London would have to almost solely rely on imports from other nations and if you're going to be that much of a dick to the UK when you've already written off the EU, you're going to be spending a lot on food and other supplies.

The British government for years now has neglected the rest of the UK putting alot of its fund into London, its not a north south divide its a divide between the london area and the entire rest of England as places like Cornwall and Devon in the south are very much neglected the same as the North

London isn't an independent country. And do you not remember Boris? Our tory mayor of 8 years. Plus devolution was a thing long before Blair. The GLC was lead by Tories 3 out of 6 times before it was dissolved, so I don't know where you got this idea that London only votes Labour?

@@Gfynbcyiokbg8710 Not sure when you consider all money for everything in the UK:- Insurance policies, mortgages, Income Tax, VAT, Fuel Tax, National Insurance, Corporation Tax, Bank Savings, Interest on Loan Repayments, TV licences, Pension funds etc basically most finance goes to London, some of it is sent back to regions, but most just swirls around in the London eco system.
Telling you the answer to that will just give you more questions. That little bit in the middle is the “City of London” and the rest is called London. They are separate with own taxes, police forces and administrative organisations. If you’re thinking BS, that’s fine because most people in Britain don’t know or understand the difference and the reasons why are old and dumb.
When you say “what if London was an independent country?“ Do you mean in the past, because “was“ past tense, or are you, like many British people including professional writers, unfamiliar with the subjunctive tense and you mean “what if London were an independent country?“ Whichdenotes a hypothetical present or future situation? How do you guys communicate in the United Kingdom, not knowing this basic grammatical rule?
To me its very crazy out of the richest cities in the world most of them are capital cities of countries except for only America, Canada etc look at Tokyo with like $2.45 trillion is a capital city, NYC with $2.42 trillion is just a city and London is a capital city of a country with $900 billion or so and how much it contributes to the UK economy its just crazy that if the capital city get financial shockwaves it can basically destroy the entire UK economy, Capital Cities are not stable and the UK should not concentrate so much wealth in a city like London because London is not a very stable city for it to the capital of the country, the UK must move its government institutions to smaller cities like in America's case DC or Ottawa, Canada and such wealth must be like Toronto, NYC, LA, or Frankfurt Germany be concentrated and shared to all cities in the country because literally many Londoners i have met when i visited the UK do not want to be part of the UK. And it can literally cripple the UK if something goes wrong.
If london was independent, they would starve and run out of water gas electricity, etc etc etc in no time at all. We would charge them a small fortune to leave London and for everything they need to bring in or out. Let them eat stocks and shares
