I have degenerative disc disorder, which has necessitated two fusion surgeries on my neck (in 2004 and 2022). After the last, I found that I seemed to have no strength in my singing voice - important, as I sing in church. There also seemed to be an increase in mucus production, though I may be imagining that. I'm not sure if it's a real issue, or if I may just be a bit "ginger" in singing out now, but I do seem to get a bit hoarse easily after I do sing. Do you know of a connection between fusion surgery in the neck, and ongoing vocal cord issues? Thanks.
