@@jcoolguy1548 why not? Truly I'm curious to hear why not because in the regular season NFL & NBA, you can have them do their regular schedules. But come playoff time, it's the best teams, only and it's seeded by best Overall Records and if teams have the same record then you go by when they played as the tie breaker for the seedings. Now if that doesn't work for the NFL because some teams do play then you look that the division and see were they are ranked, so say for example The Cowboys and Chiefs have the same Record but The chiefs won their division and the cowboys are Second in their division, meaning that the chiefs would get the higher seeding while Dallas is below. But that also could mean the difference of a Dallas vs Chiefs Playoffs in the first round

@@Dorianv96 Well I believe that having conferences provides much more structure in the league. It's more competitive too. Having teams in each conference fighting for the last few spots. If half of the league can make the playoffs in one conference, it wouldn't be exciting as teams making the playoffs in two different conferences. Conferences and divisions make it harder to get into the playoffs. I just think leagues would lose their competitive edge and rivalries if they just got rid of the conferences.

@@jcoolguy1548 well doesn't already almost half the league already make the playoffs in the NBA and the NFL is what? 14 teams already. Conference are only cool for the regular season but come playoff time, to me, it's what's damages the league as a whole because we have had too many sub-par to below 500 teams make the playoffs and to me that hurts the leagues as a whole. In the playoffs it should be the best of the best not no 7-9 team or 8-9 teams in. It should be the best of the best. To me that create a even better playoff because teams that usually never match up before, will match up on top of that, you could have to teams from the same state match up in a Superbowl or a NBA finals. Alot of times people say, the actual Finals was the conference finals so if we took away conferences in the playoffs I believe we would have a way better product, way better games and way more competition and never before seen match ups we only we dreamed about. Has the NFL took away conferences we could have probably seen Match ups between Brady & Drew in the playoffs, Payton vs Rogers, Just to name a few. NBA wise we could have probably had Kobe vs LeBron in the playoffs.

@@jcoolguy1548 my counter argument to that is this. The NBA Already half of the league makes it, you have the best 8 from the east and the best 8 from the west in the playoffs. In the NFL it's 14 teams which almost half the league as well. So already that's claim if half of the league can make it. It wouldn't be fun but I think that also is not true because if the seed is based of the best record I believe in then, that would show who has the stronger conference between East and West because alot of times people say the East is weaker than the west. Ok then why not see it with no conference playoffs. If 9 teams are East in the playoffs and Only 7 are West, then that narrative can be put to bed but as I said during the regular season you can keep the conferences to keep order but come playoff time it's no conferences meaning the Amount of match ups we never seen before, we could have. Matches up like Kobe vs LeBron. If this happens in 2011, We could have possibly saw the Big 3 heat vs Dallas earlier, We might have Dallas vs Lakers in the Finals. 2016 it could have OKC vs Golden State in the finals and that's just the NBA side, think about the NFL side of things were it's the top 12-14 teams and we have never before seen match ups, like say Dallas vs KC, Bills vs Detroit, Eagles vs Ravens hell it could have been Eagles vs Dallas in the Superbowl. So the statement that this would hurt rivals I believe is the opposite because You could really have 2 rivals play in the Super bowl. Bengals vs Browns, Green Bay vs Bears, Bills vs Chiefs, Chiefs Vs Bengals, Eagles Vs Steelers, Eagles vs Dallas and the list goes on.
