I fucking love ambaint. I genuinely think urdak, the holt, and psx/doom 64 isn't talked about enough. I genuinely think without ambiant there's no atmosphere like quake, half life, or (yes) more recent doom games.
Some Remix ideas ranked from most potential to least (Updated V1.01) *-Feirce Battle from Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne (vocals can be found at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qhFAKqBpbg0.html) *-Koopa's Theme from Super Mario 64 *-E3M2 Donna to the Rescue from DOOM 1 *-Kaos' Theme from Skylanders *-Lavender Town from Pokemon (I'd love to see you attempt another ambient track) *-Mephiles Phase 2 from Sonic 06 *-The Evil Twins from Crash Twinsanity I'll Keep Updating and reposting every once in a while
The fact that you dug straight down to bedrock with nothing but a wooden shovel is incredibly impressive Really like the way you took minecraft's soundtrack and put a twist on it, can't wait to see whats next
And the fact that he did it in 1.18, AFTER the world depth was doubled! Mad respect for following through with the entire hole, even after getting to Deepslate!
@@greatwavefan397 multiple times I think the trope of a rampaging maniac taking a break from previous rampages in the elevator with calming elevator muzak and then cocking his shotgun and continues to rip and tear the enemy in the upper floor as soon as the elevator "ding" as the soundtracks return to death inducing heavy metal after a calming detour is very much synonymous with Doom
@@jacway5514 Duke Nukem 3D has a muzak track for when he is in the grocery store. Of course he's not there to take a break; there's a cleanup on aisle 4...
I think this one really works because I can clearly envision myself gathering resources, mining, crafting, etc. But in the hell torn landscapes of doom. It's almost like a more intense, survival based hades type of sound. Excellent job.
- He is digging straight down - With a wooden shovel - Without food - Without armor He is either the smartest person alive or has a deathwish. Good cover tho.
Excellent content as always. Have you ever considered, what if Dual of the Fates sounded like Doom? With the choirs and the already riff sounding orchestration? I know there are metal covers and stuff, but Doom? You can almost already hear it.
I just realized that Robet Slump is a Patreon for Geoff and this has made my day. Holy shit. I never thought two of my favorite artists would even know of each other.
Be cool if you did something with Pigstep in mind as well. By Lena Raine, and released as part of the Nether update. It's a different style from most other minecraft ost, but is really good.
Pigstep would of been a better fit for this video. It already goes hard... well as hard as minecraft music can be. Seeing an argent metal version would of been sick.
A month or so before Eternal got released, I built a nether portal for my friend's server, that was inside a sliced open ribcage of a chained up titan.
Y'know, I feel like the Starcraft franchise is a good area for you to target next. The Terran theme turned from orchestral rock with country vibes into full on Argent Metal?
Absolutely incredible! I literally had the biggest grin when you revealed that your Argent Metal Track would be a remake of Kitchen Ace, since thats my favorite Track from the old doom games!
@@CycloneSP The important thing isnt being a child when minecraft got released, the important thing is if you played it in the first place and still playing this day. If so, ur a legend.
The spotlight sections for other artists is the real gem for these videos. I'm in awe at your your altruism. I hope you will continue it even after your inevitable growth. May you live a long and successful life friend.
@@wabbitseason80085 Yeah, it wasn't a full song but who knows? Maybe Geoff will release the full song too considering the cover for Gangster's Paradise was released. And you know what? Since we are already talking about popular retro gaming icons, why not a Namco Arcade medley? I'm throwing this out as I can compare DOOM's soundtrack to Ridge Racer of all things. It's because of the fact that (while Ridge Racer soundtracks aren't usually metal) both soundtracks have a very electronic influence with some samples/leitmotifs of past games. This being that Ridge Racer, a game from Namco, refrences Namco Arcade games and newer DOOM games referencing classic DOOM.
I remember seeing this mod on twitter a while ago! IIRC the author said something about how both Minecraft and Doom have strong elements of positioning and movement in their combat--it's all about putting yourself at the right distance, moving constantly, and making sure your enemies don't catch up to you. I don't really like MC's combat, but I can see where the similarity is, and it's fascinating.
i genuinely applaud you for the effort at remaking the main theme in the doom eternal style! i would have personally drawn more from 2016 for ambient, but i think you nailed it but c'mon, that e1m4 cover is just too good
what about a track which is a combination of all Fatalis's themes throughout the whole series (plus white themes and crimson themes) that would be sick
This is such incredible work. I'm so impressed with how you tackled a project that looks so impossible on the surface and managed to make it work. Thanks for sharing this.
HOLY BALLS MY GUY. I didn't think your previous doom covers really had the doom spirit in them, like they lacked some heavy ass guitar or something. But this was amazing and you had me headbanging this time. Very well done.
@GeoffPlaysGuitar thank you for showcasing my music. This a true act of awesomeness! Channel is awesome, cover is awesome, patreons are awesome, people here are awesome.. AWESOME! thanks buddy
I love your editing style and this is a musical mashup I never would've expected to find. Only 3 minutes in and you gained a new sub. (I liked the dramatic irony bit that made me chuckle)
Forgot to comment how awesome this was, keep it up for. Taking such an iconic song and changing it in anyway is so amazing, easy to make someone not like it. Happy to hear it turned out great
One of the easiest songs to convert would be "Pigstep (mono)" which is a music disc found in the Nether. It's also available online: Pigstep (Stereo Mix) - Lena Raine
"Can heavy metal guitars really be ambient?" I'd say the Doom Eternal main menu track speaks for itself. Even with just the key changed to minor sixth, I love the sound. But if there was a resource pack that changed all the Minecraft music to Eternal-style covers, I'd definitely download it.
