I think the two results match Chis's and your ideas in the begging -- Chris said doo-whop (acapella) you said Temptations (with music) -- for me -- I like the one with music.
They are both amazing, but I enjoyed the addition of the orchestration, the horns gave it that big band, 50's/60's style. My vote is for the orchestrated version.
I can see why Chris liked the first one better since it was so raw, uncut, and true to the genre because your voices were the main instruments but I just felt the second one was so much more deeper, richer, and fulfilling. Also when you play the clips of the temptations the second one sounds almost identical
They were both great, the production on the second version has me leaning more that way but I could've done without the harp. I actually like this song now lol
I think the acapella is a more generally do-wap/ barbershop quartet vibe, but the orchestrated is more specific to The Temptations. I like the second more ❤️
Both versions are great. Though the instrumental one started a bit abruptly. Harp could have been a tad more subtle. The vocals should have been a bit stronger with the music vs acapella.
I think I'd prefer a mix :D The refrain at the beginning and the end seem identical. I think the song could benefit from a development over time with starting as Acapella and then going full orchestral near the end, maybe with the trombone even louder in the mix.
I think the acapella one was the did it all in one day achievement. The tweaked version is a better embodiment of The Temptations sound. I like both versions, and I love that there are two videos! 💗💗💗
When I heard the first version, I thought for sure I was going to pick it. Then I heard the complete instrumental version and I must admit, it's got the X factor. Temptations for sure. Loved them both, though!
So fun, I’m always 😁when y’all collab! I always love hearing a favorite tenor Chris Rupp sing accapella better. Getting to hear Chris with his siblings Adam and Tristen was my favorite concert I have ever heard! 🤯 I’m still 🤗. Anytime, I see Chris and a 🐓 in a video I start laughing, (old school Home Free fans know why!) 🤭😂
Ha! “Choices can be made…” how do you really feel sir:-) Great job on the 24 hour challenge. Sometimes pressure/restrictions like that can result in great work, like this! As for my vote: I’m a sucker of a-capella, and have an unhealthy obsession with Pentatonix. That said: the brass and drums really did help fill the sound, and who doesn’t love a harp run:-) So, I like both, but if I have to choose: keep the instrumental.
I really enjoyed both, but I feel like the instrumental version added more depth and did sound more like the Temptations. That being said, both versions are great! Plus that fact the first was done in 24 hours is amazing!
Hey Ali! Absolutely everything you do is FABULOUS! (everything that I see anyway). Like most, I love both versions of this, but the one with instrumentation is fuller; more depth. The first one of course, deepens the MASTERFUL harmonies! You and Chris are great together - he needs to move to LA! Love Your Life, Ali - thanx
They both are great - in different ways. I do like the simplicity of the first, but like how complete the 2nd is. The harp is a bit much, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you Ali. Thanks as always for the great music!
I almost thought you were doing Heat Wave by Bing Crosby (especially the version from White Christmas) and I was pleasantly surprised, but then I recognized the song you were actually doing.... hey you all did an amazing job on it anyways!
I loved both. Another great job, another awesome video. I say again please put an album together of all the songs that you have done. I would absolutely buy it.
I’m gonna be completely honest and say that I really like the a cappella version. I don’t know why because I usually like versions with a lot of instruments but it was something about a cappella that did it for me.
You said the first one was more Pentatonix than Temptations and i agree. If you're really looking to harness Temptations, that's the second one with the trombones for sure - and yes, you absolutely needed that harp! 😉 lol it was a nice touch.
I think the second is better. The Trombone sound gives it color. The first harp part does ruin the mood a bit but the second harp part is ok. Just my opinion though. Great work Ali😘😘😘😘😘😘
i think the second one is definitely more true to the band you were trying to replicate! both super great, but having the additional instruments gives it more of a jazzy feel and its perfect
To be honest the acapella version sounds cleaner I enjoy that a lot, the instrument version howeber totally had that big band sound. This is not only a hard choice because you enjoy both versions but in different ways for different musical reasons, but it is nearly impossible to choose!🤯😎
The second version with the instrumentation has a more Temptations feel to it. Agree that the first a cappella version sounds great, but definitely more Pentatonix than Temptaions to me
That 100% needed 17 trombones... no doubt. The first harp glissando... probably a bit too much... maybe just a little to high in the mix, the second quieter one was nice though... and the harp plucks coming out of the middle 8... *chef's kiss*.
Love both versions. You are all so talented. Orchestrated version is my favorite. Love the instruments and the vocals. Sort of like peanut butter & chocolate. They go so much better together. 🤓😎
Orchestrated version is more full, the first harp run is a little loud but overall I prefer that version!! Gives more of what you were going for, instead of a cover.
I am a sucker for a'capella, but I have to say, the orchestral version does have more of the 'Temptations' vibe. Plus, don't remember the last time I saw Chris go pink 😂
I think they are both brilliant for different reasons… personally prefer the fuller sound of the one with the instruments… btw. Major crush going on here 😍
