I think the Author missed something here, just to make it where deku is still treated like crap, and they didn't need to. Dare Devil loses his sight as a kid and gain his powers then. He simply could have made Izuku a late bloomer to get the nickname and become a target, only for him to lose his sight and gain his quick in an accident, and while some might back off the abuse others wouldn't. I point this out, because Dare Devil is a skilled fighter and it took him years to get to that level. It would be much easier to explain this if, he has the accident happen to a younger Izuku, and still have him work with some form of teacher, an MHA version of Stick if you will. A Younger somewhat less jaded version of Stain might be a good choice. Sorry for the rant. My point is that I think the Author shot themselves in the foot so to speak, but starting his story where cannon started.