This just made me think "What if Terraria got some argent metal love?" and now I'm fawning over the idea of a boss 2 argent metal remix. Already an intense theme, first boss you fight with this theme is a very doom-y boss (Wall of Flesh) and it's fought in hell! I think it'd be perfect
Currently my two requests are do doomify dual of the dates cause that sounds epic and doomify Destiny music Anyways good job on this cover another great one!
Dang, that Doom style version of the theme song was gorgeous. That and a gritty texture pack would make Minecraft a whole new game. I very recently finished the Doom datapack in Minecraft... I sucked at it, but it was fun the whole way though! Much like your video, I had a huge smile the whole time.
SUGGESTION: What if you did a cover of something from Mad Max: Fury Road? I can imagine that Brothers in Arms or Storm is Coming would be some really awesome tracks in the Argent Metal style.
Killed it as always, I would love to see a cover of some Destiny music, I was thinking Athanasia or Shadowkeep/anything with Savathûn's Song, but anything you make would be sick
I know its a bit of a departure, but some Demon Hunter in the style of Doom Eternal would be wicked as all hell. That said, would either be more of the same or taking liberties with their ballads.
At this point I'm convinced that You can turn anything into argent. Heck I bet even sounds of a washing machine could be made into an argent metal song. As for suggestions: I would love to see a ratchet and clank soundtrack converted into argent. No deadlocked though, that would be to easy ^^. Also, Destiny just showed a new contender for conversion in new expansion. Track called "The first Disciple". Just watch out for the primal forces of the universe trying to kill you while listening to this track. Also Doom ambient ftw.
I wasn't expecting this, but I welcome it! I love these covers! ❤ Also, a thought came to me: What if... the Space Cadet 3D Pinball (the old winXP game) music sounded like Doom Eternal? A little bit silly, but I'd love to see your take
"Let's add a hint of percussion" *proceeds to add the stompiest bass drum in existence.* I love your covers and I have been here for basically every video since One Winged Angel but this was something I did not see coming. So when the video title showed up i just made some weird af noise in happyness and pure joy. XD I spent WAY too much time in Minecraft when it first came out, even did a long stint in Minecraft VR (Vivecraft with Valve Index). So hearing it doomified really made me happy man. Thanks for all your awesome work and I will also go and check out that map - might try to load it into VR and see how bananas it could go :D
dooms soundtrack puts me on edge while im playing, because whenever i hear music like it in other games it means a major boss fight is happening or im about to walk right in to a trap meanwhile in doom its just regular gameplay
* I ate a g while reading the phrase, I will not say which one * (The phrase its a literal translation from an spanish expression so may not make sense)
While this sounds great, and you did a genuinely awesome job at it, I kinda feel like the disc songs (say, Pigstep, since it's a Nether related song) would've been not just really good, but also fit your cover style a lot more. It's not as...ambient, I guess.
Good work I expected nothing less. If I may I have a request. I would love to see your rendition of the unfinished and used track in doom eternal known as THE SLAUGHTER. You capture the Doom tone perfectly so I think you definitely can handle the task.
I love this, but a complaint I had is one I still have. The synths always sound the same, not only that, but they don't feel like DOOM as much as I'd like. I know I wouldn't be able to do this because I'm not as knowledgeable as you are, but if you take a step back and really listen, you'll realize that the synths always sound very similar and not as much like DOOM when the synths are different in almost every DOOM track. For example, your E1M4: The synths and guitar could have been a lot better and if you were to listen to "Transistor Fist" from 2016, you'll hear Mick's own version of E1M4 in the song and could have tried something similar. I'm not saying I hate it, I love it, but even Mick had to change his style to make the music for DOOM. When making DOOM's music, he said that if you use the same stuff you've used for your previous work, and if you use the same process you've used for your previous work, you'll get the same thing you made last time. I'm just saying, I want to see you really experiment with stuff. Try replicating the synths from 2016 and see if you can learn something or realize something about the music that you never have before. Remember, before he was able to add guitar, he worked with nothing but synths and other electronics because he was specifically told "no guitars".
I am just absolutely mindblown. Genuinely speechless. I wanna praise this, but I just can't find any other words than "wow", "awesome", "amazing" and "fantastic". What is even crazier to me is that you're still at only 108k subscribers. I genuinely hope you blow up. You deserve at least 10 million for sure. Crazy stuff that you're able to do
Sadly, I struggle to really hear this one... looks like maybe it sort of is impossible. The song is excellent and a banger, just doesn't really sound like that iconic C418 song we all know so well, honestly.
Oh wow... I knew that Kitchen Ace cover of you before, but compared to the original... This slaps so hard, I can´t get enough of it. You alone are changing Argent Metal and making it great!
you are a genius, "youtube auto watch" was open and after a while i was listening what you were doing not watching, and when i listen this music, oh wow damn thats really good music i need to download it or even make it my new ringtone GOOD WORK BROTHER
We gotta get a Dark Souls theme in there. God, literally any track from the first one would blow me to pieces and leave behind two shoes with little bones poking out.
Thank you for keeping the DOOM spirit alive! One would think doing this for a while would get redundant, but you knock it out of the park every time! Cheers!
