What If... Chex Quest on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance

Chex Quest is an incredibly fun piece of media. It's really cool that Charles Jacobi even worked on a Chex Quest 2, later, adding in a whole second episode. Or even cooler, Chex Quest 3, a ZDoom-exclusive release, that contained all of the original two episodes and a whole new one, expanded significantly due to not running on the limitations of the DOS versions. Although I do recommend Chex Quest 3: Vanilla Edition by Melodic Spaceship more, it brings back all that was included in the original CQ3, and quite a bit more, bringing it back to vanilla limits, so it can run even on DOS and any source port that runs plain Ultimate Doom, and even being available on the KEX Doom mod browser. It's a really fun game to be quite honest.

Love when Chex Quest gets attention.

At least here is where green "Blood" would make sense, unlike Doom for GBA.

Can you imagine if Chex had actually made a GBA version around the time of Doom 1/2 on GBA, made cartridges, and had them be a mail-in kinda thing?

The framerate in the large E1M2 crate area is a lot better than I expected. I think it runs better here than PRBoom+'s software renderer does on an old 3DS.

Should you play Chex Quest? Absolutely! Should you play it on the GBA? Probably not. My recommendation? Get a hold of Chex Quest 3 and a version of ZDoom that you don't hate. Do a bit of fiddling to make all of the melee enemies fully fast monster functional. Play on UV-Fast or Nightmare. Enjoy your first encounter with the absolute horror that is Fast Stridicus.

Better then the Doom port

i was playing this last night (the proper doom version) and i think people have severely overevaluated the quality of this game compared to any of the average on up releases from that era. it is well made but it is a pretty dull experience and there is basically no tension at all. also i don't get the excuse 'its easy because it was made for kids' meanwhile most of us had already cut our teeth on NES and SNES games. it's popular because it's an interesting novelty and relatively well made

What about doom 64 on gba? Someone shoupd do that
