More like French West Africa and French Equatorial Africa. Austria-Hugary was far less of a mess than Central Asia and it wouldn't even compare to Africa and the Middle East
I added the area in square miles of every stan country, and then, I looked on a website showing the ranks for how large every country is. After receiving my total sum for stanistan, I can conclude that, if stanistan we're to become a country one day, it would be the seventh largest country in the world.
i LOVE using the term "friend" in this context. like, "Iran wouldnt sacrifice ... to become Stanistans friend." i think its such a cute and funny concept
So now we will have 2 USA 1. THE RESPECTED, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 🇺🇸🇺🇲 2. UNITED STANS OF ASIA.. (NO FLAG) THINK OF USA GOING ON TO WAR WITH USA.....
Fun fact: -istan is a Persian suffix meaning "land". Persian used to be the lingua franca in many areas between Iran and Bangladesh. Persian is an official language in Afghanistan and Tajikistan besides Iran, and many Iranian provinces have as -istan suffix in their names. In modern Persian, many European countries have Persian names ending in -istan as well, for example we Iranians say Englistan instead of England, Magyaristan (land of Magyars) instead of Hungry, Serbistan (Serbia), and so on.
also a lot of former Iranian provinces still call themselves the -stan ending name the Persians called us - a linguistic remnant of the past. I'm Armenian and in the Armenian language, Armenia is "Hyastan"
In Pakistan even words like the desert (registan), oasis (nakhlustan) and graveyard (qabrustan) have stans (land) in them. India's name Hindustan is 100% Persian name then. They called Sindhu (the Indus river) Hindu and then added stan to it.
Coming back to this video after 1 year, I am more informed of global politics and ethnicities. I now think there are a lot of mistakes in this analysis, although, with good effort and no ill intention from the creator. The Pashtun problem won't be a problem at all after unification, since it is mostly driven because of US involvement and the division of pakhtuns due to the Darrund Line. That line will exist no more and since Pakistan is now with Stanistan, it is a nuclear power and US will have no choice but to leave the region. Stanistan would immediately be offered alliances with Russia or China due to the fact that US troops are on the ground and Stanistan would obviously want them to leave. China already has the CPEC initiative with Pakistan and other close nations for the Belt and Road route. So China will not be an enemy at all. Russia has huge stakes on the CPEC project as well and already supplies a vast majority of it's Natural Gas and Oil to it's neighbors already so choosing to be enemies is Stanistan will not be beneficial to them. On the other hand, Russia will be incentivized to be allied with Stanistan in fear of USA attempts to welcome it into NATO, having a huge impact on the geo-political strategy. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone by containing Russia and China in 1 swift move. Russia nd China will not accept this at all and Stanistan's rulers will have to make the decision to either Join NATO, Join Russia and China as allies or make it's own league with the Arab states, 2 examples we have are OIC and Arab League. Choosing the latter will give the new nation massive power in the world and secure it's World Power - or Super Power status instantly. India will 100% be an adversary but will be careful in it's approach as they too want to connect with central Asia and don't want to anger China since Stanistan and China will no doubt be allies. A 2 front force for India is a real threat and the last thing they need is 2 nuclear super powers aiming their guns at them. Coming to the point of the Shia and Sunni muslims in the region and the tussle with Iran. Pakistan today has absolutely no problem with both sects and both of them are living in harmony in the country. Iran's agenda and the Saudi Arabia's agenda have been foiled many times by Pakistani citizens. And with Saudi Arabia's dependence on Pakistan's military for it's defense and Iran's dependence on Pakistan for imports and secure borders, and the already established alliance of both countries, the possibility is there for complicated relations, but probably Iran and Stanistan will be allies. Overall, this nation will not be as unstable as you might think, since with good fortune, all states are in 1 border, unlike the Pakistan in 1947, which had West Pakistan and East Pakistan, resulting in difficulty in governance. And which huge natural resources, I doubt any of the neighboring countries will want bad relations. So this is my analysis.
Considering that US is now out of Afghanistan Russia will definitely not like its former Soviet Comrades forming another coalition as Soviet Reunion is the Russian Wetdream.
@Surah Kittington pakistan is literally one of the least racist countries in the world, search it up, while india is the most racist country in the entire world. soruce: washington post
In Persian, apart from the 11 countries you mentioned ( 7 Stanistan + Mogholestan, Hindustan, Lahestan, Engelestan) the following countries also have similar names: Serbestan (Serbia) Majarestan (Hungary) Arabestan (Saudi Arabia) Armanestan (Armenia) Gorjestan (Georgia) Bulgarestan (Bulgaria) Also, there is some territory or province in other countries which ended with "stan" in Persian. As you say the word "stan" in Persian is equivalent to the prefix "land" so there are no restrictions on use.
