There’s 4 types of viewers on this channel 1. The American patriot (MURICA HELL YEAH) 2. The German nationalist (those borders look so good) 3. The French nationalist (mostly Napoleon fanboys) 4. The Roman irredentist (aka Italian or Greek nationalists) And somehow I’m all 4 as I love this channel
I'm from Rome and thought i'm proud of our ancient history, i'm ashamed of our modern state. I mainly blame the anglo-french influence in the Risorgimento.
I think he’d stick with the triple alliance with Germany . Easier to convince the Spanish since their part of the empire would directly revive land, rather than only Italy getting stuff by invading Austria. It also gives them the chance to carve France and get a huge piece of it.
selling cuba is essentially throwing one of spain's most industrialized and economically strong territories and ensuring the lack of popular support for Juan Prim's government, ending in another civil war or an assasination attempt of amadeo. What amadeo would've done however, is to follow the autonomy whim present in puerto rico and cuba, which was initially brought as an idea around 1873, cuba and puerto rico would just be made autonomous regions before they were irl (1897)
The Italo-Spanish union would stay on the side of the Central Powers since attacking both from the Pyrenees and the Alps would further divide the French forces in Alsace-Norraine
A Authoritarian Counter-revolution spreads through the Mediterranean, lead by a strong influence of the Italian State. It is a fascinating concept, and I would very much like to see part two of this; to see where Italy’s ambitions leads to. Personally, I am more enamored with the concept of Italian Irredentism than the concept of “Modern day Roman Empire.” I dream the dream of Italian Adriatic Sea… (and Italian Tunisia). That’s why I love Possible History’s “Collapse of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire” video so much.
@@rittyrizzani5705 From the Fall of Rome it splintered and came under control or at least influence of foreigners and invaders and hence from that was kept weak and vulnerable.
I am Italian, and i find entertaining a scenario where Italy become a superpower. However I don't think the UK would have left the Mediterranean Sea in Italian hand, controlling the strait of gibraltar and the strait between Sicily and Tunisia.
These is a likely territorial promises he would have that Italy and Spain could receive: Triple alliance: Savoy, Nice, (Istria, dalmatia, trentino, egypt ), (Morocco), Algeria, southern France, and Greece, French Equatorial Africa, Djibouti, montenegro, French Indochina, borneo, (malacca), (formosa) Triple Entente: Istria,dalmatia,trentino-alto adige, anatolia, (israel, syria), German Cameroon, kenya for German East Africa, part of German New Guinea, yemen, (formosa) (In case holland had entered the war: partition Dutch East Indies). In my opinion he would have joined the Triple Alliance because he had more territorial promises and from what I understood what Emanuel Philibert was like and his character was to have territories for the reformation of the Roman Empire and he didn't care so much about alliances. It would be nice to see a part 2
Whilst staying with the Central Powers would've been the safer route, and probably what the king would want to do, the Italians living in Istria and dalmatia would see the betrayal of the Italo-Spanish monarchy, and never forgive them for leaving them under Austro-Hungarian rule.
There was no way spain was gonna be selling Cuba it was the largest island in the Caribbean and was what was left of their rule in America and wasn't a colony in a traditional sense as it was considered part of spain proper
I suspect that the Latin Kingdom (Italy-Spain) would still join the Allied Powers to reclaim Italian lands still held by Austria-Hungary and to further expand influence in the Balkans for the potential reclaiming of lands controlled by Rome.
Honestly if the goal is to further unify both Italy and Spain, sticking the the central powers may make the most sense, with Spanish desires for Morocco (and territory from portugal depending on what alliance they choose to honor) and Italian goals on Corsica & Nice they would both benefit from being on the side of Germany. It may also help Crete gain land from Greece if they are still in the Entente. If they join the Entente it would only favor italy and possibly Crete if they get territory from the Ottomans. + no mater how much Austria-Hungary is fun to look back on, they are not long for this world in their current state and will be a easy target later on for a resurgent "roman empire".
302 views 10 minutes ago what happened, also you could tie this in with your what if Italy united earlyer video, also make a video where England is split in half by William and Harald hadrada while goodwinson hides in Lincolnshire or some other area in england.
I see them sticking with the triple alliance so they can carve up france and achieve more colonies in north africa, leading to a reformation of rome to be easier
@@rostdreadnorramus4936 So do I but I don't want Videntis to do it. His Byzantine videos literally had Greece committing Genocide, Ethnic cleansing and deportation which doesn't make any sense when Greece held zero thought of doing that. He also said the Coptics would murder the Muslims in Egypt which doesn't work because they're a minority and would be genocided by the Muslims in Egypt, also the Muslim world would become very radicalized in that timeline. It's disgusting he even thought of that and had the balls to say in Part 3 "I don't condone any politics or acts in this video" then why include it of you don't condone it???
I don't think that Crete will remain independent for long. In real life the Cretans wanted enosis and the Greek king was the one who was opposed to the Idea since he was cautious about the stance of the great powers even in this timeline i don't think that the Cretans will vote to remain independent since all of their previous revolts were to join Greece.
Your diction is really bad. You are prounouncing words to fast at the end of your sentences I can hardly understand what you say in some instances. The content is good so its a shame if you neglect your narration and speech skills.
