Eh, it never belonged to India in the first place. Sure the culture is similar and all. But they were never united, so there was no "India". The subcontinent was full of small nations which were sometimes united through INVASIONS by empires. I am curious, what exactly do you think India is? (Since u said ORIGINAL TERRITORY)
Civilisational states are different than nation States, so yes all those similar cultures belong to India, Our civilisation. Also there have been empires who have conquered the continuum of subcontinent. So nothing new. You should read the dialogue of chanakya with leaders of mahajanpadas.