Didn’t stop US, India, Iran and Afghanistan from violating your sovereignty. The whole world knows Pakistan’s nuclear threat is a bluff. If you actually used a nuclear bomb in response to a conventional weapon, Pakistan would cease to exist. And the Pakistan military knows that too.
@@sauronstillgood6804 both actually generated from the same Indo-European word. Stan in Persian means the place a specific kind of people is. for example Tajikistan = where the Tajiks are or you can say where the Tajiks stand standing in Persian is Istadan
honestly i expected you to make a hint about how the USSR wanted to collect all of the "Stans" but encountered major civilian and Islamic resistance when they got to Afghanistan, so they never ended up reaching Pakistan
A nuclear capable country, that has a bunch of countries that fucking hate each other bunched together? The amount of terrorist attacks and in fighting would be scary.
@Venky Wank that is a really intresting point. RLL did say that stanistan would need a strong leader, and i think india had that, so maybe it might work
In Turkish there are many more -stans: Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Georgia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Mongolia, India, Eritrea ( i think), and maybe a few more.
O'zbekiston has already started the construction of a railway through Afg'oniston to connect O'zbekiston with the ports of Pokiston. Thanks to the new project, goods from O'zbekiston will be able to get to the world ocean faster and cheaper.
Indians and Pakistanis argue with each other so much but will become the bestest friends in the world when they hear the word "British" and I love that
RRL: What if every country ending in "stan" united? Me: *You would have a nation state that somehow makes Austria-Hungary in 1918 look stable in comparison*
Austria-Hungary was more or less stable in the first half of 1918 though. Shit hit the fan only after the failure at the Piave and the Entente breakthrough in Macedonia.
Most of the problems you mentioned could easily be solved. For example, the US could just leave Afghanistan; Pakistan being the only nuclear power within Stanistan could be mitigated by distributing nuclear weapons to the others; and all the border disputes would be null and void once the (now internal) border vanishes. You've created a true paradise.
I like how I was always thinking about the countries that have Stan like Uzbekistan Pakistan Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan Aphganistan, like all I was thinking was Stan yet I was wondering if every country's with Stan United and it happened.. LIKE 1 YEAR AGO
@@cheeseburgerjackson624 I've heard from somewhere that the Talibani terrorists just disguised as civilians and then joined the Afghanistan Army and got proper training and the surrendered to the rest of the Talibani terrorists. This was all planned. Is it true?
*tea’s gone cold im wondering why i got out of bed at all. The morning rain clouds up my window and i can’t see at all. Even if i could it’ll all be grey but the picture on wall, it reminds me that it’s not so bad, not so bad*
Only if you unite people who don't want to unite, but against a threat that makes people overlook their differences it works fine as long as things don't get unequal, literally how every nation/empire formed from tribes, groups of people.
Now lets make a country naming "Landaland" which includes England, Poland, Netherland, Finland, Scotland, GreenLand, IceLand, Switzerland Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Thailand, New Zealand, Somaliland, and Puntland...
There would be a huge communication gap between people from different cities as the cultures and languages of Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan are very similar to the cultures and languages of India. The rest of the -Stans will have difficulty in communicating with Pakistan and each other. Some of the other -Stan peoples will move into the cities of Pakistan because of its economy and will have to learn the Indo-Pak languages.
If you included several of the Russian republics and provinces in Iran and Turkey, it would be uncomprehendably vast. But alas, those aren't really countries. Good video!
This is interesting because I worked on a film production years ago which was under the name Stanistan but it never got picked up due to lack of funding. I wonder if that movie will ever come out?
Stanistan would be populated by stans. Their anthem would be “Stan” by Eminem feat. Dido. The most dominant buildings would be apartments/housing (check Serbian translation of stan). Their police will not have bullets in their firearms, they just set it to stun. Stannis might be their leader but when you hear the Megalovania theme, that means their overlord Stans is coming.
spandexter 123 Imagine if an Olympic athlete won gold from there and by rule the gold medalist’s nation’s anthem has to be played. That would be one interesting medal ceremony.
Whisperer Bordah not an expert in any sense, but I thought US funded rebel organizations to overthrow governments which later became terrorist groups? So then they weren’t terrorist organizations at the time but went on to be designated as such?
what if every country on earth united? I mean, USA, China, Russia, and all other countries, becoming one united federation, Earth Federation. there will be no comparissons, but I'd like to know the stats, GDP, GDP per Capita, Millitary power, religious percentages, Ethnic percentages etc....
I remember reading an idea to unite the southern African countries together, calling them the United States of Africa. Wow, we can have 3 USA's in the future! Not confusing at all.
"After unification,it would become immediately apparent that Stanistan would be an _abomination that _*_never should have been born._* " that went from zero to 100 really quick
