When you say "lose oxygen" you have no idea to what level you're even talking about. If it's just the air, we'd all be fine for 5 seconds. If it's every oxygen atom in all molecules everything would be destroyed.

The question was pretty vague, mainly being that we are unsure if it's elemental oxygen or oxygen atoms. Either way we'd be screwed, but moreso from the oxygen atoms.

Don’t forget that concrete has a huge oxygen content, or any type of brick like material for that matter, so literally every building nearby you would probably crumble instantly. You might be able to survive the five seconds without oxygen, but you sure as hell won’t survive choking on all that dust in your lungs, as you swallow it while getting crushed by it

Imagine you just finished a challenge with your friend of who can hold their breath the longest and you both manage to hold it for two minutes before you HAVE to breathe or you’ll die so you try and take a breath and immediately this happens

Cars would cruise to a stop for 5 seconds then re start, planes would glide and probably be able to maintain altitude when after 5 seconds they could start their APU and restart their engine.

I'm thinking of this like all oxygen, including bonded ones are gone. He didn't even bring up the issue with water. All living things are made up of water, without that water, even for 5 seconds, we would at the very least get extremely dehydrated. And don't try to say "we would be fine without water for five seconds"; our bodies are made up of 70% water and if we lose all of that water for 5 seconds, we wouldn't have any blood; our bodies would immediately dry out, and on top of that we would be cooked alive. We would probably all die before the time is even up.

I know i sound like a nerd saying this but the earths atmosphere is mostly nitrogen with (if i remember correctly) ~21% oxygen. the most noticable thing to happen would probably be fires going out and combustion engines stopping. other than that things will continue as if nothing happend after that.

This video is also considering all compounds in which oxygen is present to disappear as well.. well roughly half pf Earth crust is oxygen.. so ground wont crumble it will infact disappear(half of it)

We can go without breathing for a while because there is already oxygen in our blood. If you take that away it would cause every cell in your body to have to rely of lactic acid fermentation in order to get energy, and that doesn’t supply very much energy, and even if it could it would be very painful.
