What If Giovanni Sponsored Ash? Season 2 Part 1 Ft.  

Seeing Meowth finally turncoat and call Ash “Boss” really warmed my heart. This my favorite version of Meowth by FAR.

Welcome to season 2!!!!! Things will never be the same!!!!!!

You two are some of the best writers I've ever seen, Giovanni is already a good villain, cold, cruel, manipulative, greedy, and with a great obsession with obtaining power and influence over the regions and now giving him a backstory makes him an even better antagonist since we go deeper into his character, bravo you two bravo 👏

The Giovanni backstory was nice.

This episode was fantastic! I can't wait to find out why Ash would risk himself for Mewtwo like that!

First, looks like this Ash's aura powers are coming out early. Second, it's good to see Meowth finally made his decision on where his alegence lay, and I personally can't wait for his fight against Jessie, James, and Mao (Alolan Meowth). Lastly, I personally can't wait for Ash's fate after all this; would take up on a new sponsor, or would continue his journey without one? Fantastic job you two, keep it up 👍

Honestly I like the serious tone in this one then the original Pokémon, since to me the original always felt very kid-ISH even though the writing in the series is pretty mature.😺

This is by far the best episode in the series so far. The flashbacks. The battle with Mewtwo. The cliffhanger ending. But honestly what tops it for me Meowth's redemption. It was perfectly done imo. Almost made me cry lol. Really great job, guys! Most teams of writers for primetime shows can't continue the story into the next season this seamlessly as TWO PEOPLE can. As a powerscaler, I can't help but notice that Krookodile (by himself and without Moxie boost if my memory is correct, even with a type advantage/immunity this is impressive) really did significantly better than the best trainers in all of Kanto (including the champion himself) all jumping him at once. Makes sense tho as Mewtwo wasn't mental amped against Krookodile. (Sorry for the unrelated tangent, just couldn't resist. Again, great job guys! 👍)

You guys actually painted Giovanni in a bit of a tragic light. Wow. Also, man those poor Pokémon. I can see why in an irl situation Red would be so hostile towards Team Rocket. These evil teams man. I’d be hostile towards em also.

Holy heck, that's some clever storytelling. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with next. Your combined work is definitely better than the sum of its parts. I hope to see more collabs like this in the future, honestly. I love the backstory here. Giovanni always knew that his life could have been so much better if he just had a pokemon partner early... and now we see the truth there. Given the opportunity, his successor managed to make even mewtwo his partner. Vito made his son more like himself than anyone realized... and everyone suffered the consequences. Thankfully, the Giovanni who raised ash was the boy who saved a nidoran, not the man who stole food with a persian... his two faces don't seem to agree with each other.

Amazing work guys, love this story and the direction its going. Also all the little Godfather references are a subtle detail but proof that you both languish a lot of love on this story :)

So why did ash have that connection with mewtwo? That was interesting. I could never have seen this coming. What a great start to season 2. I feel ash and the others will start a new path. Since they destroyed the pokedex, does that mean that they are no longer sponsored? I like the dark theme.

I really liked the origin for Giovanni, it not only gave him more character but justified his ruthlessness that he's known for. Though I doubt this wouldve ever made it into the anime, if it did it probably wouldve gotten the 4kids treatment sadly enough.

Have to admit, I was not expecting Surge to have a backstory like that, but damn if it isn't what you normally hear from war stories. Also, is Prof Oak actually a Doctor? And with Mew in tow, that is just shenanigans are meant to be.

I love it, Ash has his aura awakening early and Professor Oak reveals his friend Mew (I mean it's a theory why Mew is around his lab so much that he is one of Oak's old partner Pokemon, but I haven't heard a what if with that theory in it yet). OK a few things 1st I liked the slower pace of this part 2nd I'm not surprised by Giovanni actions 3rd Giving Ash Kingdra interesting 4th When will the egg hatch? 5th I'm so excited for Honen 6th Based on the last screen shot of May & Max are in Team Aqua & Team Magma respectfully with May in Aqua & Max in Magma With my 7th and final point being since May & Max are in Aqua & Magma what happened to Norman and Caroline? PS LOVE the symbolism of Ash under Giovanni with Mewtwo strangely on the LEFT side. Hopefully Ash tells both Mewtwo and Anabell to flee

Or... is it the one in the shadows? *Sp/This series making me question so much so early that's it no more questions for a bit more time and let's see if they actually get answered. THAT GAL?! That's a RENDER! Shiny? No that's not the shiny color. Maybe it's just an accident here. Although I never like to think like that / This is a harsh arc. This is not even the end of the first EPISODE! I kind of like the fact that in this story me out becomes one of the good guys instead of staying with team rocket wrong I like the rocket trail but they could do so much better if they weren't members of team rocket or at least that's what I think also I wish they kept the scars on meowth's body the one over his eye and the three slash marks on his chest I think it makes him look pretty cool and a badass for standing up to Giovanni's Persian.

Since AJ has committed Pokemon abuse, there is a possibility that he can be sent to Juvienile Detention Center, like Giovanni. I want to see in What If Giovanni Sponsored Ash Season 3 to feature AJ being in Juvie, like Giovanni, and won't be released in Juvie until What If Giovanni Sponsored Ash Season 4 or What If Cyrus Sponsored Dawn.
