piloted by clones, but rather human officers. And while many or even most were certainly loyal to Palpatine... I doubt they'd fire on the Jedi Temple. Especially if they knew Anakin was present, as he was considered a hero amongst them, clones, and the general population. Then again... if Anakin flew into rage fighting Palpatine... well... say hello to Darth Vader. He'd have turned just doing that.
@@kinorris1709 Not sure what you mean by "non-canon". It was in the movie's deleted scenes. According to the Lucas worshippers, that's as canon as is gets. But yeah... there's about a dozen different ways she is killed... that's what happens when Lucas screwed up and decided to stop using the Star Wars EU Continuity system.
The whole time I was like "Don't. Don't. Don't." Then all of a sudden "...one of them turned to fight with the clones...Clearly, he was on Palpatine's side." I was like "Fork! That's the Grand Inquisitor!"
The evacuation of the Jedi Temple in this video reminds me of the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force (B.E.F.) from Dunkirk in World War 2; A desperate race against time and potential annihilation.
An interesting fanfic. Personally would have loved it if Jar Jar was not blown up. Love that guy. Also loved how you put the Original Star Wars Battlefront game soundtrack (CLONE WATCH YOUR FIRE!) in the background. Day 28. What if; Anakin never gave into his feelings for Padme, Aayla Secura was the chosen one and became Darth Talon, Shme Skywalker was adopted by the Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett saved his Tusken family, Count Dooku was a regular count for the CIS, Jabba the Hutt supported the Jedi at the Start of the Clone Wars, and finally, what if Sabine and Ezra fell in love?
While yes they are more like siblings, there is always a chance for that to turn into some kind of other relationship, heck her obsession in the Ashoka show could be her having fallen for him.
Bit of a two-part what-if if that's OK 1. What if Fenn Rau freed and married Shmi and adopted Anakin? 2. What if the Naboo ship carrying Padmé, Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon were forced to land on Concord Dawn instead of Tattooine?
Good alternate tale of what might have, have happen if Anakin stayed loyal and defended the temple against the attacks of clones. Plus if Anakin and Windu took on Sidious together , then they would well be a match for the dark lord and defeat him. Enabling him to stop order 66 and ensure that the republic and jedi lived to fight another day.
I wrote an entire google doc from ahsoka/mando era all he way to the sequels. "What if the new republic did not demilitarize after Jakku?" I'll email it to you if you want to take a look at it for video ideas.
I was swept up in the moment the first time but later I started wondering about other folks you mentioned - its a very dramatized scene so I always mentally set it as an official narrative of some sort.

I'll repeat something I said in a previous video. I don't think Palpatine had any time to add Anakin to the Order 66 kill list. You *know* he wasn't on the kill list because he was able to lead them into the Temple in the movie. Also in the Clone Wars, when Tup malfunctioned, and he was being chained to the chair, he *saw* Anakin and had no reaction, but then when he saw the other Jedi, that's when he lunged out. It's also the same reason Ahsoka, despite not *being* a Jedi, was still targeted. Because she was still *on* the kill list.
They had orders to kill Ahsoka specifically, even though she wasn’t a Jedi. Anakin, on the other hand was a Sith. I don’t think there was a specific kill list, it was just kill all the Jedi and Ashoka.
@@Matt-yg8ub So explain why Tup didn't lunge at *Anakin* in that Clone Wars arc, but *did* at the other Jedi. I believe it's because the chips *have* a list in their heads, and Anakin specifically wasn't on it because Palpatine had plans for him.
@@Matt-yg8ub Indeed. It's programmed in. And I don't think you can just de-program it at the 11th hour because he didn't join Palpatine. Maybe it's not a kill list. But *something* in there *exempts* Anakin from Order 66.
@@tonystank3091 since order 66 specified Jedi… it would make sense that Anakin wasn’t classified as a Jedi. That would also explain why Rex received special orders to kill Ashoka… who also wasn’t a Jedi.
Here's a 'Original Trilogy' what if for you; what if Luke had convinced Owen to let him go to the Imperial Academy, with or without Biggs. Point is, how long before Vader and/or Palpatine learns of the name of this recruit...

Palpatine be like you and what army? Anakin - This army, aka the entire jedi order in the temple or the thousands of powerful people who where taught in ancient teachings.
Having Mace Windu and Anakin Skywalker strike Palpatine down at the same time is amazing. It's sad that Jar Jar Binks and Kit Fisto died 😢. I'm glad Yoda and Obi-Wan are alive in this story. And the ships coming to rescue the Jedi order is more than I could ever hope for while Anakin Skywalker defended the temple, gaining so many young Jedi and their Masters time to escape 😀.
Powerful card to use , the mother card . If I was Anikin, I'd have gone dark immediately. The temple battle in memoriam of Thermopylae to buy time , also worthy . Sacrifice is the key to immortality.
