I did this on NFL Fever 2004 but instead of just one character I made a whole combined team of superheroes and villains. Cap was QB, Thor TE, Flash WR, Juggernaut RB, etc.

Here's an old comic book idea I had a while ago that I never made. A series of Marvel based comics that take place in an alternate universe where powered individuals use their abilities to play sports instead of fight and commit crimes. Initially I was going to focus on football and the teams would be based on various factions of the marvel universe. So, for the Avengers Tony Stark is the owner and head coach and isn't actually able to play or compete on field because he has no super powers and he's not physically fit enough to compete on field. Also, they have rules against things like using a full suit of ironman armor to play... So... he's out. Captain American [not hawkeye] is the QB. His accuracy is less than Hawkeyes, but that's really all hawkeye has going for him. Also an example of how great Cap's accuracy is is that it's said very few people are able to throw caps shield with the same or better accuracy than captain america himself [Better: Bullseye and Hawkeye] [well enough to use it effectively as a weapon: Bucky, Spider-man, Wolverine, Hulk, and a few others... but the list is actually fairly short]. While Cap's accuracy is less than Hawkeye, it's not by enough to ignore his throwing power, play making on the spot, running speed, strength, awareness, agility, etc.. Placing Cap in the QB spot Gives an extreme dual threat from the ground and the air as well as someone who's likely going to excel at hurry up offense because of his planning ability. Hawkeye on the other hand is at least the 2nd string QB who's never going to miss a pass.... However, there's a much better spot for Hawkeye. Hawkeye is the Punter and Kicker. Having him as punter is probably the absolute best spot for him. Every punt someone's running out to catch that ball and the threat of Hawkeye throwing it to that receiver is something the defense will have to respect with maybe even double coverage. Also, if he decides to punt the ball instead it will 100% of the time be a coffin corner on the 1 yard line. Hulk plays many positions. C, HB, CDL, KR, PR, Kick off, etc.. This is usually at the digression of Tony, the head coach, who often let's Cap call the plays. You need a punt blocked? Hulk. You need a kick returned? Hulk. You need to run for a TD? Hulk. You need someone to protect the QB.... wait... okay, he might not have the patience for O line... but, you get the idea, he can be in a lot of positions. I'm not going to go into the complete depth chart of the Avengers team. Let's check out another. The Kingpin of Crimes team. Wilson Fisk owns a new york based team full of dirty players, but they're also rather skilled. They're mostly Spider-man and DareDevil antagonists. Stillman would've been a decent wide receiver... maybe... But you can't use fucking stilts... so, nope. Bullseye is the QB, K, and P. Unfortunately he's a little on the psychotic side and has a tendency to be ejected out of games for things like intentionally injuring Defensive backs on the opposing team with the ball by throwing it at their knee caps, helmet, etc. with the intend of disabling those players. It's done too often to be over looked as simply an accident. He's also not terribly nice to his own teammates, sometimes intentionally lodging the ball inside their helmets... One time he threw a TD pass that connected inside the helmet of a WR and gave his teammate a concussion... but it was ruled a catch and they scored anyway. He's a threat as a punter for all the reason's Hawkeye is... also cause he's fucking crazy and will legitimately try to injure someone with the ball. Venom is a WR. I mean, he can catch pretty much anything with little problems. Maybe he's a tight end since he's large. Dr. Octopus.... is one of the coaches... it's being debated if his arms are legal since they're fused to his spine and he cannot remove them. Either way, he's intelligent and comes up with fairly decent plans. Norman Osborn I'm not really sure. He's got strength and speed enhancements, and he's fairly smart and accurate at throwing things. So i guess he's the backup QB for the inevitable psychotic break down Bullseye is going to have during a game. He's also a co-owner of the team. And while he's also prone to psychotic breaks as well, it's significantly less likely than Bullseye. Another team.. The brother hood of evil mutants has one of the more stacked rosters. At running back you have Quicksilver. Good luck catching this asshole. Not sure where maggy fits into this. I went with QB. He is able to control the magnetic field around non metals as well as metallic objects, he can fly be manipulating the iron in his body and his own magnetic field. He can create a powerful magnetic barrier [so, no O line required]. when throwing the ball he would be able to control it's flight through the air. I'm sure other teams in the league, simply because of his presence would use pads that have non magnetic material to negate his abilty to toss them around like ragdolls. Juggernaut. Like the hulk, but better cause he's not a complete rage monster. Plays FB, TE, DL, etc.. you need a big guy to crash through, he's there. Unlike the hulk he has enough patience and control to actually play OL. The Charles Xavior school for gifted Mutants initially had a team in the NCAA. But Charles being the cool guy he is thought it was unfair and kinda not cool that college athletes don't get paid. So he motioned to put his schools team in the NFL, it's the first school of it's kind in that the sports students play are in a professional league. However, they are some pretty talented individuals. QB Jean Grey... she reads minds. Like what's floating around in the heads of the defense. Also she has very powerful telekinetic abilities and can accurately get the ball to go where she wants. Some teams have descovered her ability to read minds from game footage and personal experience, however, like the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, their rival and as a result they've developed special helmets to block out her mind reading, most notably, Juggernaut and Magneto. Back QB is Cyclops. Good at planning, overall decent physically, and good accuracy. HB is.... who else? Night crawler. Want an instant TD? give it to the guy who can teleport 300m away.... given that 100m > 100yards.... well, seems like a no brainer... actually, you know what, fuck it, why not just make Night Crawler the QB, P, KR, PR, and pretty much just ALWAYS put him in whatever position is going to touch the ball first after the snap. Well.... this is where part of the story changes the game a little. In my story, Xaviors team beat every team so badly because of night crawler being this OP as a football player that they've expanded the size of the playing field, players allowed on field, and the first down sizes. 100 yards are not enough. The league has decided on 10,000 meters by 5,000 meters for the field now... more on rule changes later. But basically Night crawler broke football. But not as much as.... The Fantastic 4. Well, there are actually a lot of FF members from over the years. The FF team also takes in members from marvels street level heroes [which is where a lot of their previous members came from]. Reed Richards would be a WR or QB. Probably WR with the long reach and all that. Jonny is... um... I don't know WR. I mean, he can fly. Sue is QB cause she doesn't need and O line with those invisible walls and all that. maybe she's the center... Ben is FB But then you have people like Franklin Richards who can manipulate reality as they see fit.... he was just kinda banned from the league... along with Scarlet witch for being too over powered. Then you've got other characters like Spider-man, Ghost Rider, She-Hulk, etc.. I need to work on that again. I might just change it to a simpler sport like baseball or basketball where there are less players on the field and it's easier to figure out who's where. Btw, Night crawler would still break both of those games.
