Lil Nas X got a lot of controversial reactions to Montero (Call Me By Your Name). So we did a clean cover mashup as a Gospel song. With some musical theater, Broadway remix thrown in there. The underworld was too shocking? Ok, we'll take Lil Nas X to church. And stay tuned because something crazy happens when I'm in heaven.

Here is an outrageous idea. In the oscar winning movie "Another Round" they play with the idea that a 0.5 per mille alcohol level is the sweet spot. How would a outrageous party look like if everybody tries to stay at 0.5 per mille alcohol all night. How is training at 0.5 per mille alcohol? How is painting at 0.5 per mille alcohol? I freakin loved the original and this was just super neat. Me and my girlfriend we just recently got engaged and a lot of people don’t even realize how much we still struggle today, even with acceptance from family members. So this is more "southern gospel" than gospel. I definitely see how this could have a church feel in some circles but maybe not in the kinds of churches that Montero might have actually gone to growing up. I think that's where the piece falters a bit for me because the "gospel" that's used as reference is primarily from musical theater designed primarily for an audience that has a related but ultimately different lived experience than the one that created inspiration piece.
