Another tragedy regarding Frost becoming just another Freeza is that Frost being both a deceitful trickster AND a noble hero isn't as diametrically opposed as some might think. The rationale? _"When you have something or someone worth protecting, the concept of an honest and fair fight becomes more trouble than its worth. If YOU won't resort to an underhanded tactic to save a life, evil will use an underhanded tactic to END that life first."_ BOOM. Frost becomes morally justified for cheating in his fight while maintaining his morality.
Trickster heroes all across folklore, mythology, and storytelling in general are founded on the idea. Guile is a tool and a skill, and like any tool and skill, its morality is determined by the wielder.
This felt wholesome and very well nuanced. The fact that Frost struggled with much of his inner demons and actually had the courage to face consequences up until the very end was indeed the biggest source of warmth and redemption here. Well done good sir, please do not stop!
@@MasakoX i hawe idea for the what if babidi turned good the idea is abaut the tornoment of power babidi gud be in the youniverse 7 team he can heal the other team members and he can make clones of himself that the other fiters dont know witch 1 is the real babidi and you have sed in the what if babidi turned good videos that babidi can turn invicible that wud also be 1 stragedy how he gud stey in the ring
I can imagine Final push against Jiren in tournament be like - when Goku fight along side with Frost, Frieza make the same expression as Vegeta see Goku fight with Frieza. -Beerus and Champa would yell their respective member name while both universe shout "DO IT"
Glad to see the Frost Demon face his inner... demons! *Some* aspects of his initial change - given how much distaste Frost had for the proper heroes - was a little jarring, but every part of this felt better nuanced than average. Aside from potentially planting the poison needles earlier, since they wouldn't have had the same establishment in the Universe tournament, everything up to his return would work quite well in story! Frost's transformation was great, this softer/wise take on Hit quite interesting. and the jokes just as witty! Still, considering how Frost would appear after meeting 17, it'd be worth reworking that too. Perhaps if Frost kept his role, he was knocked off in the push against Jiren, and Goku did the final blow alone.
Definitely a good story! I had hoped for more Frieza vs Frost interaction given how much Frost was compared to Frieza and how much he resented that. Generally it was really cool! ^^
@@modelomegatylerI get the feeling that he wasn't any different in the manga. If he was. I haven't had an opportunity to actually and actively read the manga. Believe me, I'd love to
@@modelomegatyler "Remake arcs"? What the HFIL? Like... The Black Arc and the T.O.P.? Cause those were so different between the manga and the anime. We got Super Saiyan God Vegeta and Gohan fought Kefla in the manga. But, the Black Arc has one thing that was pretty sick; seeing Goku actually fly off the handle again. "You're gonna regret telling me that, Zamasu. Now I'm mad. I'm really, reALLY mad! And now, IT'S TIME... TO PAYYYYYYY!" Honestly, when was the last time we got to see him go off. And I'm only defending it because Sean puts everything into voicing Goku. And it was visually beautiful
This What If to this day has to be my favorite of all. I have always wanted Frost to become a well written character and you sir have done that! DBS could never!
You just have the most absorbing storytelling, it really let's the movie play out in the listeners mind, just like reading a book does. It truly is a beautiful gift & talent you have, thank you.
Frost actually still has great potential to turn good, and truly redeem himself. Universe 6& 7 are exact mirrors of each other. Vegeta was originally a foil to Frieza, and they both mirrored each others actions through the Namek arc. We can assume the same is true for Frost and Cabba. Both worked together, for a believed noble cause. Cabba is the Vegeta of U6. Cabba is noble, kind, and has a good heart. If both universes are exact mirrors of each other, then Frost can absolutely still qualify for redemption. He's not evil, or cruelly ruthless as Frieza. His motivations are also a bit different. He mostly wants money and fame. He can redeem himself also, by getting back at Frieza, by becoming the one thing Frieza hated next to a saiyan- a true, goodhearted hero. I hope we see more of U6, and Frost.
The case could be made for either Vegeta and/or Goku. Vegeta could tell why Frost wanted to stay in universe 7 and had every reason to help Frost after he stalled for time in trunks timeline, and put his neck on the line to help Trunks get his timeline back. On the other hand, we know that Goku was able to get in touch with hit to place a bounty on his own head, and we know that Goku wants the best for his students. So it would be possible that Goku was able to bribe hit into holding back against frost, so he could survive while having his abilities tested. Bear in mind that neither of these possibilities exclude the other.
I've always felt like this was a really strange What If. You opened up saying how him being a good guy would've been way more interesting, only to...keep him a bad guy, and then TURN good? Itk inda defeats the point to me. "What if Frost WAS good?" would have been closer to what you were saying at the beginning, and I think it would've been a lot more interesting and unique.
Could you do a what if Yagirobi wasn't a coward? I know that you would go back to the Dragonball series King Piccolo Arc but that dude has skill Toriyama sideline him like Yamcha!
Lovin' the compilations... your well on your way 750,000,Earliest possible is February of 2023 according to the math I did with socialblade, projected subscribers per month averaged over the past 3 years.
Ironic how people don't realize frost was actually good, he very VERY clearly stated that his final form makes himself uncontrolled, why do you think he went to his 3rd form? It's because the 4th is evil in nature as frost demons are. He was likely retconned to actually be evil but originally he was VERY clearly a good guy Unlike Freiza he created suppressions to suppress power and evil, not only does it make the most sense it was also stated (Indirectly but HEAVILY implied, far too implied to forget that it was implied unless you're an idiot like 99% of the population apparently is) Think of launch but not silly. Unless that was the dub or something,
Hmm masakoxdidnt you say while you didn't do or wouldn't plan do a female vegetai felt that it was a missed opportunity not to do a female vegetaeither cabbage isn't born keep in place if cabbage that a female saying that looks like vegetables or cabbage being female even in cannon I thought that it was. Missed opportunity not to have a female vegeta I mean we did literally get cauliflower and kale who are literally the female version of gokuandbrokybut not Vegwta
